Kone EcoDisc elevator for Floridian Elevators

- Filmed on January 16, 2016: Right after watching several Kone EcoSpace/EcoDisc elevator videos from CZcams user Superduper Julien, I decided why I stop here at Mody Place and take a proof ride on this elevator to show him how noisy those brakes are in the shaft. Yeah I know that this elevator (any Kone EcoDisc's in general) are very cheap. Hate to say this, almost worse than those boring Schindler hydro's (300A & 330A). I thought Kone's are great elevators, but after hearing lot of bad descriptions about them, they are no longer my favorites. I have also gotten stuck in this thing a while back as well.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DEDICATING THIS TO ME JIM!!! :) Also, this elevator seems to run better than all of the times you filmed it last year (especially when it broke on you), but it still has horrible sounding brakes (good imitation of them btw), Also, the elevator looks like it's DYING. After all, KONE'S are only meant to last 4-6 years till they are modded or ripped out. Also, the button panel is getting worse.
I never knew KONE's were went to last for that short of a time! That is interesting.
Doesn't appear to be dying, but then I do like grotty elevators...
An EcoDisc without brake sounds is not an EcoDisc.
There’s custom hydros at The Las Vegas Strip. They look old and they are still running.
Ecodisc brakes are one of the best part! And peaple thit the buttons wrong
In my opinion, I actually love Kone elevators
I don't HATE Kone by any means. As long as they run well and are holding up, that's all what matters.
Funny that outside the US, Kones are some of the best modern day elevator models that one can install.
I have been on a nice Kone hydraulic elevator before. The only thing with it, and is minor, was a slight delay in the door opening on the third floor. The first Kone I rode was not that great and was scared of getting stuck on it. Not a fan of a Schindler hydraulic either though they are improving. They need to address the leveling speed.
I don't think all Kone are bad, it depends on who installs them and how well they are maintained. I will say I never encountered a bad Otis Gen2 before. The hospital near has those and they are smooth as butter.

Europe & Asia Kone Elevators are great.
This elevator is pretty good for an EcoDisk.
the breaks sound? that happens alot since they open the doors while leveling. the loud breaks actually makes it stop violently in emergency stop. Leveling in 0.01 meters/second you can still feel it stop violently.

first and awesome video. I do have a kone elevator on the Metrogarden Supermarket with the car park. My favorite companies of elevators are schindler, kone. Because i only have taken a look of only 3 elevators.
kone elevators are great elevators but why someone say it's horrible
European KONE elevators are very good but american elevators they suck.

I have kone ecodic in building but not same its i think from 2010/2009
That "brake" noise was not the brakes, it is the motor cooling down and echoing around the shaft
Also, then again might be motor brakes

Kone EcoDiscs are far better in Australia and in the UK (the second-best lift type after Mitsubishi)
In the above countries, the brake sound is well-appreciated and will be missed on the 4th gen Ecodisc (which doesn't have one)

The Ecodiscs in America are total crap but the ones in Asia and Europe are well made.

Kones in Europe last a lot longer than these. No clear idea why Kone makes such crap quality in America while in Europe they make very good quality. ThyssenKrupps in Europe are basically the opposite story of Kone.
