With the godfather and Val venis you’d think they had enough horny characters on the roster… NOPE it’s the attitude era lol
And Mr Ass
Straight out of Vince's perverted mind,
@@tiaancloete7301yep. When Mae Young "gave birth" to a hand...🙄🤦🏾♂️
I was done with that BS.
"I'm a sex addict"
"WHAT?"
"What did he say?"
You realize how messed up Vince is when you stop and think about how many times sexual abuse or rape was involved in a story line.
They know their audience is mostly in trailer parks and the ghetto
I was about to say. Damn, they were raping everyone!
Stuff like this can work if handled very carefully but WWE does it to give that old creep laughs or tasteless shock value
Also Vince Russo.
I'm pretty sure that he writes what he knows.
Anyone remember the night Vince McMahon faked his own death in a blown up limo, but had to come back the next show because of Chris Benoit?
think i was in college when i heard/read about that
Talk about wrong place wrong timing
"You put his brain in a parakeet and zing, flies backwards" is a hilarious line lmao
😂😂.. the rock was a menace
Giving Ric Flair a live mic with sponsors there was a dumb idea.
Giving Ric the mic at any moment is a horrible idea.
We're very different people. I think it's hilarious.
@@LadyAbsolutionfor real, after his prime watching him on the mic was like watching paint dry. I remember when he was on raw I always go take a leak or change the channel.
@@escherpainting8622Evolution Ric was hilarious. As was 70s-80s Ric. Mid 90s Ric was incompetent and deranged.
Flair had excellent mic skills

Jim: "Well... I ain't goin' there"
😂😂😂
Good ol JR avoiding trouble
Good gawd allllmityyyy
Jerry was hilarious when he was raunchy, but that one was a bit too much 😅😅
good ol' Lawler. driving college girls to class.
@uchibenkei thats 😂 we got the same mind.
That pepper storyline. They had to post a letter on Raw the next week stating "Pepper is fine and he wanted to be written off TV and go home to his wife and his children..." because so many parents littered WWF with angry letters and advertisers were irate
If only they knew that this was probably one of the few that is based on an actual urban legend. It is believed by many that Mr. Fuji , who was a known prankster, did in fact feed someone their own dog
Americans getting upset over a dog they never seen get butchered but will eat other animals that has been butched.. The United States Of America can be a little hypocritical at times.. If we are going to protect a few animals why not all of them??
The dog show stopped raw from coming on. They knew dog lovers watched raw lmao.
I heard it kept going I saw the segment and laugh when AL claps his hands give me back my friend!!! the problem was the kennel match the dogs started taking a shit so they kept the match going with no dog. Al Snow told officials you have to get trained dogs or it's not going to work. Big Bossman's daughters told the crowd that Pepper was alive and the dog was not eaten.
How stupid are people that they think someone actually killed, cooked, and ate a dog on national TV
5:41 Vince: come on out, come on out you RAPIST!
*No chance in hell starts playing*
Flair struts out too
@@BounceDemTiddiesWOOOOOO
This video is absolutely despicable , embarrassing and disgusting!…… Make a part 2 👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣
"This is so awful and disgusting!.... anyways you got more?"
We can thank Vince Russo for at least most of these storylines
2 is not enough .. we need atleast 10
😂😂😂😂
A human trafficking match 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂💀💀💀
Loser gets linda
😂😂😂😂😂
ric flair vs linda in a plane ride from hell match.. linda dresses as a sky waitress .. shes a slob anyways look at how her daughter behaved.
Remember when they made Diamond Dallas Page stalk Undertaker's wife? It pretty much murdered his career because there was no going back to being babyface, and worst of all, feud actually went nowhere. I bet $10 that both DDP and Taker hated that storyline.
The story line with Steph and Tripps was just like every story line with a McMahon at the time. Where they come off as innocent and a face, pull the crowd, then like 2 to 5 weeks later, laugh and tell everyone they were secretly in on it and the bad guy.
I think Linda is the only one that didn't do that.
Least we forget "IT'S ME AUSTIN!!!"
Linda took many years but eventually she did it when she fired J.R. then kicked him in the nuts a week after Austin stunned the whole McMahon family.
@@jasonx1174 yeah, that's literally what he's referring to… Clearly, nobody forgot that and everybody understood what the reference was
@@loregasmic which is not at all the same thing that is being described… Why are wrestling fans so quick to be wrong about everything but act like they're just right about everything?

