Sassy, Lagos Airport don change! The lighting alone both within and outside, is encouraging. I arrived the old terminal some months ago at night, it was poorly illuminated inside, and DARK outside with unidentifiable cab drivers soliciting for passengers. Scary!

Auntie Sassy. I really love your in-dept narratives on your travel blogs and this one on the new and improved Lagos airport was spot on as usual. As a Nigerian citizen residing in the UK, the mere thought of passing through MMA Lagos gives me goosebumps. In my past travels I've always avoided going through Lagos because of the unecessary stress which Nigerian returnees are always subjected to. I hope a new attitude goes with the new airport upgrade.
This is beautiful I really Love it. To those that will come with their negativity, I recommend fly to Sudan and then travel by road.

Sassy I love your videos. They have helped me get through the Nigerian airport on several occasions. Already doing the research to get to terminal 2 .
Very cool and great unlike the previous one. Used it during my visit for Christmas
It all boils down to maintenance and consistently ensure not business as usual for touts and agbero taxis. The efficiency of this terminal can be well tested when all major international airlines( British airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France) start using this terminal for arrival and departure. Well done.

My goodness i'm so happy to see this! I went through the old airport four years ago and told myself that I would never return to lagos! It was awful. This looks beautiful, I'm so happy for returnees. Great job Nigeria
In December 2022 I flew out of Lagos from the newest MMA terminal. It is fantastic. It was an amazing experience. I hope they maintain it. Thank you Sassy

This is nice sassy, nothing gives me joy than me seeing positive things about Nigeria, it brings about this sense of pride, hopefully we experience more positive things in Nigeria. Sassy have you heard of the ongoing smart Airport terminal been built in Akwa ibom, it's not yet completed but almost nearing completion and will definitely be completed before june, you can try to be one of the first people to visit that terminal when it is completed because i believe it's going to be dope.
I haven't heard heard of the ongoing smart airport terminal in Awka Ibom but that sounds so cool.
This Saturday I will travel to Nigeria for the first time. I hope to have a good experience at the airport

I am still trying to find someone to properly help me justify why you have to get 2 immigration officials check your passport whereas both can be busy especially at peak time
It just makes the process a little redundant and slows down the process
Travelling must also include airport experience

Sassy Funke thank you for what you do. You're beautifying God's world with your objective critiques. This is an example. Please help us impress those checking officers should be made to wear their forces or official uniforms. This would allow easy identifications and weave out touts. In this case we are moving in the right direction. The old terminal, na shame.
Thanks a million Sassy Funke for your very detailed and comprehensive video. I have seen over a dozen videos of the new terminal by various posters but this is the very best by far, 10/10, well done. 👍🏽. I am a disabled traveller and it's very stressful using the old terminal. This new one as you showed is so much promising, esp since it has lifts operating etc and looks refreshing. I cannot thank you enough. The government are about to start demolishing the structures very close to the new terminal to expand the apron for larger planes to have access. This will allow the big airlines like Emirates, B.A, Lufthansa, etc to move in all before the year is over. Contract has already been awarded to Julius Berger to reconstruct the main terminal of M.M airport at a cost of approximately $50million while the new terminal is fully utilized. Also construction of Lekki international airport would start this year also to serve Lekki free trade zone, Dangote refinery, and deep sea port on the Lekki Epe axis. All in all things are developing and that's great for many of us who travel. Thanks a lot and keep up the splendid work. Cheers

Thank you for the video. I'm traveling from the USA to Lagos from May 15 to 23, and I've heard horror stories about the airport, as described in the previous post. I'm guessing it's a "hit or miss" thing. Hopefully, Air France flights will arrive at the new terminal.

I flew in through SA airline last October.
The furniture and infrastructure is top notch.
My only issue was with immigrations protocol delays; they need to be more organized and coordinated.
Overall, I think that it was a much better experience than the old terminal 1.

If (in the older terminal), someone in uniform is bold to say tissue papers meant for users of the airport is what she takes home to sell, then we still have a huge problem

Your review on this terminal is spot on. The immigration officer we were directed to had a pending issue on ground and treated us like we were non-existent!As someone in the service industry, she could have handled it better by acknowledging our presence and asking for a few minutes if needed. Or even plead with her colleague to assist . I was pissed at her behavior as well as the ndlea official who was very rude and barking at everyone. There were two of them, the guy was soft-spoken but the lady was just raising her voice like you stole her peace😂. Otherwise everything else was really peaceful and beautiful. Good improvement Sassy, Lagos airport Don change 😂😅
Nice airport. Let’s hope they keep up with the maintenance because maintenance culture is not a long lasting habit of those who are supposed to maintain it.

I heard from the DG that some airline hangers have to be demolished for the new one to be accessible by all airline operators. It's a beautiful sight nonetheless.

This is a long awaiting project since MMA is no more recommandable, but lagos should think beyond that. Maintenance and proactive risk management should be a priority. At this point of development and the multi-task activities in lagos , a fire combat HELICOPTER at least 3 of which one must be stationed near the airport is essential across lagos state.

It also sounds like the airport employees have stepped up and are behaving in a professional manner in the new digs. This together gives the airport the Sassy Funke Seal of Approval🏆!

All international flights will originate and terminate at the new terminal once the apron has been fully extended. For the apron to be fully extended, some existing hangars and admin buildings with the airport’s premises would be demolished
