Should've shown AMOS and NEMO on boats. Pretty insane stuff.
Yeah, Sweden and Finland have those mortars in their littoral boats - should be quite nasty against anyone. Serious shit, man. :)
Patria Amos and Nemo should unquestionably be at the top of the list. No doubt.
AMOS double barrel definitely the best one 💓
it can let 14 shells rain down at the same time on the target, such an amazing system
How many AMOS equipt vehicles are active in the world?
@@patrikp73swe at least 18 in Finland. I don't know how many in Sweden and the license is sold at least to one US based company.
@@Gottfried82 there are non in Sweden
@@patrikp73swe it looks like that NEMO is going to be the more popular variant
The Finnish Defense Forces had Patria's Amos vehicles that were able to fire 30 grenades and set off again before the radar even had time to lock it.
Absurd AMOS/NEMO is not the one! And their only competitor Mölnir is not even on the list..... Impossible to take this list seriously.
On top of it being able to shoot Strix adds sickly to versatility!
I'd buy the amos over all of the rest
I'd buy the Amos over all of them
@@lloydzufelt7514 Show me the money!
The list is not serious. A bunch of old Soviet crap in the top amongst with an old american system that is outperformed in every aspect by the AMOS/NEMO systems.
I will admit that I'm saying this as a Finn but the AMOS/NEMO should be first simply because you can fire it accurately from a moving vehicle. It's just that good.
But you know it is the plattform SAAB/Bofors/FMV developed since 2000 and Finland and Norway jumped off around 10 yrs later, mounting that design on Patria chassis etc...now, Sweden has the CV90 twin Mjölner mortar, can fire on the move if necessary of course, you do not do that, because why? It takes few seconds to complete halt, and few second to do a burnout and get away. You do not fire mortars waving around among trees and whatnot, it makes the precision so bad regardless so its not worth it.
@@opponenspericulo The Mjölnir a.k.a Patria AMOS/NEMO you mean.
@@opponenspericulo you do realise they are the same turret? Just on different vehichle?
@@opponenspericulo You really have a need to wave the swede flag. Do you feel shame for your country working together with another country? Do you have issues with us others from the nordic countries, would you still want sweden to be the ruler over them all. Damn, now Norway is richer, Danes and Finns happier :P
Just swallow the fact that together we are stronger but we thrive as independent countries ;)
@@amadeuz8161he just jealous cause that’s the only thing he can take pride in 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was operational as a gunner in an IFV. 60mm breach loading mortar. Its a highly accurate and versatile weapon. In combat I fired about 250 kgs of ammo. It could also be fired directly.
I like all of these mortar systems. Was a mortar crewman on the M-30, 4.2-inch mortar in the US Army. Sometimes ground mounted. That mortar weighed 672.2 pounds or 345-kg. Was also using the M-106 mortar carrier. That mortar system was back breaking labor. Used old fashioned plotting boards to get aiming data.
These mortars have mechanical loaders and computerized firing data for sending mortar shells to the target.
No more back breaking labor. Plus, these mortars must be using GPS aiming. Didn't see any aiming stakes being used. Aiming stakes were used as a reference point for proper alignment to target.
The new mortars are faster with less crew fatigue. This alone makes a vast improvement over the older mortars.
Amos/Nemo takes out these prehistoric designs any day.
Imagine not thinking that AMOS and NEMO are the best mortar systems
There's also Polish Rak ;)
AMOS & NEMO should definitely be first because you can fire them both accurately from a moving vehicle because of the "Fire on the move" system. US Army actually wants to buy it from Finland.
Imagine getting upset at a “youtuber” being inaccurate about his own opinions.
@@jodo7814 "Ding dong your opinion is wrong!" Anyway sometimes facts speak over opinions I don't have all facts tho but still in these things I think who personall thinks what is best is not same as facts
The M1129 Stryker is just a towed mortar placed on an APC. It is definitely not even close to the AMOS&NEMO in any aspect. The swedish Mjölner mortar systemo should also be on this list.
