  • This video shows how to reset a Cisco wireless access point to factory defaults. IOS based APs such as the 2802, 9120, 9166 can be reset by running the command 'capwap ap erase all' from the CLI.
APs can also be reset by connecting power to the AP and immediately pressing and holding the mode button for 20 seconds.
The steps shown in the video should work on many models of AP, such as:
    AIR-CAP2702I-A-K9
    AIR-CAP3702I-A-K9
    AIR-AP2802I-A-K9
    AIR-AP3802I-A-K9
    C9105AXI-B
    C9115AXI-B
    C9120AXI-B
    C9130AXI-B
    CW9162-B
    CW9164-B
    CW9166-B

3702i Autonomous Mode. Beware that there is a bug in newer firmware that causes Error 404 when trying to save settings on the GUI. Just roll back to an earlier firmware. Cisco will never fix it. ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JF.tar will work. Also, you must go into console and set the secret pw and enable http after.
