- NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 is now out on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Let's find out as I take a look at NBA Playgrounds 2 on the Switch and find out why I went from planning a full review to being disgusted and not reviewing it.

Remember when games had to pack in as much stuff as possible into them to convince us to buy the game? Cheat codes, unlockables, hidden secrets, etc. Nowadays it seems most games are just bare-bones skeletons you have to keep shoveling money into to give the game some actual meat to it.
yeah, and maybe that is why Nintendo games are usually $60 to begin with
So damn true
@@TheActs2021 yep, and it explains why they never lose value generally whereas almost every AAA 3rd party game nowadays has no value after maybe a month or so after release...
Yeap those were the good ole days.
As long as they pay IGN and GameSpot to not mention it. They're good.
This is lame. You have in game currency this difficult to obtain to encourage you to buy it for real cash..... The game should be free to play in that case.
well 2k bought it out, we know where this was going
@@AlexCole272 exactly. It's no surprise really. As soon as I saw"DO NOT BUY", I already knew why.
I knew why too! Damn shame
Madlittlepixel you’re very correct
Apparently card packs are easier to unlock with season mode, and you unlock legends easier. Plus, apparently there are few were instances of repeat cards. That’s according to IGN.
I miss NBA street
The shoot Is true and it taste good too!
HOME COURT > ALL
alejandro benavidez you telling me
I wish they would bring it back I wouldnt mind them adding it to the e-shop
Nba lives the one is similiar, yes very different but similiar. Nba 2k doesn't count because its pay to play the court mode.
I got a gold pack in 10 mins like what do u mean brother
how
Im thinking the same like wtf, i mean it takes me usually an hour or two for one pack but thats it, it dont take that long
Yeah packs are super easy to get for me
These packs are easy to get u liar
Maybe they added an update that changed it?
This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He bases the whole video on the fact that it is really hard to get players, he says, “I’ve been playing for over an hour and I’ve only gotten one bronze player pack” he’s just playing the wrong game mode. Bronze packs are 1,500 baller bucks (the currency with the basketball icon), and in ONE seasons game I got 1,100+ baller bucks. Also keep in mind that the golden bucks (the gold currency icon, the currency that you need to unlock the full roster) you can get by playing online. While you don’t get an insane surplus per game, it is not totally impossible to get the unlock full roster without spending a penny. You also forgot to mention the fact that you can get players with baller bucks. Yes the unlock all players option is bad but this is one of the very very limited games where skill will win no matter what. Me and my friend have been playing and with Luc Longley (former Bulls center, nobody knows who he is) and Peja Stojakovich, and we’re destroying people that bought the full roster. It’s like telling people that COD sucks since you can get better guns just for money. While this is true, the guns that COD provides for you are very good (if not better) than these “pay-to-win” guns. A player WITH SKILL can overcome it. I finished 200-40 in Playgrounds 1 and I’m destroying in this game. I love it, and skill gap is more prominent than ever. If you want to play a game that rewards you like no other then I suggest you get it, don’t base you’re decision solely on what this guy has to say.
+Hi Hola what would the game actually be without microtransactions? it was probably created around microtransactions so they extend the time it would take to unlock something to push you towards paying so the game is not what it actually would have been naturally and paying to unlock players in a paid game is lame, did they earn that player or did they pay? 3on3 freestyle is a fun basketball game on the ps4 that is free to play and it is amazing, that is the game you should play, nba playgrounds is $30 with microtrasactions so they hope you would spend more than $30, take two interactive does not have enough money just to make a regular game with no microtransactions
RogBka ME I agree 100% about the micro transactions, and I also think that they need to be taken out ASAP. But what I’m saying is that this game doesn’t really require you to buy the micro transactions and spend money. You can earn all of these players very easily. Basically the full roster unlock is for people that want a cop-out, and don’t wanna play through the game and have fun. At least it’s not like 2K MyCareer where you can have a 99 OVR and beat everybody just because you are a better overall and spent money, this game doesn’t work like that.
bobby schmidt players are very easy to unlock in this game, you can get every legend in the game for 25,000 baller bucks (no IRL money required). I’ve gotten 25,000 baller bucks in a day, it’s not hard at all.