I think AMOS or NEMO should be in the first place. it always makes me sad when I see Americans and Russians think their equipment is the best, of course, many times it is true but not always!!!
Russian equipment is the best
But have to admit that stryker on firsr place is bullshit
as an american, that loves murica, youre totally right. AMOS takes #1 hands down. and yes, i prefer a lot of russian gear. the US owns the sky and sea, but russia does own a lot of land assets imo.
The Stryker is the best for reasons not listed. It has full digital capabilities, while also having degraded capabilities, more round placement on a self sustained vehicle, it also carries a smaller 81mm so you can send a dismount team. The ease of maintaining the system and the abilities for a simple crew member to get the weapon system back online is why the stryker should be at the top in my opinion.
@@TheSomenameguy and it doesnt have a v shape hull hahaah
The AMOS with a variable fuse system. High burst anti personnel, low burst anti Armour, impact anti tank and delayed anti bunker.
Amos and Nemo for mechanized forces and Alacran for light infantry.
The finn/swe AMOS takes the americans and russians outdated designs any day
We'll hit you withy da välfärd from above
mortar more expensive than sph. yeah...
Tulpan still has fearsome stoppingpower allthough yeah, AMOS has best performance.
@@norbi1411 Yes. The mortar has shorter range, but greater firepower and survivability and mobility. Of course, it comes down to money. If you have the manpower but no money, you are better off with quantity than quality. If you are short on manpower, make them count.
@@ribbitgoesthedoglastnamehe4681 Expalain how AMOS has "greater firepower and survivability and mobility" than SPH like for example Krab?
I would also like to remind there are far beater and chaeper solutions than AMOS like for example Rak.
Nice video looking forward more videos in the futures.
I had no idea such things exist and I'm glad CZcams suggested this video.
Toyota with mortar absolutely win🗣️
LOL !!
Top Gear team nuked a Toyota with tactical nukes, dropped it from orbit into a volcano and it didnt even scratch the paint.
If the crew wouldn't fall out of the back with all the bouncing when it fires.
I can imagine a normal person going by its day and talks shit about Toyota and then a mortar shell hits him and dies and all you can see in the distance and its has red eyes and its saids dont talk shit about Toyota in a demon voice
Technical's u mean!!
Watch simple history to know how technical helped in winning and Why most of the countries including Us, France, Russia uses it!!
One thing for sure its cheap and Effective!!
Patria Amos should Be first or Nemo but you show 2 different Patria mortars in The Amos spot Amos is The one that looks More like Nemo but whit 2 barrels
I don't think this video is in any particular order, at least there's nothing really indicating that
AMOS and NEMO could surpass the products from others in terms of quality and performance !!
Yes, they do. But they are not murican you see.
They also explose the costs.
Spear MkII i think is a really ingenious idea for an effective way to get mortars in an army simply, effectively, and cost-effectively.
Might not be the best protected or longest range, but at least it can provide very rapid support and would (assumidly) have low maintenance costs given its based on a 4x4 truck instead of a multi-million dollar tank chassis or some sort.
The 4 x 4 truck "suffer" harsh recoil too !!!
Amos and Nemo for me!
Poland have M120 RAK almost the same.
I liked the Alakran, AMOS and the Striker
One is missing : Rak 120mm SPMS
Oh, just one? I thought this list sucked, but if its missing JUST one system, it has to be at least OK.
:-p
@@ribbitgoesthedoglastnamehe4681 LOL. Polish people are proud... :D No issues . Great Video !

In post soviet countries present few new mortar systems based on car chassis
I like EIMOS fot quick reaction Mortar an Alakran for heavy fire. They are the best 👍.

Great👍👏 video🎥
4:14 finally ! command and conquer red alert double barrel action about time
It seems we need those system
Thanks for the vid sir.👍🏼👍🏼
Funny! Maybe ranking in reverse order , 10 is the best?
