Patching holes in the state budget with debt is something that responsible politicians should avoid. Debts are supposed to be used to bridge wars, pandemics or crises, but most importantly the borrowed money should go into productive investment, says US economic historian Barry Eichengreen in an interview with PFI Talks. The interview is conducted by Leoš Rousek, PPF's communications director and former Wall Street Journal journalist.