This comment is so much better than the review. I totally agree.
Hi Hola Ronnie2K is that you?
Literally could not disagree with this more, just bought the game, it is amazing, forget exhibition match! I played season for like an hour got two gold packs and almost enough for a swag pack. Play the game more.
John Gerovasilis exactly bro
John Gerovasilis me and my friend are thinking about buying it, do you think it’s a good game to play with your friends and play championships and stuff?
It's a really fun game to play with friends, and about the packs, my friend and I played a two person season 3 times and ended up with enough to buy several packs and had some solid draws. Fun game. You can make a strong team without spending a cent
John Gero, i couldn‘t agree with you More! I play the maxed Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry Duo Combo and I am getting Minimum 4000 baller bucks per game. It’s just a real fun game and my friends and me play it a lot!
Ya plus it's fun for a hard grind because if it were easy enough to unlock all the characters in like 3 days it wouldn't be fun anymore
Game is very fun, in a few hours of playing I had opened about 6 silver packs already. Part of the fun is unlocking characters and upgrading them.
I started playing this game some days ago and totally agree with you.
Started playing yesterday agree 100% ain’t that hard to unlock if u play season
@@sleevelessace7920 exactly
Facts been playing this game for 9 months. Almost have every player unlocked
I want this game more now. I want a game that takes some work to get through. I want to play the season mode, not just boring exhibitions. This guy is ridiculous.
Why not both. It's an exhibition game to start with anyway, that targets that audience population
Don't understand why 2K isn't being criticized more for their practices. To me, their micro transactions are the worst in the industry. You can't simply enjoy a 2K game that you've already purchased. Almost always have to pay out extra money in order to have a decent experience.
Yes u can
Yeah. And after the success of GTA Online, Take 2 Interactive (who owns Rockstar and 2K Games) has said that they will be putting microtransactions in all their games, moving forward. So, Borderlands 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 should be suuuuper fun. Not.
This game, right here, and how it's designed, is what we should probably expect when BL3 and RDR2 are released. Exciting, isn't it? Pfft.
Yea they should be getting hammered like Star War Battlefront did
SpawnQuestGaming yeah the new WWE 2K19 is impossible to unlock everything without unlocking them with real money....2K is getting worse and worse
@@jasoncupskey1465 not to defend this practice too much, but it only costs 5 dollars to unlock every character at once... Which is pretty game by industry standards... Kinda sad really
he literally plays like one game and expects to get the whole roster like wtf
Egg YT swear bro what’s wrong wit him I like the grind it’s not hard at all
back in my days...
Yeah, I expect to get the whole roster when I buy a sports game.
Paul Clinton the point of the game is to unlock players....
At least they could do a nba jam ofe and give you a decent roster amd save thesuperstars and youtubers for unlocks
I remember as a kid I loved unlocking stuff in games. Seems now adays that if everything isnt unlocked from the start, people get mad. You wouldn't have made it in the n64-ps2/gamecube era man.
Also, I unlocked the whole roster in maybe 3 days just by playing. It isn't very hard and it actually is pretty cool opening a pack and getting your favorite players
Yeah, it's kind of disappointing to see that actually -playing- a game now is considered a grind.
I personally love this game. First of all you do not play exhibition games to earn in game currency, it takes too long, you play through the season that way you can also level up your players faster. Second who cares about unlocking the entire roster all at once? I believe that part of the fun is doing it yourself with in game currency, sure it's a grind but fun and gives you a good (not great) sense of achievement. I'm personally sick of people winging about this game, don't like it? Don't play it.
There are 0 reasons to not include all players from the first time you turn the game on. I can’t believe the Stockholm syndrome that you and other players exhibit: companies ship half-finished games, with most of the (already completed) content locked behind a paywall … and you defend them? You must have the brainpower of a broken toaster.
Rip modern gaming
Just need to ensure we aren't supporting this bs, I have not bought any of these heavy microtransaction games and neither should anyone or it'll just get worse
Same I boycotted shadow of war. Only bought it AFTER they removed the microtransactions.
lil mayo there’s no micro transactions as you don’t have to use real money to open the packs and you can easily grind to open the gold packs playing season mode and I have a Xbox one
good thing we have games like RDR2 and Spiderman
You can use a emulator thats what im doing
Damn shame another game got ruined by microtransactions.
