- The U.S. Army employs howitzers for precision indirect fire, rocket systems like MLRS for long-range strikes, and mortars for close support. These artillery systems engage enemy positions and provide critical fire support to troops in various operational scenarios. And today we want to show you the 10 best howitzers, rocket systems and mortars in US Army.

310 MILES !!! THIS ARTILLERY “IS” THE “KING OF BATTLE !!!” ❤😮😮😮
You should call this channel, Incredible, Actual, Real Facts. I know it does not roll off the tongue very well, but this channel is awesome and very informative. No B.S. No hype. And no cheap computer generated voice that cannot pronounce plain words in plain English. And for that, I thank you.
I was a 13B40 artillery gun chief 1968 to 1970 (drafted during Vietnam war ) The M109 155 mm self propelled howitzer was an incredible battlefield weapon. We fired day and night. If there was an forward observer who gave good coordinates god help those in the impact zone!
*They need to double the length and weight of the projectile but stay at 155mm. This would give 62 miles range (100KM). Heavy slow moving projectiles tend to stay at the same speed for way longer and shoot higher where the air resistance is thinner also adding to longer ranges. Plus the extra heavy projectile does not drift as much in high winds and does massive damage when it lands!!! I know, we tested one for DARPA at China Lake, MB Ca!*
One thing the ukraine war has taught is that inexpensive drones, costing less than 155mm rounds, or expensive drones and missiles can be more effective and efficient.
War is changing, but not really as young people who don't know each other are sent to kill other while old people who know each other are safe and cozy having tea.
complete agree with this Hawkeye 105 mm moble weapon systems
This was a well done video. Narration was not robotic or bombastic, technical specifications were on point and the accompanying video was excellent. Subscribed.
Sounds like a text to speech robot to me, due to the abnormal inflections. For that reason I stopped watching after just two minutes as it was painful to hear the crappy narration.
As a former gun bunny (13 bravo), I love them all. 👍P.S. when I was in service, we used
miles, not kilometers. 🧐
unfortunately. NATO uses the metric system as does the rest of the world.
Archer FTW!!!!
Glad to sea the US placing high emphasis on ultra light weight artillery platforms that can be deployed anywhere with ease.
Narration OK because there were no mispronunciations. Good technical details.
I want see the self-propelled mortar on tracks, like a BOOKER chassis for example or a next gen IFV chassis.
Completely agree with this. The M110 203MM was an awesome piece of equipment!
True. From what I know the US Army also used 190 and 175 mm artillery pieces. They should've never discarded them.
Cold as heck in the winter though lol
the 105mm on the Hummer
I liked all of them! 🙂
i was S.C. on M110A3 -203MM Love my Gun
I was a Commo Chief in M110 Batterie when I was stationed in Germany back in the mid 1980. That was one awesome gun.
Those are all deadly impressive war weapons
Thanks, Incredible Facts.
I had been the Head Operations Clerk for the 3rd Armored Divisions Divarty (Division Artillerry) and then a Battalion Ammo Clerk for the 42nd Field Artillery of the First Cavalry Division, and so I reallly like the Armored Self Propelled Ammo Carrier for 155 rounds. That could be loaded up at depot. Without them we had to load up 10 ton Ammo Carriers and take them out to the Field to where we have to break up the load into Battery Size loads that we'd deliver using our own ammo carriers. These transfers in the dark of night, using Light Discipline were dangerous and the year before I arrived two soldiers of the 42nd were killed in a training accident, fun over by ammo carriers at night, so, yeah, SAFETY FIRST, but these Special Purpose Combat Ready Ammo Carriers would simply Combat Deployments and make them safer.
Awesome fire power for our troops in the field
all of them
Now the NATO Navies build 550' shipss with only one puney 5" gun. What they need is 7" RF naval gun. Big enough for 200lb dumb shells at 25 miles, or ramjet shells with a decent sized bursting charge after flying 60 miles. Wish someone would make one. Put the 5" gun on 400' frigates!!!!