Rip Scott Hall man 😢
That Mark Henry Sexual Chocolate summary was glorious. The good ol' days.
I thought it was awesome also. It gave memorable comedic moments. He even stated when Mae Young gave birth to a hand, he had a hard time keeping character and burst out laughing. Added Gerald Brisco did get grossed out by it, everyone else almost burst out laughing with that alone.
It fetishizes Black Men
Custody of the hoes match needed again
Disagree. It was hard to watch. It wasn't wrestling. It was Jerry springer trash.
I can't help but respect Mark through that whole thing cause he didn't care about the embarrassment at all he just had his eyes on the prize 💰💰💰.
Mark Henry & Mae Young's " Hand son" should be inducted into the 2024 WWE HOF 😂😂
Mae Young was tougher and more over than anybody today
Yep with Gillburg doing the induction
I really want to know who specifically came up with the idea of their offspring being a hand.
Absolutely bonkers lmaoo

Vince needs jail time for some of these stories 😂😂😂
g00d luck pal, billionaires don't go to jail
@@alexrekzu4079yep not even all the ones that were friends with Jeffrey epstein. Only poor people go to jail so someone can pay for their new yact with the private prison industry. Of course jail isn't for billionaires because cops are enforcers of capitalists, started out as slave catchers
He needs to go to jail not for these stories, but for his other activities
no
@@Vegeta_1990 Exactly. Decades of racism, sexual assault, sexual harassment and just being an absolute garbage person.
Something hilarious to me is how the unmasked Kane gives that chick an evil kiss then they cue his entrance music 😂 my how far that character had come
The attitude era is so fondly remembered that everyone actually for got there was such much crap in it.
That’s half the reason it’s loved lol the story’s are wild 😂
I love the attitude era but I don't fuck with no rape angles it's nothing entertaining about its just gross taking booty ain't cool even in wrestling
What are you talking about. You're just a prude. I've been going through it for the past few years from 1996 and currently at the end of 2001. Its all rediculous and thats what makes it so great. The current crap they have now can't hold a candle to it.
@@OldSchoolDudeGamingwhile it's true that wrestling now is straight trash. Not liking storyline about rape and kidnapping and sexual assault doesn't make them a prude. Maybe you should think about WHY did we consider that entertainment ? Why are storylines like that considered "the good stuff"
Boo hoo boo hoo. It was 20,000,000 times better than today's shit.
No matter what WWE can't top the Katie Vick Storyline. Any other risqué storyline falls pale in comparison.
Why did my dad let me watch this at 9y.o. lol 😂😂
Katie Vick wasn't that bad is was just very very dumb
If you're talking about "storylines", maybe. If you include real moments--I think nothing can ever compare to the Chris Benoit tribute show that they did to pay respects to him, just *before* the news was revealed about the murders.
@@rg_888 that wasn't something they could have known
@@wintertrooper7918 the thing is that the WWE actually had known it before the tribute show.
Let me sum it up most of this: The Attitude Era was controversial lol. But that was the idea. It was intentional, and it saved the WWE. Would not fly today, though.
It should fly today...they should tell the audience to go against the grain. The corporate people are the ones who go to eyes wide shut type of parties, and do all kinds of heinous acts, and when they come out in public ,they act like saints. Ooh WWE is ruining kids..lol..it's actually them feeding LGBT**** down people's throats.
Well, Vince is a member. so...
This isn't listing extreme or controversial scenes but just ones that were bad taste by author's opinion.
Of course when they attempted to shock quite a few stories ended up being crap.... They were throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
Personally, I think snake and Jericho injuring Chyna parts were fine. Violent arcs for a violent sport...
Vince kinda has an idea what's too much as shown here when cutting off Flair, or when he canceled the russian heel gimmick after MH-17.
Rightfully so
No, not segments like these. It was mainly the rock, stone cold and mankind rivalries in 98/99 that were pivotal.
Because today's generation is nothing but a bunch of snowflakes, to put it politely.
“I’m not embarrassed to be with younger women, except when I drop them off at school” 🙂
“I’m not going there”
A human trafficking match??😂😂🤦🏻🤦🏻

If I remember correctly it was something about them fighting over ladies and had a pimp or best ladies man type of vibe
@@ebonyraine6420Vince did this irl recently.
How about Randy Orton saying Eddie Guerrero is in hell? Probably the most deplorable thing they have ever aired.
Bossman went from killing Pepper to writing that hilariously cruel sympathy card for Big Show. It still makes me laugh. I guess his Southern accent took it over the top for me.

