It seems like everyone relates to the song in some way or another. my relation with this song isn't exactly a popular one but as a musician I listen to this because it's about the raw power of the instrument. the combination of different instruments playing their own special part to make an amazingly mellow and heartfelt melody is what makes me cherish 10 Years' work. You never fully get to know a band unless you listen to their Acoustic versions, only then will you truly hear their raw talent and struggles behind the voice. Right on.
Very much so. At least used to be whwn this was coming out. The drummer is severely underrated. I remember listening to this album thinking he's playing licks that you wouldn't think would fit but they were perfect, showed his skill and didn't tale away from the song

As a father of two girls with autism. I've drawn a lot of inspiration from this song. I know it's about something else, but this song speaks to me about many of the struggles I have helping my kids through autism. Read up on autism then listen again. Am I stretching the message of this song too far? Great song!

It's been years since I've cried or shed any kind of tears out of sadness, but this song made me shed some tears. I'm only 24 but I've seen a lot of crazy things in my 24 years of being alive, and this song just made think about...I don't know people who don't have it that good as America (use) to have. You watch TV and see all these countries in chaos, people killing people, kids starving dying, and you got groups and organizations of people who are hell bent on causing harm, pain and death to others, for joy. That's what this song made me think of. People who like to cause harm to other people out of joy do not deserve to live and I try my best to be a protector of the weak sick and/or poor.

I stopped ONE fight, which was one sided I might add (The other guy didn't start it, didn't fight back and tried to make peace even when getting hit) and half my school threatened to break my legs if I did that again...you can imagine how angry I was at such a disgusting comment. The music video is, but the song's meaning is different and still deep. It's about heroine addiction. "Heave the silver hollow silver piercing through another victim", "change my attempt, good intentions, limbs tied, skin tight", "self inflicted". It's what the main meaning is. I do agree with what you're saying and I do know that people interpret songs in different ways. However it's sad that people don't know the main meaning of this song. People hate addicts and put them all into one category. But some of them are trapped and addicted even though they don't want to be. I know, because I used to be addicted and I know how hard it was to stop.

I haven smoked weed in 5 months so I can land me a good career that a deserve without my habits deciding my job selection. I have smoked weed non stop from 13- 25 so this is my first time really without it. My other habit ive had for 7+ years but i never saw it as bad because I was always able to afford 2-3k a month without thinking about it. Now that shits hit the fan for me and I wish I could even make that a month right now. So this past 7 months has shown me how dependent I was on opiates since I started back in 09. People that never used cant understand. The high is immeasurable and the pain from withdrawals are just as immeasurable.

I have a mental disorder where i cant make friends easily. I really suck at it and people talk about me behind my back. I feel longly and forgot. I feel like a speck of grey in a colorful world. I cant stand anyone who tries to help with not an ounce of knowing what their words are saying to me. It feels like a thousand needles are being poked in my akin by each word they say. And the sad things is that i know they are right. I cant integrate into society and everyone looks down on me because of it.

This song came out when i was bout 15 at the time my ex and i were split up. After we finished high school we went our seperate ways. Then after 8 yrs we got back together though it was rough the couple of yrs due to my past legal/financial/ mental issues. She wanted to move forward and i was scared as well as low. For i wanted to give her everything she deserved but i failed :( Now she is pregnant with the guy that took her from me only 4 to 5 after we called it quits.
If it makes you feel better ... I was in an abusive relationship and was sexually harmed.. left with a child and thought I found the love of my life .. he wanted to start a family of his own and wanted anther kid to the family.. I gave my all and now left looking like the idiot with two kids .. even though all my intentions were pure and good..
