I just dealt with KOC customer service last week in regards to my 2 year old tree. I was just a few days past the 2 yr mark, but my top section kept getting stuck and wouldn't light up unless I put it on just right. I called KOC and they just asked for pictures. I sent it to them, and they asked me to donate the tree and provide proof of such donation. I did, and I received my tree within 24 hrs. Their customer service was outstanding!
I have always always had a real tree, we always got Fraser Firs in about 7 feet range. My daughter in CA is having a baby this December so we decided to get an artificial tree this year. We just ordered the balsam hill Fraser Fir Flip tree. It is absolutely stunning. I picked the color and clear combo lighting, and I LOVE the dimming feature. It’s just so so so so beautiful!!!

Love my Balsam Hill tree. It’s the Nantucket and looks incredibly realistic. The needles really look like the real thing. Get compliments on it every year and people are surprised that it’s artificial. I also always have pine wax welts which completes the illusion. Have had it for three years and still works perfectly. Also love that you can switch between clear and multicolor lights.
MULTI-COLORED lights ARE available at King of Christmas, in case anyone is wondering. I have purchased two King of Christmas trees, one last year- the 8' Queen Flock Artificial Christmas Tree Unlit, and my 7' King Noble Flock Artificial Christmas Tree, just arrived today. The quality of both is top notch! The flocking is beautiful and stays put! I like to a particular type of light, so like the unlit trees best. Their customer service is outstanding as well.
I can comment on customer service, having coincidentally dealt with them today. The 6.5 ft tree ( we have 8 ft ceilings)came this morning( !) and I put it up to make sure the tree was in good condition. Unfortunately, the tree was too small for our room so I called customer service. The exchanges include free shipping. So the agent sent me a label and fedex will be picking up tommorrow. I ordered the bigger tree at 7.5ft. I upgraded to the twinkling light feature. So far the service has been great. Just an fyi; the agents are US based and they are in the actual showroom when they pick up the phone. They work on commission so its better to call and order so these people can make some income. @@stephanielynnhome the smaller tree, being returned, was a centennial fir with the color/clear lights. it was spectacular. I had to change models to get the twinkle light option so the bigger one I ordered is the Black Hills Spruce.
How do you like the twinkly light feature now that youve had it? Im looking to buy the 10ft in Vermont white spruce - I have a BH fir in a 12 ft but only white lights and it’s the one thing I wish I had (colored lights) they are getting their taller trees in with the twinkle light feature any week now but I’ve been going crazy waiting - and thinking maybe I could just get the typical colored light instead. But if the twinkly lights are great - I’ll wait lol :)

We just bought an unlit KOC queen flock and im so pumped to decorate it! My husband and i want to do a Narnia theme on the tree this year and i think the queen flock is the perfect canvas. And since it’s unlit i think it will solidly last us several years! 😋🤍
KoC has white and multi color now. Leaning toward KoC 10' King Fraser Fir Slim Quick-Shape Artificial Christmas Tree with 1100 Dual Color Warm White & Multi-Color LED Lights. It's on sale for $850, which is about half of BH or FrontGate.
These things are expensive ... They run around 1500 to 2000.... A normal tree can cost around 70 bucks that means I got to pay up front for about 20 years to match a real tree every year..
I’ll stick with my GE just cut Norway spruce that I purchased at the Home Depot it’s 7.5 ft tall 66 inches wide and has the realism as the balsam hill tree with color options on the lights or alternating between colors and it has the power made in the tree trunk pole I think I paid $450 for it back in 2016. Don’t get me wrong the other companies has good trees but I can’t see myself giving over a grand for some of the trees
I also have some Home Depot trees linked below along with some others... maybe I should do a comparison video between BH and Home Depot trees next year?
I have a beautiful tree from JC Penney’s for 36 years, very realistic but I am not sure the brand, I love that holds my very heavy Waterford ornaments, which I use 2 branches for each ornament. I am looking to buy another tree that strong; which tree do you recommend to hold my heavy ornaments? Thank you
I understand! I should start implementing the “ornament test”. Balsam hill will hold heavy ornaments and so will King of Christmas. And believe it or not even some of Home Depot’s trees are very sturdy and some of my favorite! The good thing about Home Depot is that you can go into the store and feel them to make sure they are sturdy enough. I’m my experience all those companies have very sturdy branches on their trees!

