  • This is my first true backpacking overnight experience. I find my way up the mountain and successfully summit Mount Adams with the help of more experienced hikers.

Hey! That was a memorable experience and I really don't think I would have pressed forward through the wind and rocky terrain without you leading the way. Thank you!

I like seeing the other campers too, their tents etc. All very interesting. Thanks for all your posts here.

Nice hike! at 12:29, that looks like a Moss, tent.

Oh! I see it now, the moss tent. I get it. That place is a good spot in the wild mountains. If that tent site wasn't there it would feel almost impossible to make a camp there.

Moss Tents were all the rage in the 80's/90's. I still have my Moss Outland I bought for field work in the early nineties. MSR bought them out. It looks like MSR is trying to bring back Moss' colour scheme in a model or two, so I've seen. @@RachelWhelton

If some of the statistics and number seem wrong, it is because my watch was wrong and I was looking at the watch part of the time and Gaia GPS part of the time. I have found Gaia GPS (app on phone) to be most accurate.

How long did it take to get from the summit of Adams to the campsite? I may have missed you mentioning

That is a good question and I don't clearly remember. Maybe between 1 and 2 hours? Coming down was definitely easier because all the stress and uncertainty was gone. And of course descending is just plain easier physically.
