Ohio State Marching Band - "The best damn band in the land" - dotting the i - prior to the 2009 USC game - and Frank Cosenza about his long time dream of "Dotting the i"
I'll bet at the time, Frank Cosenza was upset that the cameraman spoiled his moment. However, it has gone down as one of the most memorable moments in OSU marching band history, and he was part of it.
Well, that was a cool performance, but the cameraman ruined it for Frank Cosenza. OSU sent ESPN a bill for damage to the sousaphone Frank Cosenza was playing.
i’m not american. i didn’t even know what “dotting the i” even was until 5 minutes ago. so tell me why this has made me tear up??? he must’ve worked so hard!! that must be such an honour
Kudos To Frank Cosenza for all the hard work and dedication of getting to that Dream! We have watched this many times to see the enthusiasm this young man has, others should follow. We wish you all the best Frank in what ever you do in life. Keep following the dream cuz you can make it happen!! Salute and Blessings!
Man, no bigger honor for a sousaphone player than to dot the i. I'm a Georgia fan and grad but I haven't seen a better marching band than OSU. More than the music, which is excellent, are their formations. Being a member of even an ordinary marching band is hard work, I know from experience, so I can only imagine the hard work that the OSU band goes through. I get goosebumps and not even an OSU fan (I'm neutral).
The OSU band is lame compared to what goes on at Texas A&M. The meatgrinders they do blow OSU out of the water. czcams.com/video/mqksWMocu5c/video.html
Matthew Miller that’s kinda rude, but i can’t imagine it’s too hard for them 100bpm... that drill looks impressive but it’s not too difficult if you keep the right spacing. don’t hate on other because they’re “lame” by your standards.
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THAT!!!!! That camera man could have hurt the sousaphone ;) People need to learn not to get near marching band member during shows, especially the drum line and sousaphones.
Im a michigan fan here but i wanna dot the i once looks so fucking awesome go michigan go blue go bucks go ohio state have tremendace amoount of respect for ohio state and michigan:-)
I'm a big LSU fan. But have always appreciated watching this band do this. It's a cool tradition. But still the The Golden Band from Tigerland is the best.
Ah yes one of the great traditions of college football. Its up there with the eagles fly over at Auburn, More cowbell at Mississippi State, Planting the Speqr at Florida state, West Virginia singing country roads, and last but not least making fun of Xichigan for claiming national championships from before WW2 and the AP poll
All the cameraman was trying to do was help a tuba player get his 15 mins of fame. To tell the truth the tuba player may have extended his 15 mins of fame to 30 mins by hitting the cameraman.
camera man knows better than that, man..... shooting for college football? OSU being continually in the championship hunt? probably shot hundreds of big 10 games.... you know how "dotting the i" goes... don't get so damn close.
OMG I CANT BELIEVE THAT HE DID THAT! that camera man could have hurt his sousaphone ;) the really need to learn not to get anywhere near marching band members, especially the sousaphones and drum line.
Don't worry cameraman, they've only been doing this move for 200 years..
I'll bet at the time, Frank Cosenza was upset that the cameraman spoiled his moment. However, it has gone down as one of the most memorable moments in OSU marching band history, and he was part of it.
The cameraman getting hit makes me laugh every time
If you hear a sousaphone player say watch out, he means it
You could hear him say watch out before he hit the camera
Yea
Well, that was a cool performance, but the cameraman ruined it for Frank Cosenza. OSU sent ESPN a bill for damage to the sousaphone Frank Cosenza was playing.
Heck no. Most epic moment ever. The cameraman got nothing less than he deserved.
He yelled "Watch out!" So cool.
I remember watching this at home. We all laughed when the cameraman got hit. Timeless tradition.
it should be done every year.
He clearly meant to do it, for dramatic effects😉@@silverkitty2503
New tradition: knock out the camera every time from now.
Ohio State should add (into their iconic and timeless tradition of dotting the i) smacking an overbearing camera man with a sousaphone
that drum major has good handwriting

LOL! He told him to WATCH OUT! Lol
Friggin cameraman shouldn't have been in the way.

@@yeeyee2739 🤣 That's cute. Cute outfits too. Reminds me of high school, only we did more complicated routines and music in HS.
3:48 "Watch out!" xD
Who’s here after watching TwoSet react to the sousaphone bow?
Still looking for a version of this where I can see it from the crowd. Every video has it from the POV of some camera down on the field! LOL!
3:40 that high stepping is bad ass
Awesome. This HAS to be the greatest tradition in college sports.
Amazing Marching band THAT SHIT IS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS. Such precision wow wow wow
You've never seen the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. This would be their warmup.
Frank Costanza -- you want a piece of me? You got it!
I just figured out why we lost that game... the damn camera got in the way
hitting the camera made it that much better!!!! WOW!!!!
Wow. Greatest marching band in the world.
3:48 in his defense, Frank did say "Watch out" to the camera man before he bowed.
3:40 for anyone looking 👀
my best friend plays sousaphone and his life goal is to dot the i when he gets to college
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THAT!!!!! That camera man could have hurt the sousaphone ;) People need to learn not to get near marching band member during shows, especially the drum line and sousaphones.

Hate, despise, hate Ohio State, but this might be the best tradition in CFB
God bless him, but Frank nailed it.
I'm a big LSU fan. But have always appreciated watching this band do this. It's a cool tradition. But still the The Golden Band from Tigerland is the best.
I'm here because of TwoSet Violin.
That's awesome
He told you to watch out. Why would you be right there when he does the bow?
Who out here in 2018 whatup

So cool
He yelled "WATCH OUT" and then gave the cameraman the business
Best damn band in the land.
Frank: Watch out!
Cameraman: (gets biffed by sousaphone anyways)
Me: 😂😂😂
WATCH OUT!
Is badass tho...ABUT
haha, he told the camera guy to watch out.
he hit the camera lol

It's a Sousaphone, not a tuba.
@@tommytimp Literally the same thing. One just wraps around your body.
@@torreywilliams6154 But you know which is which, right?
Clearly at the beginning it says he's a sousaphone. ONLY sousaphones and special guest dot the i.
Came to the comments just to see how many nerds were but hurt that you called it a tuba

OH
Lol poor camera man...
dingus.....
I want to see a Michigan football player do the "dot the I" highstep dance after or during a touchdown against OSU.
