This ? is ridicoulous....They were fortunate they even made it out of their group. You have a team w/NO leadership, NO Coach & no one who could finish....
The time to bring in the next generation was after the last Olympics. It should have been the swan song for many of the players on the USWNT roster. This should have been the WC of Mallory Swanson but she unfortunately had that horrible injury last year. Rapinoe for sure currently isn't good enough to make the Roster and there were others. I've never been a big fan of Alex Morgan's play. The USWNT has been run by the marketing department for far too long. Vladko was also a disaster since he got hired. I think the next coach should be a woman not named Jill Ellis. Carli Lloyd should be hired as an assistant because of her training, her attitude, and her approach to the game that the younger players need to learn. Megan Rapinoe is a cancer and should never step foot near the WNT again. The other older players like Ertz and O'Hara need to be moved on from for much younger players.
Vlatko has been a disaster since day one. He is the main reason we are out of the WC so early. Waiting the seconds to see the announcement of a new coach.
The USWNT think that once they step on the field the world should bow to them. I credit their early years. The bar was set by the USWNT and the world saw it and stepped up their play. The USWNT didn't see the other teams coming for them because they lost their focus on the game.
If Rapinoe scores the PK then USA wins. According to Maths profs she had a 96% chance to score & could not even hit the post or bar.
GKs are paid to save pk's so credit to Sweden.
There has never been a penalty that was out by only 1mm. The width of a strand of hair.
I teach history of footy at european universities. That pk save was a great save by the GK.
In the England game, the Chloe Kelly pk has been measured as the hardest fastest strongest shot of the season. Even Messi Kane & Ronaldo have not hit a shot harder. According to the BBC. How cool is that for the Womens game.

USWNT did not play well during the tournament. It is not about how many goals scored against "weaker" opponents. Instead, it is about how they approached the matches. Most players did not seem to be ready for the reality that USWNT is a team to beat. Underdogs' motivation become doubled.
If Sweden was so sloppy and so slow, then the fact they bashed the US, defines how truly woeful the US were and needed to be sent home.

Deserve??? What does deserve mean in a sport. The score rules. HOWEVER, with respect to the many US disrespecting feminist cliches on this team, what they deserved was being thrown of the team and not playing at all.

I know that there are a lot USWNT haters out there, but you won't find one here! I personally don't think that the U.S. should've lost to Sweden at all! I think that Sweden was very fortunate to escape with the win...and I think that Sweden knows that, as well! If you look at Shots on Goal, Shots on Target and Time of Possession, its clear that the USWNT dominated this game! In all honesty, they dominated every game that they played! Sometimes, you have to just "tip your cap" to an "Outstanding" performance and that's what Sweden's goalkeeper, Musovic had! Bottom line: I feel sorry for the next 30 or so teams that the USWNT plays...its gonna be absolutely brutal for those teams! You hide and watch!
If the US wants real competition they should financially help other teams. Jamaica started a gofund me account. USWNT could have donated 200k out of the millions they got from the men's world cup earnings.

Winning and losing is the endgame of every sport. Every loss is difficult to bear, and this is, those who are in there, in the pain of loss, may feel the heat of it. But, people instead of giving sympathy to players, and even this man, Trump is baking his cheap political bread, phew! Nonsense.
