What I need is to listen at those different types of coughing... at least samples of how each coughing sound. Are there any videos of that?

What's scary is you are correct. I can't tell you how many times I've taken my dogs in and the vets never really know for sure what's wrong. I've had TWO dogs die of cancer and BOTH times the vets were way off right from the begining until almost the very end.
Typical vet visit...blood work..maybe x-rays...meds and then they hope problem goes away on its own.
Dogs can't talk unfortunately so a vet is just and educated guesser.

I could have told you that much and I'm no vet!! The next time I need help I'll pull up "How to Paint a Tulip", it would tell me as much as you did about the cough my dog has!!

I had a Dog who two Doctor's said she has congestive heart failure and was given two weeks to live. The Dr put her on a drug, call Vasoteck, not sure of the spelling but happily she lived 5 years more.
The medicine was very expensive but I was in turn made very happy.I have found out through life that the person who came up with a "A Dog is man's best friend" is so very very true..

That was completely bullshit! The description made it sound as if it was going to show examples of coughs. Obviously we know to take our dogs to vet. We are watching so we can know what to expect, or have an idea of it.

Our dog coughs but my husband said that it is fur from him licking/chewing on himself (when he itches). He also said that it could be his medicine.

Some of us can't get our dogs to the vet. (Yes I know this is an old post). My dog bolts when I try to pet him. There's no way I could get him in my car. (we've only had him for a few months - he came to us after the neighbors left and abandoned him)

Some coughs could be from short term exposure, not a viral or infectious disease.
A stethoscope can help to audibly hear inside lungs and heart without visual aids like an MRI or (CT) scan.
Left side, right side, lower lobes, upper lobes.
Where is the issue with the animal?
      Could it be lung cancer?
Stethoscopes are $40, your vet may be $400, but you didn’t study veterinary medicine did you?

I just got a dog who has been through a lot. A friend went a picked him up for me and I notice he has had problems breathing and I thought it was just because he has a short nose. He is a Pekingese. He is coughing and sneezing he also has a runny nose. I want to take him to a vet, but $ has been tight and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place that is cheap or will at least work w/ me...

Well we have to remember humanity is first priority, though even then science is inhibited by people who think it has reality wrong, or some other ordeal. So we not only have to take care of human biology first, but we also have slow progress when it comes to even human biology. The slow progress is a product of people who oppose stem cells, and other methods that are pretty much inevitable cures, etc.

It won't let me play this vid some reason BUT seriously tho, coughing can be for MANY reasons. Collapsing trachea, kennel cough,HEARTWORMS,heart defects, choking, etc. Some breeds(ex.king cavalier spaniels) do it from genetics. Some dogs do it from excitability even. Dog coughs, document it and speak to a vet. Self diagnosing w/o knowing more than 2-3 things that could cause it is dangerous. Don't do it. }=/

So essentially you are admitting you are part of the problem of horrible suffering humans endure as opposed to being part of the solution?
You'd rather cure dog cancer, than cure cancer infecting children. You and people like you sir are what's wrong with this world.

SMH.. So, hopefully you all have grown up in the 8 years or so since you wrote these comments.. at least enough to understand it could be any number of conditions ranging from the not so scary to serious.. this vet was just telling people that there is many reasons a dog can be coughing, to try and diagnose at home is as irresponsible as trying to diagnose cancer by watching CZcams videos lol.. which is why he probably didn't show everyone every single type of cough, he just explained them.. if you can't tell a dry hacking cough from a wet mucusy one, then perhaps you have no business trying to diagnose your own pet.. I mean, all those years of vet school can't be made up for in a two minute video lol

Simple fact is, where there is flu shots=decreased flu
