    PreSonus owes a bit of a debt to Audient here, I'd say, but still, these seem like probably the best interfaces they've ever released, and it's cool to see Studio One people getting some handy product integration. And 75dB of gain!? flat within .2dB from 20-20!? for $230!? Impressive. Can't wait to hear Julian Krause's thoughts! 😄

      @sweetwater  Před měsícem

      Good question, frankifran5335! Unfortunately, using one of the inputs on the front will defeat the input on the back. If you do not need the ADAT expansion though, you could look at the Quantum ES4. This has the two inputs on the front and 4 mic pres on the back. So you would be able to run 2 mics and 2 guitars at once! Same preamps as the HD2 and same guitar inputs as the HD2, so no loss in quality, just less I/O overall.

    Ok, this is what I don't like about Presonus marketing. Everyone saying connection is Type C. Type C is the form factor of the connectors not the speed. The old Quantum where Thunderbolts which is also Type C. The 1824C are also Type C. Both of them have different speed 1 was USB 2 speed, the other one thunderbolt. Presonus won't said in the description which speed we are getting when buying this new one. Same as what they did with 1824C release.That is misleading because someone can buy one of this new devices thinking is thunderbolt or USB3.2.

But at 128 buffer at 96K the roundtrip latency will be about 2-2.3 milliseconds and you can mix a full 100 track song and overdubs late n the mixing stage with no problems. Whatever a USB interface's latency is say 5 milliseconds, using the same buffer and sampling rate a thunderbolt interface will cut it in half with the same settings. So from 5 milliseconds on USB to 2.5 on Thunderbolt. It has to do with the way USB delivers audio packets compared to Thunderbolt which is PCI over a copper cable.