Always pissed me off how in 2002 kane returns in his most agile and athletic shape ever has the crowds support 100% and they put him in the katie vick angle followed by losing to hhh FFS
The 1st time he lost to HHH in 2002 he lost his big red machine aura
And the 2nd time he lost to HHH in 2003 he lost his mask and whatever was left of that big red machine aura
But in 2002, he didn't have a monster aura. He came back having lost a lot of muscle mass, fighting for the flag and doing a spinaroonie… He instantly became a joke. A popular one, sure, but a joke nonetheless. Losing his mask actually made him a monster again.
@@Erlewyn Wrong, in early 2002 he still had the monster aura when he came back after his injury he still was the big red machine tho despite him doing the kanearoonie keep in mind even as a huge imposing monster before returning in 2002 he was randomly made to do joking silly stuff in segments like saying suck it, or the kaneanite promo with the rock and hogan
And even while he was still a huge monster towards the end of that run in early 2002 he was made to job and look inferiror against kurt angle with that being said he didnt start becoming and official "joke" until the ridiculous katie vick storyline but even after then he was still the big red machine yeah he was a different kind of monster for a few weeks after he unmaksed until he started losing and made to look inferior again in my opinion they were better off unmasking him after summerslam 2000 where taker unmasked him and kane was still built like a tank with the long badass hair it wouldve made more sense than the half shaved no eyebrowed thing we got.
@@Squeakypickles619is it possible Glenn Jacobs did some IRL shit to be punished for? Because he's like the ONLY WWE guy who openly cheered for putin recently. Of course it's 20 years (and many chair shots to the head) apart, but maybe there were signs he's a bit cray back then already.
They missed with Benoit and covered up Moolah and Snuka for decades, but some people were sidelined for being toxic.... WWE dodged a bullet with Tessa for example. And took conspiracy nuts like Kendrick off TV... Nia was sacked because of vaccine policy, so on.
@@KasumiRINA I highly doubt it, Glenn Jacob's has always been known to be one of the wwes most well behaved and respected employees he was also known to be one of he smartest guys as far as his political views it's no secret that he's on the republican side as is Vinnie Mac who's good buddies with Trump so it probably wasn't to hard for him to get a mayor position in Tennessee

What a television programme.
Now I remember why I wasn't allowed to watch wrestling when I was a kid.
The Attitude Era is a disgusting reflection of Vince McMahon's warped soul.....
It was actually really entertaining and it’s a shame you crybabies take entertainment too literally.
@@cedricbeard4609 I'm not saying it should be banned or cancelled. I believe in freedom 100%....But as a fan of wrestling, and given the context of what McMahon is, allegedly, I find the Attitude Era disturbing, in retrospect.
Some of these are so absurd that they're hilarious. 😂
Man what a time to be alive to see all this. I don’t care. I miss this

I remember the Mark Henry's story arc well. It's burned into my brain

JR: good gawd! Mark Henry, the worlds strongest man is eviscerating the anal cavity of Batista!!!
Controversial. Yet, still the most profitable and entertaining time of wrestling. Precisely because you didn't know what was happening next.
Seeing this after the Vince's lawsuit just makes some shit even darker.
Wwe was wild back in the day 😳😂
More like WWF. After it became WWE, the Attitude Era essentially ended.
@@danman6669 facts the good old days is gone now unfortunately
It was good back in the day
Considering the numerous injuries that either nearly killed (early Hell in a Cell matches) or badly injured people
What happened at Over the Edge
The obnoxious to absolutely degrading sh** the women went through
And the ridiculous level of hot potatoing all the titles went through back then
I’m GLAD the Attitude Era is long gone and never want it back
Your looking at rose tinted glasses with that era
Especially if take into consideration most of that stuff would never have happened if both ECW hadn’t existed (since it’s a fact they copied or stole ideas from it) and WCW wasn’t kicking Vince’s arse for a few months
You mean WWF
Triple H talking in different languages was funny af 😂💀💀
"I'm bi a lot of things but lingual isn't one of them. Did I mean do just say that?"
"Maybe not but we're live."
that type of stuff with Mark Henry (the "salacious sexual angles) is the primary reason i stopped wrestling. When RAW became 20 minutes of wrestling sandwiched by 40+ minutes of skits is when i checked out
Same
Not even an honorable mention to the Katie Vick thing? That was one that could've killed two careers imo
Don't forget Kane/Triple H and the Katie Vick angle, the Val Venis choppy choppy segment, and the Undertaker hanging the big boss man and the big boss man dragging the big shows dad's casket with him in it around the cemetery.
With the recent allegations on Vince, you can sum up the Attitude and the Ruthless Aggression Eras as the "The Writer's Barely-Disguised Fetish" meme.
The Melena-Batista angle was too ahead of its time
Even though WCW exploiting Scott Hall’s alcoholism was pretty bad taste, you have to give Hall credit for projectile vomiting on Bischoff😂
The attitude era was the best! It was just entertainment, nothing more.
Just entertainment? You do know that even in wrestling there is political messaging. Or do you think Vince brought politicians like trump to wm 23 just for “entertainment”.

