Rodman would practice rebounds with the team, watching their shots to get a better idea of which way certain shots would generally react when they missed, and I think this is evidence of that. Note that he didn't treat it like an alley oop. He was ready for the rebound, timed that jump and touch perfectly!

@@AntoniosReformation there were fewer teams in the earlier part of Chamberlain's career . That means that a lot of the players playing now wouldn't even be good enough to make the NBA back then .. Fewer teams , fewer spots . Chamberlain played against some of the greatest players of all time.. Wilt was then and would be the most dominant player if he was playing in his prime today .

He didn't do it for the record. He did what the team needed him to do. He was a beast on the boards and on defense, letting the scorers do the scoring while he did what he loved.
He was such a beast on defense that his passing and shooting ability is very underrated. One of the most unselfish players on the court.