When I was researching I couldn’t find any tree with both color and clear, they might have been sold out. But, the Cyprus spruce does have both options and it’s in stock. The quality of the BH tree itself is amazing. However....the lighting is a different subject. I purchased a tree in 2015 (9ft with colored and white lights). All decorated ( I collect Radko ornaments so over 400 ornaments on tree) and 2 weeks later the entire 3rd section was out. Called customer service and they wanted to ship me that section. I said absolutely not after paying 1200.00 I wanted a new tree. They finally agreed to that and then 2 years later was having lots of lighting issues I called to have them walk me through the problem. Great lady helped and sent me a new tree...no questions asked as I was still in warranty. After 4 years, that tree has completely died, so on the hunt for another. () this tree has now almost doubled in price. ) 2 weeks ago, I purchased a KOC flocked for my formal living room and it is beautiful but as someone who loves a lot of lights, they don't take their lights all the way to the center of the tree which leaves dark holes. I think the moral of the story is to buy a quality tree, unlit and do the work yourself...or just buy inexpensive trees and replace every 3 years!

You may want to look into Home Depots Trees, I linked a couple in this video, they have a flocked and a green one with micro lights. I'm unsure if they go to the center, but I was very impressed by them, and they are a very good price!

Still not enough lights for me (1000 for 9 ft. which IS better than most) but it's nice and thick! Also, I could easily add some extra but who has time for that! Love your reviews..thanks so much!
Yes my husband and i decided this year that unlit tree was the way to go. You can always change up your lights and not have to worry about any of the sections going out. We just bought a KOC queen flock and im so so excited for it to get here!
I have 3 BH trees , don’t love them too many holes . That being said l just had a more natural 7’ frosted alpine tree in my cart . It’s Labor Day and l went to order it and the sale price was gone . I called customer service and he said that the prices change constantly. Well basically the same tree was on sale for $300. Less on the KOC website so l ordered it . I can’t believe that BH didn’t try to price match
How sturdy are the branches? I have some heavy mercury glass ornaments and live tree branches are so weak. I’m looking into getting an artificial tree for the first time in over 35 years. 😬
You are right, in all the ones I looked up they didn't have that feature, but still some of them do! Ugh! I think I also wrote about it in the description box to try to fix my mistake.
I wish BH would make a tree that has the un-sheared look. I love the look of a tree that has not been cut to death. And, their multi-lights they have just done match the beautiful glow of incandescent multi-colored. Their multi color trees are missing the pink color which throws off the entire look and makes the tree look purple
Balsam Hill trees are absolute junk and they have horrible customer service. King of Christmas trees are pretty and made decently, their customer service is great. But my favorite tree brands are GE, Puleo, Vickerman and Sterling Gerson.
Doug, Lowe’s has GE trees as their highlight brand and the Puleo makes their house brand “holiday living”. Home Depot has some beautiful trees as well. They’re seriously made better than Balsam Hill. King of Christmas’ trees are pretty and decent but they don’t last any better than say a Target or Walmart tree. I always look for durability. I think in terms of “in eight years what shape is this tree going to be in?”
@@bradpence7476 Thank you for your help. I want durability as well but I also want a realistic looking tree. And another big problem is that I live in Brazil. I went to São Paulo, which is the biggest city, in a 3 floor store all for Christmas and couldn't find any tree looking realistic. Only paper leaves and those very thing silicone or naylon things. I would like one with realistic branches and after years searching I found Balsam Hill. I have no way to actually see the tree in person neither I know any brands or stores. After learning the right key words to search for, I got this one. Their website doesn't ship to Brazil but Nordstrom does. The Puelo also looks nice but their website have no closeup pictures. King of Christmas also look very realistic. Vickerman website seems to be down. Well anyway, you grasp the huge task that is getting a decent, durable and realistic looking tree for me. And that is for 2023 xmas of course, cause its too late for this one.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I have a lot of other brands listed in my description box of other really great trees that are not KOC or BH. They include Home Depot, Amazon, and Walmart This video doesn't include them because it was a comparison between only the two brands, but that is why I listed them below. Home Depot has really surprised me these past few years and one of their trees is on my current wish list. However, sometimes people look for a specific type of tree that they grew up with and only BH has them. You really can't beat their variety. It all depends on the tree you want!
You must think everyone is rich and that everyone can afford balsam hills and your super bias, that everyone can afford balsam hills. If we like KOC that’s what we like. We came for a review not to get swayed by you.
She literally said she has both brands of trees and they’re great. It’s a plastic tree no one minds which brand you buy🤣and i hate to break it to you, but if you can afford a king of Christmas tree you’re also pretty well off money wise.
I have a lot of other trees linked below in the description but that are also really good, one is a Walmart tree that is only $199, it used to be $169 in the past. I also have Home Depot trees, and a really great one from Amazon that I have this year is also linked. Because I compared two high end brands doesn't mean I think they are the only brands that make great trees.
This doesn't seem like a very thorough review. You're only using the computer image not the actual in person review of them. These photos are photoshopped by the marketing department. So, you're reviewing a website not the actual tree.