BranSmith I’m glad I’m older and don’t care too much about modern gaming. I’ll stick to retro gaming
@@Nobunaga1983 have fun bro. I honestly don't blame you. Games were much more creative and risky back then.
David Steck I'm not old and I will stick to retro gaming too. I discovered them by pure luck and I'm so happy I did. I recommend you to play Journey to Silius. Great NES game, very underrated.
@@frataltay4543 Retro for the Win.
@@Nobunaga1983 you don't have to stick to retro. Many Indie games are pretty much the spiritual successors to games from that era.
I’ve been playing for a couple of days now, and have unlocked numerous legends, epics, and normal players. I’ve done this by playing the seasons mode. If you actually play the game and try to earn the currency, it’s very easy to rack up a good amount. Bronze packs are the way to go as I haven’t noticed too much of a disparity in pack odds. It is very easy to unlock a lot of players if you are good at the game and play a bit. If it takes you an hour to get one bronze pack, you may need to re-evaluate your skill level.
I’m from belgium. I buyed this game 3 days ago and hah 13 legends and a lot of epics and didn’t buy anything
@Peighnis Honourchignhe’s from Belgium maybe he doesn’t have good English,
Yeah we all knew this was coming. What a joke modern gaming has become.
Still gonna buy Anthem when it comes out
Atleast Bioware have said there will not be any of that micro transactions in the game
So that will be fun
If you think Anthem won't have paid crap, you're out your mind.
@@Yusei255 - and that is the problem people still buying these crap games, then are amazed when these companies turn up the greed even further... Anthem is not gonna be anything different, and you will have to stop buying these crap games before there will be a change... save your money and go on a vacation or something instead, anything but spend it on crap games.
DR.JackobyUK I haven’t brought any new games since the Xbox 360. Iv gone right back to retro gaming. Modern gaming has gone down the crapper!
@@LeeBondo yeah you're just living in the past then. Nintendo still makes quality games, and Sony has some exclusive games that have campaigns that are absolutely worth buying. It's mostly 3rd party AAA BS that is loaded with mocrotransactions, and I'm thinking they're only doing it because its getting harder and harder to convince people to buy their games, and they don't have consoles like the big guys to fall back on....
2k vs. EA: You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
16000 virtual console....that's a lot of consoles.
Lol
There might be a new update because it is July of 2019 but I've been playing for 2 days and i have opened about 5-8 packs. Please let me know if anyone else gets a lot of packs easily :)
Andre Cadogan just got it and had an update.. Started the game with 4 packs 1 gold, 1 swag, 2 bronze.. Off top got Scottie Pippen, mutombo, Grant Hill.. Good outfits a few other players been having fun
. It's on sale right now at gamestop 15$ physical til July 20th 🏀
Just bought this and 2k19 on sale yesterday. It was only around 25$ with both games included.. They must have changed some things because I started out with enough currency to unlock all the players, and I think they also made the packs cheaper or give out more currency after games.. The gameplay is a lot better than I expected, and if you can get it on sale, Id recommend it.
Damn! I was worried about this when 2K acquired them. I was going to download this hoping it would be better then last years. Maybe I'll get it during a sale or something. I appreciate the honest review.
Pfft.
It wasn't a review. It was a rant. He did not give this game enough of a chance because he simply could not get passed the microtransaction. I bought the game during the Black Friday sale. It cost me close to $20. It really is a fun game. People are so worried about the grinding but for those impatient to unlock all the players, just pay the extra $10. It is equivalent to the season pass DLC that many fighting games have which unlocks all and future fighters. For me, it doesn't feel like grinding. You are having fun playing either against the AI or real people online. All the while, your players are gaining xp points which is another neat aspect to the game (I love rpgs in general).
Do you notice shooting 3s seems way off compared to the first playgrounds ? I have Steve Nash up to 99 and I still can’t hit a 3 even when I’m right in the middle of the shot meter ( which is still red for some reason ).
I suppose this game packs have son odds to reward players. and what happens when u get a player u already have?
I knew something was going on. I had a feeling that this microtransaction bullshit was the reason that 2K acquired the rights to NBA Playgrounds.
