There is actually a much quicker fix just to add to your list of ideas. I take a piece of scrap 1/2 or 3/4 (depending on the hose size) copper tubing, flare both ends not completely but enough to create a stop. sand any sharp edge. insert into the hose pieces and hose clamp or wire, either way. Works for me in a pinch.

La verdad si sirven si estas en lugar donde no ay donde comprar ahi mero con segueta se corta y se amarra con alambre si no ay cinchos cuando ay ferreterías se compra pero los tips que da son buenos a muchos en el rancho o en lugares donde no ay nada ay que hacerle al maguiver y salir adelante buen tutorial sencillo pero bueno saludos amigo

you need a tie wrapping cutting tool to cut tie right- It makes them tighter and you will not cut yourself from the part you left behind
I have one, you can adjust the tension and they leave a smooth cut.
A hose connector with two clips is worth less than two euros!!!!!!

Correct me if I am wrong. However, I count three fixes without buying an adapter, the fourth fix is a "Trumper" store bought adapter.
4th one is a purchased adapter, correct?

buy a new pipe may be more easy and all these connection will be disconnected when water pressure is high.

(1) pvc, pvc cutter, threader, stove, wire, zippy, & time
vs
(2) $1.50 black joiner at bunnings, zippy & time

So instead of going out to purchase a connector you have to purchase PVC pipe, PVC glue, a heat gun and wire. What percentage of the population have all that stuff on hand? Maybe 5%.
I would wager that almost all home owners who do some of their own yardwork have pieces of PVC and glue sitting in their shed from past projects.
