"With The Wild Crowd!" was recorded at the Classic Center in the B-52s hometown of Athens, Georgia in February 2011. The gig celebrated the 34th anniversary of their first ever live show on Valentine's Day 1977. A B-52s live show is always the best party in town, yet here in front of their home crowd they even managed to turn it up a notch further. This is unashamed good time rock 'n' roll packed with great tunes, wild romance and a lot of fun. Fantastic musicianship is added to the trademark vocals of Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson to deliver the unmistakeable B-52s sound as they deliver a set list packed with classic songs. Simply unmissable.

@@Tessmage_Tessera It's a great song and the vocals are perfectly fine for what it is. In my opinion, they both have serviceable vocals. I think music and singing are highly subjective though. To a select few folks, they sound amazing. To most, they sound...fine. Think about it: What famous female vocalists couldn't sing those parts. If you say virtually all of them, you are correct.
I'm 60yrs old & do vocals & guitar in a Pink Floyd tribute group, and it's really difficult to keep it up at my age! Theses guys are 63, 70, & 73 and are full of energy & can still hit it on their vocals!! I wish I'd known about this concert so I could've tried to go! They were so unique!

This came out in 1978... 34 years before this performance. When you think about bands that age, the B-52s still have their old sound and it is pretty amazing how close they come back to it even without Ricky Wilson who died many years ago.
@Steamed Hams I think many do, but they have succeeded wildly without him because of one member who plays the guitar the same way Ricky did.

That's because Keith Strickland specifically spent time to learn to play exactly as Ricky did in the two year hiatus they took following Ricky's death (if I remember the details correctly).

I saw them in Manchester, couple of years ago, totally amazing. Looked and sounded great.

This was at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, their hometown. All the clubs, in that music town, have a unique sound and spirit.

Thirty-six years passed between the first time I heard a B52s song and getting to finally see them perform live. Tried seeing them on earlier tours, each time some problem prevented me from going. Finally, at the Tobin Center is an Antonio, after thirty-six years, I found myself standing third row directly in front of Cindy. The girls hit every note, spot on with every Eee-eek and wha-wha-whaaa animal sound. When Cindy sang Give Me Back My Man it was no less passionate than it was in 1980, maybe even more so. Amazing talent, all.
they are amazing. they perform all the time here in San Diego. It was great to see them at my county fair. they love music so much and it translates live.

I love this. When this song was first released back in the late 1970s, I found it so well done and so unusual that I became an instant fan. And my intuition only proved to me correct as they were just getting rolling.

I was in college when this came out (so you can tell we're in the age ballpark) - it was such a wild kick in the butt - it woke everyone up from the early 80s doldrums. And the looked so provocative at the time with the crazy bee hives and this wonderfully ambiguous (at the time) lead singer.
And the incredible thing is that now, 40+ years later, they sound the same!!! UN-freaking-Believable.. Rock on Rock Lobster....