They are very sturdy, I love real trees too, but it is so much easier decorating a faux tree because the branches are so sturdy!
That’s not correct with lighting on KOC. I purchased the 10’ Royal and it has Clear and Color and both are dimmable.

Balsam Hill trees are absolute junk and they have horrible customer service. King of Christmas trees are pretty and made decently, their customer service is great. But my favorite tree brands are GE, Puleo, Vickerman and Sterling Gerson.

Doug, Lowe’s has GE trees as their highlight brand and the Puleo makes their house brand “holiday living”. Home Depot has some beautiful trees as well. They’re seriously made better than Balsam Hill. King of Christmas’ trees are pretty and decent but they don’t last any better than say a Target or Walmart tree. I always look for durability. I think in terms of “in eight years what shape is this tree going to be in?”
@@bradpence7476 Thank you for your help. I want durability as well but I also want a realistic looking tree. And another big problem is that I live in Brazil. I went to São Paulo, which is the biggest city, in a 3 floor store all for Christmas and couldn't find any tree looking realistic. Only paper leaves and those very thing silicone or naylon things. I would like one with realistic branches and after years searching I found Balsam Hill. I have no way to actually see the tree in person neither I know any brands or stores. After learning the right key words to search for, I got this one. Their website doesn't ship to Brazil but Nordstrom does. The Puelo also looks nice but their website have no closeup pictures. King of Christmas also look very realistic. Vickerman website seems to be down. Well anyway, you grasp the huge task that is getting a decent, durable and realistic looking tree for me. And that is for 2023 xmas of course, cause its too late for this one.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I have a lot of other brands listed in my description box of other really great trees that are not KOC or BH. They include Home Depot, Amazon, and Walmart This video doesn't include them because it was a comparison between only the two brands, but that is why I listed them below. Home Depot has really surprised me these past few years and one of their trees is on my current wish list. However, sometimes people look for a specific type of tree that they grew up with and only BH has them. You really can't beat their variety. It all depends on the tree you want!
You must think everyone is rich and that everyone can afford balsam hills and your super bias, that everyone can afford balsam hills. If we like KOC that’s what we like. We came for a review not to get swayed by you.
She literally said she has both brands of trees and they’re great. It’s a plastic tree no one minds which brand you buy🤣and i hate to break it to you, but if you can afford a king of Christmas tree you’re also pretty well off money wise.

Balsam Hill usually has their trees on sale plus free shipping making them more affordable. That being said, BH has horrible customer service.
I have a lot of other trees linked below in the description but that are also really good, one is a Walmart tree that is only $199, it used to be $169 in the past. I also have Home Depot trees, and a really great one from Amazon that I have this year is also linked. Because I compared two high end brands doesn't mean I think they are the only brands that make great trees.

This doesn't seem like a very thorough review. You're only using the computer image not the actual in person review of them. These photos are photoshopped by the marketing department. So, you're reviewing a website not the actual tree.
I do own both trees, but because I was in the middle of moving I didn't have the time to put them both up.
