LOVE YOU ELVIS!!!!! WOW - Such A Passionate Powerful Voice!!!! He is WEARING HIS "BLACK PHOENIX JUMPSUIT HERE - INFO ON THIS JUMPSUIT - 💋💋💋
Original name: Black Phoenix Suit
Other names: Black Eagle suit
Description: White jumpsuit with black eagle design done in embroidery.
Belt:
At least two different "Zebra Belt's" were designed for the suit.
Information:
The eagle on the "Phoenix" suits wasn't originally designed as a bird. The original design was supposed to be two zebra heads bowing into each other, but when Elvis saw the sketches, his comment was "that bird has funny feet", as he was looking at the sketch upside down. So a bird design it came... but if you look at the design upside down, you can still see the two zebras in there.
The "Black Phoenix" was possibly made and delivered for Elvis in 1974 (just like the 1974 "Turquoise Phoenix"), but so far no evidence has surfaced that Elvis would have worn it back then, the first photographical evidence of Elvis wearing the suit comes from the 1975 May/June tour.
As with the "Red Phoenix", there were at least two 'original/matching belts' designed for this suit as well ... the first version was worn only in 1975, while the second one was worn only in 1976
Thank you Tonya for the history of this jumpsuit...I appreciate your efforts to keep us informed of all things Elvis😊😊❤❤ love it all🤗
Thank you Tonya, Dearest, for the info 💖📖💖👍😃 & thank you Miss Susy Q for all the positive vibes 🌻💕
Thank you Tonya for your very informative comment. It's just amazing what we can learn in the comments from this page.
The Tony Bennet version had more of a big band vibe. Elvis did not like ever being rushed into singing. Sometimes he’d warm up for 3 hours in the studio until he felt ready. If the studio execs tried to hurry him up, he would go even longer just to spite them.
That's so true! I remember one instance that he was in the recording studio and had to record songs for a movie, and if course he always warmed up with the musicians and back up singers singing gospel. One day before Elvis got there, the bosses told those people that they couldn't sing gospel because it was costing them money. When Elvis came in,nobody would come over to the piano to sing. Elvis asked why and they told him. He said nothing, but he was angry! He told His musicians to pack up and they left. He got his point across 😂😂 The next day he came in on time and they recorded. He showed them who was in control!😂😂 I just wish he'd done that with the rest of his career and Parker! He had the power, but wasn't secure in his abilities. I think Parker played on his insecurities and loyalty. He also knew Elvis hated confrontation of any kind. It's just so sad.
@@sandralybrand9425 yes, that lady in the audience hit his button for sure. I know!! We all wish he’d have dumped that jerk. Too sad.
This was a Tony Bennett song. Love Elvis' renditon!
OMG ...never heard this version before ! What a voice ... what a man ... TCB forever and ever !
the only time he ever performed it live
the legendary new yrs eve 1976 pittsburgh show
the last new yrs he would ever see
he began 1977 with so much wonderful hope
A rare mistake from his band and he rolled with it, like a boss. Respect.
What an incredible voice!!
One of my very favorite Elvis songs! Thank you Miss Candie & Relvis!
I had a large kidney stone blasted twice. Instant pain relief after the first time. You're gonna love this procedure, Ray. How you're working, taking care of your medical needs and running a YT channel all at the same time is beyond amazing. I hope you realize we'll stick around if you don't post for a few days here and there. Wishing you all the best!
You're welcome Kathi, I love this song so much.
@@candiehamilton9943So do I ! Thank you so much for asking for this song. I Never get tired of hearing it! Elvis was always pushing his voice to do exceptional things, and I'd say he more than succeeded!
Hi Ray, hope you're feeling a wee bit better man, I've been an Elvis fan all of my 56 year's and I've loved your reaction to his music /the man, I've got so many songs to recommend but at the moment I've a gospel songs for you "Take my hand precious lord", and if you want a longer song (5mins) "Tomorrow is a long time" written by Dylan who said that Elvis singing 1 of his songs was the highlight of his career, enjoy and you and your fam take care ✌️ 🖖 💜
❤I love this song the man put some passion in this one love our Elvis so much
Tony Bennett sang it originally. God bless you and your family. 💛
I remember the Tony Bennett version, and great for His genre, but Elvis hits home where you live with His version! Elvis didn't just sing songs he lived and felt them!
@@sandralybrand9425 agreed.

YES! THIS SUIT! OMG! A TIGER ON THE PROWL 😂😂😂
So to answer your question, Ray, it was actually Tony Bennett (may he R.I.P. 💙🙏💕 he just died a few days ago) & Percy Faith & his orchestra that first recorded "Rags To Riches" in 1953.
More info here: Rags to Riches" is a 1953 popular song by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross.
It is based on a famous Russian tune called "Volga Melody" by Yuri Shchetkov sometimes known as "Samara My Lovely Town." The bridge passage or middle 8 was inserted by the composer.
The best-known version of the song, recorded by Tony Bennett with Percy Faith and his orchestra, was number one for eight weeks on the Billboard chart in 1953 and became a gold record. In 2012, he recorded a Spanglish version with bachata singer Romeo Santos for his album Viva Duets.
Elvis recorded his version on September 22, 1970 at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee. This was part of a longer recording session that ran from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m.- 1:00 a.m. (September 23, 1970).
Before Elvis began the official recording session, there was a warm up/ jam session.
Before Elvis began the official recording session of "Rags To Riches" Elvis did a rehearsal of the song first in studio which lasted for 2 minutes and nine seconds.
Elvis finished recording "Rags To Riches" in 4 Takes with the majority of Take 4 & the 1st line from Take 3 spliced together to become the undubbed Master composite.
Back up vocal overdubbing took place on that same date.
Percussion overdubbing took place on October 28, 1970.
Elvis's recorded version of "Rags To Riches" was released in February 1971 as a single with "Where Did They Go, Lord" on the B- side.
In 1971, this single climbed to #33 on the U.S. Billboard Charts.
And that's it!
I hope this covers all bases!
Thank you, thank you very much 😉
TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕
P.S. Ray, I do believe Elvis was brought into your life for a reason ⚡❤🌹✌🙏💕
P.P.S. This concert actually took place in my Dad's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.
There is a live rendition of "Love Letters" from this same concert with fan film footage of Elvis singing "Love Letters". His voice was just so fantastic 😍💖
Very Cool info!!!