We need to see more of what the weapons can do as far as the damage they do to targets...only seen the units firing and no impacts on targets. I want to see both please
That does depend on the shells being loaded, and it sounds like a lot of these can take the same ammunition.
What are the prices for these mortar systems?
By considering the prices, we can have a better understanding of their price/performance ratios.
Mortars are the most dreaded field weapon for an infantry soldier. Strictly carnage. 💥
MLRS: awww...that's cute...they think they're artillery
@@kevlarburrito6693 *laughs in 2B1 Oka*
More so because they are generally in the hands of the infantry. So the response time is faster than with systems controlled by the artillery like Howitzers and MBRLs.
When I was in the army, we were told that mortars accounted for something like 40% of battlefield casualties in WWII.
@@limedickandrew6016 I know which one you're talking about. The statement is incorrect, but only slightly. The statistic refers to casualties as a result of artillery.
I majored in Intelligence Analysis in college, part of my degree involved studying such statistics.
missing the 2S23 "Nona-SVK and 2S34 Hosta (chosta) both 120mm mortar systems and good systems, and another system worthy of a mention is the 2B9 Vasilek these are normally mounted on MT-LB chassis and comes with anti armour rounds as well, a 82mm automatic mortar with clips of 4x 82mm mortar rounds, they fire off rounds very fast 100-120 rpm, i believe Russia is developing a newer system mounted on various wheeled armoured platforms.
These are so fucking old. The Russian systems shown in the video are also super old. AMOS and NEMO should win.
@@visegradi but still in use, and should be included. In fact more Soviet systems are still in service than AMOS etc. More modern Russian systems are also in service. Mortars haven't changed much over the years, and adding an extra barrel (AMOS) is hardly a big step forward. The 2B9 vaselisk is an automatic mortar with four round clips including anti armour rounds for direct fire, been around for decades, so yet again a automatic mortar system is new, so the Amos is basically a double barrelled automatic mortar system stuck on top of an armoured vehicle not a massive leap into the future.. Russia could have made that type of system decades ago. But with the addition of Lazer guided mortar rounds (not sure if Amos has them) but the Soviets and Russia have had them for decades means they can drop fewer rounds because they are more accurate. So no need for double barrel system to lay down more fire, also increases weight. You also have to look at export sales of Amos nobody is queuing up to buy it, goes to show you what other militaries think of it. Yet other militaries are still using older systems, why? Because they still get the job done.
I like the Amos, Nemo and Stryker. Besides the mortar systems, should put at least 2, 20 millimeter chain guns on the Amos and Nemo, with automatic targeting systems. The Stryker usually has a multi weapons system platform. I'd want at least a couple more guns, incase you're separated from the unit.
Amos and nemo are freaking awesome.
What do you think about the centauro amc mortar carrier
I still worked with a 120mm mortar as a trailer pulled by an Unimog. Same time there were already some mounted on M113.
CV90 Mjolner is awesome 👍🏻
Soviet/Russia Tyulpan 300mm with laser guide is BIGGEST definetly DEADLIEST Mortar 🔥
lol what XD
Russians suck anyway 😂 Idiots

Systems other than Amos and Nemo looked downright primitive.
Do you work for Patria or something? Clearly the Spanish and Turkish systems are well designed too.
Check the new danish system, Piranha5 with Cardom10 semi automatic mortar. Neat
@@esbenm6544 Nope. For ambush warfare quick fire and run is needed, together with quality electronics and good armor for crew...
2S4 TYULPAN CAN FIRE GUIDED AMMUNITIAN SO IT IS THE BEST MORTAR SYSTEM I LIKE
I like the music.
TAKE MY MONEY!
Good video, some feedback would be to mention the name of the country which developed the mortar system when introducing it.
My favourites are the M1129 Stryker mortar carrier, Nemo, Spear Mk2, and the 2S4 Tyulpan.
Tyulpan is huge caliber but it needs time to deploy... not comparable with automatic self-propelled mortars... of course it can be used in certain type of warfare...
