I was generously gifted a PC my father rescued from an estate sale. It was running Windows 8 and I couldn't get it to log into my Microsoft account. I followed your video and am now running Windows 10 flawlessly. The activation came through automatically. 10 May 2024. It would be impossible for the average computer user to do what is taught in this video. I updated from 8.1 to 10Pro on July 21, 2024 using this thorough, professional and completely accurate video. There were a just two small differences in my 8.1 to the one in the video, but the solution was easy to figure out and the update was seamless and flawless. I watched the video several time before I made the upgrade. The I used another computer to follow the instruction video, pausing at each step of the way to be sure I was following the instructions carefully. Sometimes I backed up to confirm what I was doing and the end result is perfect. I have used other videos from Memory Tech to clean and speed up another computer and the results were likewise perfect! Thank you Memory Tech!!! Also, let me add that my license was automatically updated!!!

Recently purchased a still new in box (never opened) from 2012 HP P7-1451 at a great price off of E-Bay. After fighting the twelve year old Norton Security built into Win 8 by uninstalling it . I was still able to move from Win 8 to Win 10 (Home) as of July 2024. Thanks for your fairly easy to understand video as there seemed to be a hundred confusing videos on you tube!

Btw what is the difference between "Windows 10 Installation" (From USB) to this method of "upgrading"?
Pleasure! Well, usually when you install it from a USB you do a "clean" install of Windows. You have the option of keeping your files, but you can't keep your apps, programs & games that way. With the upgrade you can keep everything as is but your operating system gets updated.

Just did it tonight, I had to use the tool and it crashed on the first attempt, but the second attempted worked.
Accepted the 8.1 key upgrade to windows 10 afterwards without issue.

It's a pleasure! Glad I could help you in upgrading to Windows 10. So yes, for the speed you need to replace your existing hard drive with a Solid State Drive, that's the only thing that's going to increase the speed for sure. Keep an eye on my channel, I'll be creating a detailed guide on how to do that in the near future.
When I right click on the iso file, the only setup option is setup.exe from a previous dvd version. Dead end. Any options?
You can try and use a program like 7zip to extract the files from the ISO file to your computer and then run the Setup.exe that way, it will also work.

In that case, I would download 7-zip and extract the ISO file contents to a folder and just run it from within the folder.

If you have Windows installed on a hard drive, buy an SSD and migrate Windows to an SSD, it will be much faster.

I have followed your procedures and successfully downloaded the ISO file, however after the process of installation, and when it said it will restart the computer, it popped up the installation failed. Hi, unfortunately that happens sometimes and I have never found a fix for it. It might be a conflicting program you have installed that is causing it not to upgrade, but to be honest, I think you'll need to do a fresh install of Windows 10 if you want to use it.

Do you have Windows installed on a hard drive or SSD? If you don't have an SSD, you need to get one ASAP. I will be posting guides on my channel soon on how to clone from a hard drive to an SSD so keep an eye out for that.
