Sorry Kevin Lindo, hurricane Dean passed during daytime on Sunday Aug. 19, 2007. I was out in it taking pictures. It was Ivan in 2004 that came at night.

It came Sunday afternoon.from around 2pm and lasted until midnight.Devastating Dean..Ivan on the other hand spent Friday evening ....even Saturday evening it was still there...Dean just came for Sunday evening Jamaican rice and peas dinner...Ivan wanted to stay all weekend.slow moving....great video of dean.

1 week prior to the impact on the island. Sun 12.08.07 Dean cut itself off from the tropical convergence zone around the west African area southwest of Senegal. It was already a classified tropical storm.

I've seen some flimsy shanties Jamaica that appear to have been around forever. I've always wondered how they are able to withstand the hurricanes.

LOL It's Dean alright. Ask all the media that flew in from around the world for this storm. It was a Cat 4 that passed just to our south. We got Cat 1 winds.
