My experience with Balsam Hill was very negative. They have hidden fees and charges for returns. READ the return policy BEFORE you buy from them. They also don't work with you when you're a regular customer. You were very lucky to have Balsam Hill give you this for free due to you having a lot of subscribers.

I have a Blue Spruce and it is just beautiful and so life like. The quality is outstanding, so glad I bought one. It is already up and decorated in front of my picture window in the living room.
I purchased my first artificial Balsam Hill tree last year, California Baby Redwood and we just love it. Quality is outstanding and once you fluff it out for for the first time, going forward the tree is easy to set up. A hint to keep the cost down in purchasing the premium trees is to buy them in the summer. Balsam Hill has substantial cost savings then on all tree.
That's the prettiest faux tree I've ever seen. I can't get over the easy set up, how it came each section individually wrapped. Not to mention the gloves and zippered bag. Excellent review.
Frasier fir is my Christmas tree choice every year, so I appreciate seeing what Balsam Hill had to offer. The minute you took it out of the box I noticed the color variation--just like a real tree. It was very helpful having the two side-by-side to compare. I'll be seventy soon, so it may be time to purchase a tree from Balsam Hill.

Christopher, I hope you see this tip. I was shopping and ran into a interior designer that during Christmas he designs homes for parties, events, etc. designing their homes. He said that when he puts up a artificial tree he always purchases extra lights and strings them inside of the tree. Before he strings them, he changed the bulb to make it into twinkling lights. So after the tree is decorated, you see the twinkling lights going off and on inside and the other lights on the outer part of the tree those lights do not twinkle. I did try this and it's awesome. It does take some time due to you have to inter twine the added lights in-between the lights that have come on the tree. But it's worth it.
Thanks for the idea Susan! I've done something similar by adding multicolor lights toward the center of the tree (clear on the outside edge) to just have a hint of colored lights :) - Christopher

This is a well done review and comparison between a real and artificial Fraser fir. You did a great job, thank you. I am an antique ornament collector, and like many other serious collectors, I'm not enamored with bushy, "full" trees. It's just not my taste. In my opinion and experience, it's hard to truly hang (suspend) ornaments well on very "full" trees. Instead, the ornaments sort of lay on the outer periphery of the tree. When trees, real or artificial, have natural in-and-out layers in their profile, you can hang ornaments and decor deeper within the tree. No worry about seeing the trunk. This creates greater interest, layers, and depth to the finished tree. European Christmas trees (real or artificial) tend to be less dense and allow for this.
Pro tip: When those plastic rivets holding the branches to the trunk break (and they will) feed a piece of colored wire through the hole then twist it on to secure it. A heavy twist tie will work too.

I bought one on sale yesterday for $200 and we're waiting on the delivery. I have NEVER had an artificial tree and had no idea what to expect. Great video... Gives me hope. I was willing to pay the $200 because I throw away just under $100 every single year on a new tree. I want one that will last for many years to come. I am hopeful that this will end up having been a very good purchase!

Year 1: Great experience. Tree looked great and everything worked fine. Year 2: Tree still looks great but 1 strand of lights burned out. Most of the bulbs need to be replaced. Year 3: Tree still looks great but 1/3 of the lights have burned out. Most of the bulbs need to be replaced. Year 4: Tree still looks great but ALL of the lights have burned out. Have to spend 6+ hours removing lights and installing higher quality lights that will last longer than 1 year. Called “customer” service and their response was DEPLORABLE! They refused to transfer me to a supervisor (claimed that they didn’t have one), then hung up on me. Called back the next day and the “customer” service rep insinuated that because I purchased the tree on clearance after the holidays, I was not a “valued” customer. Well guess what Balsam Hill, I am proud to be a “never again” customer! Tip to potential customers: buy a less expensive, but just as realistic looking tree somewhere else, and just replace it every 5 years. Will cost you the same and you will always have the most current lighting technology.
I am having a similar experience. It’s disappointing. My tree was from 2015 and all was fine for 5 years. Last year a few bulbs were unlit but it wasn’t bad and we ignored it. This year at least 30 bulbs are unlit. I’ve checked for broken and loose bulbs and checked the fuses but this has not helped. For the price, it should last longer. Not sure that I would recommend

I just bought a 9 foot artificial Wesley Spruce pre lit tree from home depot and it's beautiful and o think that no matter what kind of tree you have its gonna end up very beautiful.

I have a Balsam Hill Classic Blue Spruce. It is honestly the best quality tree I have ever owned. Yes, Balsam Hill trees are significantly higher in price, but the quality is top notch! Spend a little more and you won't be disappointed.