WWE had a mare and, unusually for them, gave Mark Henry a big long term contract.
They regretted it and spent years trying to humiliate him to make him quit. He just rode it out, though.
No. He was a good worker and they liked him and they gave him a lot of TV time. Any professional wrestler you can humiliate isn't a good pro wrestler.

When you learn about how messed up Vince McMahon's early childhood was, you sort of understand why he allowed so many awful storylines on his shows.
They are just storylines, everyone partaking consents these guys are simply making a movie. You want a bad guy? The bad guy needs to do bad guy things, it’s not like people are being influenced by those storylines.
People act like the overly exaggerated storylines are problematic, but thats just what they were overly dramitized storys that were ment to shock and entertain, it seems like all offbrand comedy and any form of extemity should be shut down and forgotten but its part of what made everything more memorable
That’s what made wrestling good. It was real and wild and hilarious. Not this PC cringe family show it is now

Theirs a limit to shit. The whole rape shit wasnt funny then and dam sure ain't funny now
I don’t know dude. If you think that r@apey and racist storylines are your thing then I guess it says a lot about you.
People seem to pretend that it’s just entertainment, but what people clearly overlook are themes like sexism where women were essentially treated like property or sex objects.
@@tonchigaming7238 Lighten up dude. Wrestling used to be a reflection of real life and never hid anything. Now wrestling is just corporate and PC and fake. It’s ok to prefer bra and panties matches over women technical wrestling. It’s ok to think some offensive jokes are funny. It’s entertainment no need to take everything so seriously
One one the worst things wwe done was go pg. 😢

Yet another person complaining about the PG swap. If you ask me it’s the best thing especially since ring controversial is pretty much a death sentence to one’s career.
@@grizzly_manbanimation8436 controversy gets people talking and interested and brings more popularity. Controversy sales. We wouldn’t have Rick flair in this moment 😂. I don’t really watch it anymore but when miss kitty and other divas was showing those puppies I was all about it 😆.
I think the Lita/Kane thing is the most unpleasant story WWE ever did. It was not mincing words about what was going on and then the miscarriage angle was like doubling-down. There have been angles where something worse may have happened but this was actually the whole story.
this is at least the 4th video someone has made mentioning how horrible it was when wcw used Scott Hall's drinking problem in a story, and they tend to not mention that wwe did it as well, with i believe Jake the snake where they poured alcohol on his face and in his mouth while he was trying to get clean, then much much more recently (like 2019 i think) did a story with Jeff Hardy about his addictions, having him fight in a bar, do a "pee test" and supposedly driving under the influence, plus more, that went for weeks. also i believe there was a story of mocking CM Punk for his sister having addictions, which is not quite as bad, but not exactly good either.
but at least this one did mention that wwe also brought up Hall's issues and even played into it by Austin giving him a beer.
Did you add the bit about Vince saying “two generations away from a bone through your nose.”
And that was relatively recent.
I missed that. Who did Vince McMahon say that to?
@@pattywalsh5233 my mistake Vince said to Roman Reigns “you were one generation away from having a bone through your nose." From Raw dec-28-2015

I still say another one that should be on this list was the Raw necrophilia bit with Kane that was deplorable and I cringed so bad watching it live.
they included a clip of that in this video
It wasn't Kane though. It was Triple H in a Kane mask. (Katie Vick storyline)
You didn't mention the racist storyline that Triple H and Ric Flair had with Booker T, when Booker was challenging for the World Heavyweight title. The dialogue being used was very dark as well.
I knew the Katie Vick angle was gonna be controversial 😂 I remember taping it off the tv
What happened that's controversial?
My god i didn’t realize how raunchy and dark some of these bits and story lines were. I mean they were teetering right on the edge of rated R mature audience television no doubt about it.
Growing up I wasn’t allowed to watch MTV but this shit was fine. 😂 Way to go mom.
Wow, seeing all these now as an adult… 😂😂😂
Does this surprise anyone when one of Vince's proposed storylines was that he was the father of Stephanie's baby? When she vetoed that, he said "Okay, maybe Shane is the father." The man is a pervert and has been charged. He should be in jail.
It was just entertainment and also charged with what? Because he hasn't been charged and hasn't done anything wrong where it was proven.
It's a storyline for a tv show just like game of thrones incest stories.
@@davidkumar7658 It's weird that in a time where incest stories are pretty common that someone would complain about one two decades ago that never happened.
