Great videos! I really appreciate all the information and drone videos. I'll be moving to Iqaluit in a couple weeks. If I run into you a NuBrew is on me!
Dude, paint that thing neon pink, and rename it Cat, because it surely has nine lives! Lol The water crisis is real. Fresh drinking water not accessible in a first world country. In some communities they have dealt with boil water advisories for decades. Shame on us all. Wondering when our First People’s, First Nations, will come first. Your video is challenging me to continue to work to donate to my local First Nation needs, so thanks. Working on a bunch of knitted warm, winter hats for the First Nation women’s shelter in London On. Be well :)
Evan- Can you explain what you were saying about the water from the river? Do you mean you fill up jugs and bottles from the river and it safe to drink?
Hi there Alan, Yep we would bring jugs to fill along the river edge..then we had to boil it ! (Lots of heavy lifting) good thing this didn’t happen in January (river frozen over)
Hi Evan, I love the channel! I am a teacher in Ontario and have been thinking of applying to teach in Iqaluit at École des trois soleils. Your videos have been super helpful and have answered many of my worries. I was hoping you could answer a couple questions I have been wondering: Do you go home for Christmas and/or March break? Are the flights covered? Does the teaching experience still count as years of experience should I return to teaching in ON? To apply, they would like a reference from my most recent supervisor. Any tips on how to ask my supervisor to be a reference without burning a bridge? I would like to return to teach at this school later on. What are some of your biggest cons on living in Iqaluit? Thank you if you have read this far and for your help. I am almost positive I will take the plunge. It seems like such a great opportunity. Perhaps I will see you around! Take care!
Hi Evan! I really enjoy your content, and wanted to visit Iqaluit in mid February for 4 days. What do you think are my chances on seeing the northern lights during these days? Thank you!
Thanks for watching Anna ☺️ pretty high (as it’s still pretty dark then ) … however still very cold and there’s still always the risk of clouds on the days your here …but feb is fairly clear ! (That’s how it is with Northern lights hunting) 🤷♂️ But I wish you the best of luck !
Evan, My wife and I originally planned on visiting Iqaluit (via the U.S. and driving to Ottawa first) in Sept. 2020. I was able to get my flights re-booked for this July! As far as I can see, if you have proof of vaccination, you are good to go (at least for the Ottawa to Iqaluit segment). Does this seem correct or are tests required too? Want to make sure I have my ducks in a row come July (and keeping my fingers crossed things stay on this positive trajectory).