Yeah. And after the success of GTA Online, Take 2 Interactive (who owns Rockstar and 2K Games) has said that they will be putting microtransactions in all their games, moving forward. So, Borderlands 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 should be suuuuper fun. Not.

Well for the Xbox there isn’t no micro transactions as I tried to see when I didn’t have enough to open a pack and it didn’t take me to a store to pay for a pack so I just grinded on season mode and got some great gold packs openings
took you more than half the video to actually get to the point. For almost 6 minutes you were repeating the same thing, come on now..
Josh Arrow. For real. RGT85 love ya bro but all your videos do not need to be 10 minutes in length.
He’s certainly more of a amateur in terms of the dialogue in his videos. I think he should try and write some scripts for at least his planned videos.
They're 10minutes long so he can get revenue from CZcams.
Look around and you'll see most videos are 10:05, 10:04, etc. It's not by coincidence.
Interesting. Well I can understand why he would want it to be this long but the repetition is kinda painful. Also, I find he will use words and terms he doesn’t seem to understand properly. Although there’s a certain charm to him raw approach.
@@Heater23 i agree
Correct me if Im wrong, but it seems like for $10 you can unlock ALL players? Is that bad?
Well thanks for this review and allowing me to save $30, or $50 for the full game depending how much those 5000 credits for the full roster cost. If they fix the progression system will you release an updated review?
I played two seasons with different teams. I spent almost two hours, i won like 20000 baller bucks. If you want to talk about grind, do it properly, know the game. I wont say that the microtransactions are good, i will never say that, but this is no pay to win i tell you that for sure. And the grinding it doesnt feel impossible or frustrating, it feels like old games where you had to play to unlock some players. Let people do what they want to, dont tell them what to do if you havent even remotely explored the game because you are being a lazy reviewer that just rants about how you played one game and you didnt get a million coins or whatever. Sorry for the bad english, im not native, and sorry if it offends you, im trying to be constructive. Gaming industry needs good reviewers.
This game is awesome such fun even years later and the animation style is crazy cool a shame no one plays it anymore so fun still
What is a review copy do you get the game forever or is limited time
Thanks for the honest review! I'll keep playing the original NBA Playgrounds since I'm still trying to get Magic and Bird. Better yet, I can also play some NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and unlock all the legendary players using points you get from actually playing the game.
In-game purchases man... Easiest way to ruin a game. It's like placing a dog turd on top of a slice of pecan pie.
Rob Fehily 🤣
I dsagree with you! I played a game for a bit of time. I opened like 5-10 gold packs and a hole lot of bronze packs. I have the half roster unlocked (even half of the legend players) in like 20 hours. Play the season mode, u will get a lot of baller bucks there, also every level up grants me like 2000 baller bucks. This game is not bad at all at the economy side.
How many points do you get for playing season games?
Just starting the video...The first one was good, especially after all the proper updates. So this one must be 10X worse?
Glad I saw this before buying. Definitely wouldn't have spent money to get virtual currency. I guess if I want to play this I will play last years.
I just played some season matches and 1 online match and you definitely get more xp, baller bucks and even got 10 gold coins ( the gold coins was from online competitive), I won the online match so I'm guessing its less for losing. It isn't THAT bad but I understand your anger
Can you play team online or is it only versus if it’s online?
If you start an nba season you get about 700-1200 balls per every game you win
I knew this was gonna happen as soon as 2K’s name was tied to it
This is a free to play mobile game outline but for $20.
30 euros bro...
Yep, and all marketed to children with the cutesy cartoon players and IMO very well designed card packs.
29.99 actually
Any chance points are earned at a higher rate in modes other than exhibition?
Is this worth it to get on the Eshop for 7.49?
If anyone owns this or any other 2K games, i recommend hitting them where it counts. in reviews of their games. it worked against Take Two/2K before with gta V, and we can make it work here.
OutOfTheShadows Or just don’t buy them. And if you did buy it demand a refund
The last 2K game i bought was NBA 2K14 so my word literally won't mean anything
The big reviewers perhaps. Some of the smaller CZcams channels reports were accurate. I bought it and have leveled up to 25 so far and it does not feel grindy.