Fully autonomous system
At the same time: requires a 3 man crew

Amos is easily #1
1.Patria AMOS 2.Patria NEMO
With all the shoot and scoot you might have to watch out for mines, but I still like the idea of mortars functioning kind of like a left jab in the enemy's face. Get about five mortar carriers and get in the enemy's face with them. Then bug out to another fire position.
These aint going first in
why u don't show Polish self- propelled mortale 120 mm RAK? It's one of the best ever mortal
It' is a very interesting motar system its defiantly this and the Stryker that I like the most
Any comparison which does not include MRSI capability is an automatic fail.
Spear mortar system is a disco dance floor...
Wait a moment, what about the 600 mm thor mortar?
Those two are really awesome, never to be seen again...
Nemo motor systems is the best one
The 240. Damn think about how many tanks a round of plunging can be destroyed.
They need to put that double barrel set up on the striker.
What system could be better than the AMOS in a CV90 firing STRIX ammo? it's a system for the future, to bad it's so expensive.
8:42 High-Explosive IS CHEMICAL, the same way some anti armour shells are kinetic.
In that case "chemical" probably was supposed to mean "insendiary".
But in general, true. He have no clue what he is talking about. Same with info that one of them is able to fire in night and all weather conditions. Eghm... it is an indirect artilery piece. All of them can fire at night or advert weather.
Where is Polish "ROSOMAK RAK"? This is no the same what show patria AMV.

Spear Mk2 👍
Polish M120 Rak is missing:(
Of course first are to be consider as best.
Amos and Nemo are best mortar systems in the world
AMOS is best!
the double amos is even better
They failed to mention the most crucial aspect of the NEMO. The Patria NEMO system can be used to execute Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) fire missions, wherein a maximum of six rounds impacts the target simultaneously. NEMO can accurately fire projectiles along different trajectories with distinct charges to ensure all of them hit the target at the same time, causing significant destruction. Just imagine, with five of these systems concentrating fire on a specific area... It can also be fired accurately on the move. 😅
These very fancy, quite expensive and complex turret mortar systems all rather miss the point of the mortar completely and end up being just low capability self-propelled artillery.
Patria Nemo is definitely the best
Fun fact, the AMOS does not use standard ammunition, since it is a breach loading weapon system, compared to more traditional "drop it into the tube" tubes
Quite big failure in my book
Tulpan working in Siriya...good gun!))))Wery hard and strong weapone!)
Song?
I mean, take an apc, or a small boat, and slap the AMOS on it
So what is the kill radius of these mortar's ?
those shots looks like AP ROUND
cuz modern rounds look almost the same
You Forgot to mention the country's that design them & who uses them
the first one looks like the starcraft siege tank
The voice in the video is very similar to eveRide ADV.
3:02 upgradeable to a laser cannon
The AMOS is basically an APC with non piercing rounds
Wrong those bitches do have some penetrate rounds they can be used in direct fire.
Not at all. The turret part of the vehicle is called AMOS while the platform is Patria AMV. AMOS has a range of around 10 kilometres and it has the capability to shoot 10 shells that'll hit the target at the same time (this feature is called MRSI). For some reason the creator decided to put here only it's direct fire range and not the in direct mortar range. Direct fire is only there for self-protection though and not the primary use of the system. AMOS can be mounted on pretty much anything that can carry it. Swedish navy even considered mounting them to small troop carrying boats.
@@Ho_Lii_Fuk I was joking... I meant that it strongly resembled an apc.
hellow tanks
in my list i would also take a wiesel 2 mortar system over some in this list
Great video but one thing mortars and mines are two completely different things. Mines are whats in the ground or under water. Mortar shells are what mortars fire.
Mortars are called mines in a lot of places around the world.
@Klippy Klop in russian a mortar is called a "mine launcher".
@@fyodorgalyukov the same in German, where they are called "Minenwerfer", literally 'mine thrower'.
Then again, in many languages they are called 'grenade thrower' or 'grenade launcher'.