I so love this song! The studio version is fire too!
I know that this is an older video but i truly hope that your mother in law is doing well. Always sending much love and prayers. This is a beautiful song done beautifully by Elvis. Isnt it funny that even though the quality was not the best his voice is stunning nonetheless.
That was amazing , What an ending!! My goodness! The studio version is very good too. Should be heard as well. Thanks sir 😀
God is good for sure!
Please take care of yourself and rest when needed ❤We need you healthy! Hugs
Hey brother, I've never complimented you on your new video opening. That shit is fire - literally! Great job, Ray! ✌❤

Thank you Ray for another great reaction and storytime with Ray. I'm sure Elvis hits those notes every time he hears your reactions. Still praying for your dear mother in law. Let her know us Elvis fans are now her fans and will help her all we can. ❤
Great‼️ to see all reactions.....(from all the same people 😉)(means everyone is still comming back😘) Ray you are lucky.....I have a monster in law😱 😂.
ELVIS GOT ARRESTED FOR STABBING THAT ONE TO DEATH! He KILLED IT!!!! Could you imagine how many of todays artists would ask Elvis to sing their songs??
His voice makes you just cry
Miss Helene and Miss Candie - with you ladies involved, how can the studio be anything but FIRE. Can't wait to see it! Tom, the wall watch is amazing - you knew Ray needed it. Such a magnificent group - I am proud to be even a small part of it. Ray - LOVE watching those sub numbers ticking upward -I believe you have been "discovered" my guy. So much fun. I make bets with myself over how many new subs I'll see each day. 100K by the end of the year? Won't take that long, brother.🫀🙏❤
I'm with you, they are ticking up way too quickly to take that much longer to hit 100k. Much love Kathryne, to you and your family.
Dude you won't be going back to work after anesthesia so put in for a couple days of rest, you will need it and and you deserve that rest and peaceful time to recuperate from that, don't keep pushing yourself like you tell us JUST RELAX OK,PRAYERS SENT FOR YOU AND HEALING
I have this song on a single the flip side is "Where Did They Go Lord". When Elvis sings both of these songs it is total amazement. Here is the studio recording of "Rags To Riches" off of the "Love Letters" Album 1971. As a side note another magnificent song on that album is "Heart of Rome". czcams.com/video/Z8lJT49f56U/video.html
🙏 Stacys mom is feeling better today.❤
I hope you are feeling better, thank you for all you do in this channel, you make me laugh and cry all at the same time, but I love watching you,you are making me drag at work because I stay up late watching you because I can't stop watching you and do not want to cut it off and go to bed,but I love what you do here

Wow! Only time performed live.
No one else has a voice like Elvis. I’m still praying for u and ur mother in law Ray. Praying for the best. Thanks and love u and ur family ❤❤❤❤
Elvis sounds incredible here, and this was a man in pretty poor health at this stage and overworked by his despicable manager. His voice never left him.
Late 76 was good for elvis he lost 15 kilograms and was a lot more energetic
Good luck with your health !
Tell em to crank it up then and I'll come to the sound of the engine with a sign that says happy birthday Jeter.
Hope the medical appointment goes well brother.
Oh my goodness, I was just thinking about asking you to do this song this morning! Thank you Ray! I love this song!
The legend!
I haven't heard this one before
Ray, if you can take Audience Recordings (like this), I can give you a few suggestions. This concert in particular was fire. I would check out Hurt with amateur footage from the same gig if you haven't already and look out for the reprise.

Check out Margaret Taylor's comment man!
It's the best description of Elvis ever!!!

RELVIS
What’s up vibe? Have u listened to upchurch cover song of Elvis?
Michael Bars ft Ez mil... New song!!! Michael's channel
I think it's a bit of a shame that there are often pauses between such special songs as this. Elvis hasn't sung this song very often live and then he does it in a way that is really not normal. Pavarotti once said... Elvis sounds like me but I don't sound like him
this is the only time he ever performed it live
for reasons we'll never know while at the piano after finishing unchained melody he whipped this out
thats why you can hear him directing the band through the whole thing because they hadn't ever rehearsed it and had no idea he was gonna do it
it was probably because elvis was really feeling it during this new yrs eve show..the best and final show of his "in five days" tour
his last five shows of december 1976 bicentennial tour
and when he was really feeling it and was in good spirits he would often pull out a gem like this only never to perform it live again..like his only live performance of you'll never walk alone and where no one stands alone
this was a gift :)
@@belinda35_77 a gift or not. I don't think you should interrupt this song too often because this performance is too beautiful for that.