It did not work on gta lmao, but also gta v is not a cash grab it is well worth the price. More than any game.
Ivan Magaña i meant with the mods, man.
Was thinking of buying it for the Switch and Xbox One. I might be saving that cash.
It’s actually a good game lmao
It’s a good game
Just buy the first one instead
Nate Haviland the game isn't available anymore as a digital download for the Nintendo Switch unfortunately.
This game is awesome! I have every Legend unlocked & it didn't even take that long.
Another thing to know is that you can make a crap ton of baller tokens from streaks steals blocks and made shots. Also your baller tokens pg vary greatly by level
I'm still shocked that something as simple as crowd reaction to Plays is missing from the switch version. They had plenty of time to work on this since last release... we've had games with far more GPU and CPU intensive things going on. It's a small thing but it's the details that show how hard someone worked.. and this looks like very little progress overall compared to last year.
"Virtual Console"
I'm sure it's "Virtual Currency"
Actually, the normal baller bucks you get those based on your performance in games. The more you perform, the bigger the baller bucks you get. I got tons of vids of me balling and earn big baller bucks. Plus, this is a game here you need to play the games to level up the players from bronze to gold to diamond. I'm enjoying the game myself.
I totally agree. I haven't paid for anything, and have leveled up my Raptors to the entire team!
How do you feel about Starlink: Battle for Atlas?
does the game have 4 player battle? 2 versus 2 local offline ? ps4 version
@ninja neo
yes i just bought it for $7
and it has 2 vs 2 local and
online with friends
I bought this game yesterday, it was 5 bucks on psn, it wasn't that difficult to obtain players, you can also buy them for separate, i got jordan of course and scotty pipen by beating the tournament on easy level. I will get them all little by little, its playing so idk.
It sucks you can't even buy the first one now it's not on PS store or eShop anymore
You should be able to redownload if you already purchased it I think they're just not allowing any new purchase of the first game to force people to buy the new game
Wow that's complete bullsh*t.
Travis V AND PEOPLE FUCKING BUY IT. Not only am I amazed by 2ks complete anti consumer moves, PEOPLE ARE BUYING IT. People defend paying money for a game, only to have to pay more to actually enjoy themselves. It's ridiculous.
I'm not sure which are more stupid, people or 2k.
@@prowlingtiger2226 Actually 2k is not that stupid. Just really greedy.
That’s why you save up the money make by playing the games 🙄 it is so much easier to get players than last game cause you don’t run out of seasons
It seems they also took the original off the eshop because when i went through my wishlist ,and selected it the eshop said it was no long available
Can i uninstall roster unlock dlc on the original nba playgrounds? Im on nintendo switch. I want to uninstall roster unlock so i can earn the players the good old hard way(and to a lot of people the fun way). Pls????????????????
I was a huge fan of the original and then as soon as I saw it pop up, I bought it, it is currently downloading as I’m watching your video... now I don’t know how to feel...
Serves you right for buying a digital game...
Call nintendo. You can get a one time refund
Manuel Zarate Jr must feel like a sucker haha
and thats why you never ever download a game blindly.
You can enjoy it, it is actually a really funny
Just don’t buy the vc. They want the game to have longevity but for the people who don’t have the patience they gave y’all a way out. I like grinding on the game even though it may take a little longer than I would like. Still it’s a great game.
Totally agree with you. I payed £20 here in the UK for a physical copy and feel it's great value for money. This will be a great game to play local co op with a beer and my mates not to mention the full season mode and online play. Lets face it this is a Arcade game so I like the fact that nothing is totally hidden behind a paywall like may other games including AAA titles that are totally unabtainable with out real money. The grind will be part of the fun to get the players you want . Will easily rack up the currency playing games online.
It's not a question of waiting everything right away. It's just that it's waaaaay too much of a grind. Imagine having players you don't enjoy playing with for most of that grind, because hey, it's card packs, not guaranteed players... So now you have to grind for hundreds of hours while maybe not really enjoying what you are given. If they allowed you to grind to buy a specific character then sure, I wouldn't complain as much, but grinding to buy a pack? Nah sorry, on the 2K series it was already bullshit, so it's still bullshit here
@@kirezar He didn't show you that you can unlock any player you like if you decide you don't like the random packs Legends like Jordan are 25k baller points which are earned naturally while playing . While everyone else are much cheaper.