I have a small balsam hill in my large bay window. I have both white lights and multi colored lights on the tree. I ordered both the led lights. I can switch between between white or colored, or both or twinkle. Love the tree. Only drawback you cannot put the tree on a automatic timer. Balsam hill verified you can’t use a timer.

Thanks for the video. I decided to go with a Real 🌲 this year. I have an artificial 🎄 that I purchased about 6 or 7 years ago. It's prelit with white lights and rotating stand. I'm shopping for a new artificial 🎄 with color changing lights so I can choose btwn white and color. I also am tired if having to connect the wires for the 3 sections. I'm not in a rush so I'll keep checking for price reductions. I loooove the real look of this tree; only it was color changing.
Question, is the texture of the branches the same all over or is the inside of the tree more like traditional artificial trees? It looked like when he was assembling the tree the inside limbs looked more like traditional artificial trees.
@@sarahsapp419 it’s more like a traditional tree on the outside and on the ends it’s different I got the most realistic one so am guessing anything below that will have a lot more traditional artificial tree branches

I don't have a Balsam Fir tree (so I don't have any videos or experience with that one) but I do have a variety of Balsam Hill trees including the Fraser Fir, European Fir, Sanibel Spruce, & Red Spruce - all of them I love! The Fraser is the only one that I have that is prelit - all of the others I just added my own lights to :) I'm sure whatever tree you choose you will enjoy!
They are crazy. But, real trees keep getting more and more expensive, as well. Last year I paid $125 for about a 7 foot Frasier Fir. Condidering that, a good artificial tree will pay for itself in 5 to 7 years.
Well I haven’t had a real tree since 1996 my first tree is still in great shape it just is 19 feet tall so I gave to my daughter I think I paid 500 for it. It lasted way longer than I thought. Then my mother Bought me one when I divorced and that was nearly 8 years ago . She spent about 100 bucks. It paid for itself in 2 years. Trees aren’t cheap . Also not sure I Ike precut as the lights burn out before the tree will wear out

@@likeliterallysocute I got a 30% off. Still like it even at full price compared to the trees at Wal-Mart, Target, ect. Even compared to a live tree (we done that before).

I have a small balsam hill in my large bay window. I have both white lights and multi colored lights on the tree. I ordered both the led lights. I can switch between between white or colored, or both or twinkle. Love the tree. Only drawback you cannot put the tree on a automatic timer. Balsam hill verified you can’t use a timer.
I got two of them two years ago, now we moved to a bigger house I need another one, to me they worth every penny.
I have a Balsam Hill tree and the led lights just pop with color. Never had such beautiful lights on a tree.

I have always wanted a Balsam Hill Christmas tree but can't afford one, but I did get a tree this year where you put the sections together and the lights automatically turn on I got that was neat,that's a beautiful tree 😍you're so lucky
Thanks for the video. I decided to go with a Real 🌲 this year. I have an artificial 🎄 that I purchased about 6 or 7 years ago. It's prelit with white lights and rotating stand. I'm shopping for a new artificial 🎄 with color changing lights so I can choose btwn white and color. I also am tired if having to connect the wires for the 3 sections. I'm not in a rush so I'll keep checking for price reductions. I loooove the real look of this tree; only it was color changing.

Question, is the texture of the branches the same all over or is the inside of the tree more like traditional artificial trees? It looked like when he was assembling the tree the inside limbs looked more like traditional artificial trees.
@@sarahsapp419 it’s more like a traditional tree on the outside and on the ends it’s different I got the most realistic one so am guessing anything below that will have a lot more traditional artificial tree branches

I don't have a Balsam Fir tree (so I don't have any videos or experience with that one) but I do have a variety of Balsam Hill trees including the Fraser Fir, European Fir, Sanibel Spruce, & Red Spruce - all of them I love! The Fraser is the only one that I have that is prelit - all of the others I just added my own lights to :) I'm sure whatever tree you choose you will enjoy!
I was just blown away how expensive artificial trees have gotten
They are crazy. But, real trees keep getting more and more expensive, as well. Last year I paid $125 for about a 7 foot Frasier Fir. Condidering that, a good artificial tree will pay for itself in 5 to 7 years.

Well I haven’t had a real tree since 1996 my first tree is still in great shape it just is 19 feet tall so I gave to my daughter
I think I paid 500 for it. It lasted way longer than I thought. Then my mother Bought me one when I divorced and that was nearly 8 years ago . She spent about 100 bucks. It paid for itself in 2 years. Trees aren’t cheap .
Also not sure I Ike precut as the lights burn out before the tree will wear out
