    Dear Daylane. Many thanks for your support. That was a fundamental part of the speech, how to pronounce a letter. I started learning French last year.     I always forget what the aigu and grave are. I usually call them 'up the mountain' and 'down the hill'. Merci beaucoup for putting this course together. It really is helpful, even as a refresher!

      @@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I remember aigu (up the hill) as the sound is more closed (like going out of breath) ’ where as accent grave (down the hill) sounded like it was relaxed ‘ (when first wrote this comment I had it the other way around lol)

I am also part Argentino because I lived in Buenos Aires for 20 years as a tango dancer. If you go to Mexico, please be VERY, VERY careful, vaccination is not as prevalent as it is in the USA or other parts of the world. Take care and continue your excellent French teaching. Chau!

      The first thing you should do is to learn pronunciation so you are on the right track ;) After that, learn French and take the time you need. Quickly for a language is not a greta idea 😉

    I'm really enjoying this course I've wanted to learn french for a long time. I do have a question which I'll try to ask but typing something isn't the same as verbally asking a question so here goes. When I hear certain word combinations for example un etudiant it sounds (to me) like un nae etudiant. Almost like an n sound before the noun. Thank you again for teaching this course and I purchased the book that goes along with the pronunciation course it is really helpful.

    Dylane- This capsule/video was really an excellent one. Tres bien. Now I know how it is pronounced. I struggled with this for last 3 months. Waiting for day 3 video. Thanks a lot/merci beaucoup! :-)
    One correction though Dylane - the slant goes towards the right on alphabet 'E' and not towards left as said.

    You are a great teacher. Please, what grammar book can I buy that teaches the accents in more detail eg. Like when and how to place the accents on their respective letters especially accent aigu and grave

    That you put the English soundex of the French words and letters being taught
    Below the French spelling
    Because some fellows can’t always understand certain words and word endings
    Of a foreign language
    Till they understand what is being pronounce

    Hi! I actually think that the é sound is closer to ‘ey’ than it is to ‘ay’. It’s very subtle, but I think that describes why you say it is like ‘ay’ but shorter. I think of how it sounds when we say ‘hey’ versus ‘hay.’ Did anyone else

    Hello from India, I have just started learning French and thank you for teaching every step so brilliantly🥰. One funny part I wanted to point out is when you said "To Listen" in French... It sounded like a Hindi word "Ae Kutte" which means You Dog. 😂

    This is a great series, I'm on my second time through.
    If english speaking people use the word école, they seem to put the stress on "-cole" but you put the stress on "é-". Is there a rule here?
    I couldn't hear where the stress was on "élève".

      The stress is mostly at the end of the word in French. Here I over pronounce the sounds that's probably why you hear the stress on é ;)

      It's supposed to be but they are giving me a very hard time. They make me change something every day and reapply. Since it has to be reviewed manually, it always take 24h. I have been on it for 10 days now, but I hope that today is going to be the day 😅

      É ne peut pas faire de liaison, mais le son É par EZ - ER peut faire la liaison. Regarde les leçons à propos du son É et à propos des liaisons

    One question
    While "Une" is used as "A" for writing "A school" or "A television" then why "Un" is only used for writing "A couch"? Can you please explain it will be helpful.. Thank You.

      Because nouns have gender in French :) Une is feminine and is followed by a feminine noun (école/télévision) - Un is masculine and is followed by a masculine noun (canapé). Let me know if you need more help with it :)

    comme un étudiant avec aucun l'argent ces videos sont l'or. Je pensais la prononciation été comme "I" en anglais ensuite quelque il change de à "ay". Luckily I decided to go back to the basic to make the language click.

    The accent is to the right for é. I know it may be a pain to redo the video but it is important to have the students understand the true difference between é and è.

      Technically they are synonyms but we use "élève" more for kids / teenagers , and "étudiant" for adults.

    I have a question---- why the 'n' in 'un étudiante' and 'un élève' combines with 'é', but the 't' in 'accent aigu' doesn't combine with 'a'???... Such types of joining really confused me!

    The accent aigu is pronounced like the English (A) but much shorter

    I think you're ignoring the fact that there is a stop at the end of this letter. It's not hay, it's more like he-