Oh if that is the case then yeah sure. I still think it's a heck of a grind but that makes it a bit more acceptable
@@kirezar You have your wish...Yes, you can spend baller points (which you get for playing any of the modes in the game) towards any one of the characters.
Really, I’m not surprised. As soon as you said 2K got the license to Playgrounds, I knew what was about to happen.
Is Jordan playable in Both games or just part 2?
That’s terrible these game developers should be ashamed of themselves!!!!! I’m going back to my Nintendo 64

@@Rayan-id3gk fr like i actually am glad that u have a challenge to be able to unlock characters and it feels good when u get a legend or higher like if it was easy the game would get boring af

Aw man, I was expecting this to be as good as the NBA Jam series.
Sean, thank you for warning us NOT to buy NBA 2K Playgrounds.
U probably payed $60 + $40 to play NBA 2k my park huh?
Yet not willing to spend $30 + 10 to unlock all players.
Rest stuff is cosmetic.
Dont make u any better.
The reviewer is chatting rubbish. It's actually a really good game. I've unlocked 1/2 the roster without spending any money.
Typical 2K, making the grind nauseatingly long just to make you feel like you should fork over a little cash to help you unlock things faster. Hopefully they see this feedback and make unlocking things a bit easier shortly with an update.
Is there a physical version?
Hold on, do you know how do do what your doing before you review it
$40 price tag already had me second guessing. I'll pass.
Oh damn, well never mind on this game.. that sucks..
You're regurgitating RGTs opinion. Then telling people not to listen to that opinion...
@Stuck in the 90s if I ever meet you I'm punching you in the face for the betrayal
MechE11B its not his opinion on the game, it’s the micro transactions in this game. I got the first NBA PLAYGROUNDS.. I was looking forward to this game but micro transactions what killed it..
@Stuck in the 90s i agree with you on this one and commented on the main page. Buy it, play the harder modes like season mode and you get FAR more xp than in exhibition mode. Looking at it realistically exhibition is to learn the basics and you have to do some challenges on exhibition to level up your player. The grind IS very real but lets put it this way you get more xp doing a 3 point contest which takes 2 minutes than an exhibition. You've just gotta find a mode you enjoy that gives good xp and go from there
@Stuck in the 90s yeah but its still immoral and obviously is focused on manipulating you into spending more money. i dont have any respect for people who do that nor am i going to give there game my time. Im not spending that cash to play just a tiny part of the game
What made the original NBA Jam good was the physics of the ball going thru the hoop. The camera focused on the ball. Now it looks like the rim in Double Dribble .
How do you get your shot meter like that?
You know what? I saw this video a couple months ago and didn’t buy the game. Then I saw it on sale a week or two ago and decided to take a chance on it. Glad I did. The game is great, arguably the best sports game released last fall. And I don't find the grind to be frustrating at all, currency to unlock new players is actually pretty generous. Sorry I waited so long to grab this gem.
Dudes a level three you haven't been playing for a long time
This is precisely why i find myself visiting older games.
He's lying whenever he says he played for an hour and only got a bronze pack unless he counts sitting in the menus as playing lmao. Anyone who has played this knows it's easy to get Baller Bucks to buy packs and actually makes the game more fun colleting.
Over reacting ... Every game has this kind of thing now.
I’m playing the game now and it’s not that hard to unlock players. Your full of crap
Yeah, he wack asf too
It's hard to make 3pointers on this game. I have not updated it yet. So idk if it might help
How is 2K19?
I guess that’s why it’s only $17 new at GameStop. I been playin it, reminds me of NBA streets.
Ok i see your point BUT Me personally i dont mind them doing this . It actually sounds great to play the game and have to grind to unlock characters. I never had that in a game and i look forward to putting a lot of matches against the computer freiends and my kids . By play your unlock things constantly. Sorry RGT85 I love this idea. Not for everybody but i love the idea. Will be picking this game up right now.