King of battle yeah
Nice God Bless The Colors
Thank you . ( 2023 / Dec / 19 )
Nice one
Sir you forgot to include the Russia and china is shock to this new howitzer 😮😮😮
Now? If they had aa loading belt system . IT COULD BE 10 X FAST RELOADING AND FIREING
The incredible (in its dictionary sense) fact is that the USA rejected Gerald Bull's extended range gun because he made the space program's expenditures obvious and excessive.
South Africa was smart enough not to reject Gerald Bull and the G5 and G6 were born.
cool~~~
I Love ❤️ it 👍
field artillery 71-74. 155mm M-109s. this is the only video i've seen where it shows the rounds going down range. i was always amazed that you could watch the round leave the gun and see it for a few seconds, nice to see that captured.
Me too! You could stand behind an 8" and watch the round go until it reached the top of its arc and then it would disappear as it picked up speed.
At least that's how it was for me!
The hawkeye doesn't carry its own rounds and propellant, that is one hell of a drawback requiring two vehicles.
GOOD job
good stuf
No mention of the Boeing-Nammo Ramjet propelled 155mm howitzer shells?
Thanks for your research, the evolution of artillery, guidance systems, rocket assisted range along with the use of satellite and drone observations is the story of this engagement and the direction others will go.
Why have so many different howitzer system when the airforce also has the means to attack the same types of targets ?
ALL
than god america is a democracy
It's nice to see my old gun (accept it's only better): shoot move and communicate 😊❤🎉
Arti rules
I think the accuracy is better then 33 ft for Excalibur rounds
Matrix Churchill UK has already built the longest range fire-ring gun.......the germans tried it in ww2....why not just build missiles as the barrel wont last long at all.
Are we supplying of these systems to Ukraine? And if not WHY NOT
What happened to the 4.2 inch mortar
M270A2
I fear counter battery firing, and shoot and scoot....not to mention the fact that the us is so quick to train and integrate it into service.. with a well trained crew and leader, doctrine the enemy if surprised stands no chance as of yet...the pace would overwhelm any country
I'm waiting for them to step it up from 155mm to 200mm 😮
Will not happen ever. Heavier vehicle, lower firerate, lower range, fewer shells on board. Too many drawbacks.
M 1299 ...replace 109Palladin
can these artillery systems with long barrels have screw in barrels?
Don't build up the states you have to watch out for mega
❤
I didn't see the BFG.
Good video, but I'm not convinced that the mortar/APC combo is a cost-effective system. Won't the unit have self-propelled artillery to hand?
A nd generally the airforce will have jets and drones as well
Use in southern Asia and kindness amen thank you for sharing your mind and kindness heart influenced enlightenerment coincidence country music instruments now immediately amen thank you for council
Your headline and statement seems to be off .In a write up u commence with addressing the deadline
Actually new ammo, not a new cannon.
Good commercial hopefully better as the junk what the US send to Ukraine.
We need to make new 8 inch howitzers with extended range
What is rung with the one we have!
we need 8 inch and 175 mm also. Used in Vietnam was there.
Already obsolescent.
777❤
US government already pass a bill to fix all the road and train rail and bridge. Quit complain and vote who will be to do the job in the capitol hill from your local representatives
Lol, finally!!, Like we're in the middle of a raging War, and Theirs plenty of killing machines other than this one
And, Putin says: HOLD MY BEAR.
Why? The US cannot even supply enough ammo for a fraction of their artillery in Ukraine.
What's the point of making more artillery pieces with no shells?
Send it to Ukraine and see how long it lasts
They will help the homeless and combat drug addiction.
BRUTUS kills CAESAR😊
Not enough range or destructive power
It did pretty good when { fierd it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah dare you stand around when you're ne lands I bet we can't find you
USA can
Putin still has the biggest rockit, , 😂
Putin hate Caesar, of course is a better self propelled howitzer in the world...really deadly, ask nazi-ruSSian soldiers :)
Lots of Wunderwaffes but cant' win any wars.
So get 'em to Ukraine STAT !
My eyes it's on the howitzer I feel like I want to have one in the Porsche but that's look more for the one you let fall the 🛣️ little rocket 🚀 in. The torpedos I guess it's call 👊 or the very best it's the howitzer 👊🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩🔩
