Mortar provides an easier endgame versus cryo's easier early game. Most people struggle on endgame more than early game from what I'm seeing, and mortar would be more useful as it kills crowds quicker, which allows phasers to lock on quicker. Cryo's freeze doesn't have any reliable dps behind it, making it not as practical in the endgame compared to mortar.
On the first time I did it it worked but 2 days later I try it and do the same thing but when you place the first commander and upgrade it, I don’t have enough to upgrade so I get stuck behind and always loose. Any tips?
i followed this strat completely but it didnt work because i couldnt get the grim alone because he had killed my marksmans and commanders and DJ and 2 phasers in just 2 strikes, how do i fix this?? Edit : i dont think this strat works now, ive done everything right I even fixed my previouis problem, but it gets to a point where for majority of wave 15 only 2 phasers lock onto him, and all but 1 marksman and commander are not dead, then you have to rebuy the rest of them, and eventually the phasers get out of reach, and it ends with the reaper at 1/2 of its hp remaining. Edit 2 : found the fix, the phasers were too close and the 3rd mortar blocked 2 phasers placement zones. tip : be precise on your placements.
If you claim that you did everything right, then you shouldn't die. This strat is still up to date as there haven't been any balance changes as of recent. It could just be faulty play style.
@@hskupin75 i redid it a few times, what i messed up on was wave 15. if you look at my edits i wrote you can see i explained before, but either way it was because i put 2 phasers too close to the bosses range, causing him to have a different pattern of attacks, resulting in more of my units dieing to the point where it was impossible to win. i just had to reposition 2 of them.

This strat is really smooth in end-game, altough it has rougher start and easier to mess up at wave 4-10 because mobs overwhelming you, good job.

Only 1 day left before Halloween gone and I thought i will never be able to beat the mode solo but this strategy manage to saved me