+Animated- Psycho what would the game actually be without microtransactions? it was probably created around microtransactions so they extend the time it would take to unlock something to push you towards paying so the game is not what it actually would have been naturally and paying to unlock players in a paid game is lame, did they earn that player or did they pay? 3on3 freestyle is a fun basketball game on the ps4 that is free to play and it is amazing, that is the game you should play, nba playgrounds is $30 with microtrasactions so they hope you would spend more than $30, take two interactive does not have enough money just to make a regular game with no microtransactions
can 4 friends play a 2vs2 online? as friendly game ?
Would you spend 8 dollars on this game? It’s on sale on Nintendo Eshop?
Yeah I wanna know too
There’s something called grinding do you just want all the Characters for free.
This game is very fun by yourself and with friends it is incredible, unlocking and upgrading players is what keeps me wanting to keep playing.
So just get the first game?
This game is gonna be on sale for $15 at GameStop after Christmas. Looking at your video, I guess it costs $10 to unlock all characters via real money (with 2500 VC left over).
Is this game worth $25 total?
Yup. And see, this is the problem with a lot of modern games. Especially, the ones from places like EA, Ubisoft, Activision, etc.
They make a game so grindy that they strong arm you into buying xp boosts or buying coins or whatever to stop that grind, to play the actual game *less.*
And, unlike this game, most of those games start (yes, I said start) at $60. Then, of course you have a bunch of different special editions they want you to buy, paid DLC, exclusive gear through sponsorships (looking at you Totino's and Assassin's Creed Odyssey), plus so much more garbage.
Very few games these days play like God of War or Spider-Man. Where, you just get a game at a reasonable price, you play through it and unlock everything in game with a reasonable amount of effort put into it. Sadly, it seems like those kind of games are a dying breed. And it's a damn shame.

To paraphrase Jim Sterling:
It's grindy, it's greedy, it's 2K Games!
check out fist of the north star lost paradise!
@@jackobyuk I'm not a huge Fist of the North Star fan, but I did see Jim Sterling do a Jimpressions on it, and it does look pretty fun.
Also, I saw Wood from BeatEmUps talk about Attack on Titan 2, recently. When that game first came out, I really wanted to play it, but then I found out it doesn't have English dialogue/voice acting (like DBZ games, for example), and that really bummed me out. It looks fun, but I don't think I have enough concentration (or whatever the proper term is) to: watch/control my character, watch out for/kill the Titans, *and* read the English subtitled dialogue. If they ever make an English AoT game, though (like they do for DBZ), I'd be all over it, in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the recommendation though, man. I appreciate it!
Dude just grind out the game and play. You can unlock the entire roster without spending a single cent. A bit of patience mate.
And that's the problem - that to unlock you either have to grind or purchase. Out of all the possible ways to unlock, they picked the bad ones.
should i cop in 2020
VC = virtual coins... not sure u can get virtual consoles? unless its emulators?

I dunno...I picked this game up for $7.50 and I’ve found it quite easy to unlock players. I’ve been unlocking players at a rate of 2 per hour of gameplay. If you focus on challenges and leveling up your current players, your VC really accumulates. I was expecting egregious micro transactions and the game to be ridiculously grindy, but I feel like they actually got the balance right.
I somewhat agree, however, if you play the playgrounds championship you can get money quicker with level up bonuses that help as well.
Is there any motion controls?
I wasn’t planning on it.
Same here.
I requested a review copy and never got it, why send me the option to not answer me lol... I have the first one, it was decent.
I feel bad if you bought it. Last year was fun, and you could unlock stuff. This year? NOPE!
RGT 85 yeah, I bought last years and liked the card pack idea with unlockables. I was going to purchase this one but might have to wait, maybe they will give all Switch Owners a code for Shaq Fu 3 LOL!
You have 500 subscribers, what do you expect?
It's probably worth noting that completing an NBA season gives a guaranteed player on a per-team basis(Doing it with the Rockets gives Hakeem) and the amount of "basketball" currency seems dependent on a lot of things, including performance in game. I have played 3 matches and I have 2,000 basketballs.
Maybe it's different in exhibition, but what I've noticed doesn't seem as egregious as you make it.
God damn right! Hakeem "The Dreeeeeeeeam" Olajuwan! 🤘
Is it worth it for 7 dollars
