The most profitable investment for Pap , your $1 will become $100 when you invest in dormitories. Over 10 years your $1 will make $1000 because Pap has magic fingers and your investments in dormitories and FW will set Singapore into first world with 3 rd world labour cost.
This is how Singapore has prospers from migrant labours to migrant dormitories. We have move from 3 rd world migrant labours to first world landlords.

    Hindsight is always 20/20.
To be fair to Ms Josephine Teo, Mr Lawrence Wong and Mr Gan Kim Yong, the migrant conundrum has been several years in the making but the entire community of Singapore (lest the stakeholders and volunteers) chooses to be oblivious to the ugly truth. And now, the declining psychological wellbeing of the suffering migrants must be addressed expediently.
As for Mr Heng Swee Keat, he is a hardworking and intelligent individual who may be experiencing speech deficit from his stroke, thus the awkward East Coast Incident. Give him time to prove himself (though I still hope WP will prevail at East Coast).
My question to PM is the credibility of the person seated left of him. His double talking and trumpeting in Parliament is most distracting.

That's why, as challenging as it is (1) the Government has to set feasible market rate benchmarks for basic salary over the menial jobs which locals don't desire (2) hefty taxes should be imposed on non-essential 'wants' e.g. premium cars, jewellery, branded bags and accessories, organic food (no additional benefit over conventional food) and tuition (redundant billion-dollar industry depriving kids of their childhood as schools are already conducting exam preparatory classes) (3) local SMEs must wean off the 'Minimal Labour Cost for Maximal Profit' mindset.

Worst of all, why are these dependents of work pass holder are allowed to come to Singapore during this period of time? Vulcan Keave; my hubby’s 70 & I’m 62. Tell me how this is going to benefit us? Both of us have health challenges -
Good news; a S$3,000 top up (over 5 years starting from 2021) from the Government for *eligible Seniors*😃
      Summary:
Dollar-for-dollar match cash top up in retirement account (special account).
      Age: 55-70 years old.
      Capped at $600/ year.
      That is $50/ month.
      From 2021-2025.
So which means in these 5 years:
Top up $3000 and gov will match with another $3000.
So after 5 years, it becomes $6000 in Special account as part of retirement fund.
You may not need this, but please feel free to forward it to someone who need it.

How to build so many so last minute and hire enough peope to run them. Not to say, the workers may riot too if lock down the dormitories too fast without enough time to communicate with them. Easy to criticize but one must know it is a problem that whole of Singapore must be accountable too. Are we ready to have more dormitories and some near your house? Are Singaporeans willing to work in the dormitories bearing in mind some operators are finding it difficult to hire locals to work there?

Since most of these foreigners are from 3rd world nations, how to expect their living standards to be that of 1st world nations. Compounded with the fact that their community lifestyles is like that? Besides, has MOM other than issuing fines to these dorms operators do anything more to ensure that the dorms are maintained according to MOH’s & SCDF’s guidelines/SOPs. Are fire drills held every ur? I remember working with KH whose boss is very proPAP & he would send SOs who can’t work in fast pace environments to yishun dorm. So besides sending the senior SOs, he also transferred a SOs with mental & hygiene issues there. Guess what happens? Later the agency had to asked him to resign following PAPs style. Every yr, when there’s an audit, guess what happens? U go figure it out.

The only good thing that covid has done is to prolong PM Lee's leading. Thank God we have him around to deal with this crisis. A good Parliament is really important, experience and knowledge as well. PM Lee and the older ministers have both experience, knowledge and wisdom. May the old ministers groom the new ones, not forgetting to pass on their knowledge, may the new ministers be humble and learn, so they will be equipped to lead Singapore in the future. Talk is cheap, the blood and sweat behind remains unseen. We thank you ministers for all your hard work for Singapore - one of the top countries in the world.

This disease symptoms 1) gets terribly agitated when you cannot tahan someone who happens to be more capable and wealthier than you 2) gets dizzy when you cannot tahan someone from a humble background and rise above you. Since SG offers scholarships to Singaporeans regardless of race, language or religion and family background, many Singaporeans from humble background had successfully risen. Those who are willing to contribute to SG, sacrificed their personal and family time. No $$ can compensate this to their spouse and children. Yes, the pay is better than you wish them to have. Guess what, they can always leave and be gainfully employed with similar or more pay and benefits AND definitely with MORE PERSONAL FREEDOM for themselves and family. They will not be living under the microscope. Corporations are constantly looking for capable talents, and yes, they can be foreign talents in the world outside SG. I’m sure you’ve very intelligent and capable friends in your circle of friends, ask them or perhaps yourself if you’re willing to to step into this ‘pot of boiling oil’ call SG politics.

      Canada's migrant workers covid-19 related death & issues :

And I'm sure we Singaporeans understand that Canada is not a 3rd world country. The issue is still on going and some are still having problem with medical cost and not being paid when they are sick.
Canada has lots of land to offer all these foreign workers PR and then citizenship. And Canada has lots of foreign labours in hotels, factories, farms, fast food restaurants etc as long as jobs that locals don't like to do.
Latest job offer: work in the seniors home where most Covid deaths occurred in the communities.
No experience is OK. They will train and the pay will be high, about S$26 PER HOUR.
Foreigners are offered that job. After 2 years, PR status is available, and followed by citizenship. Is this the solution to the problem?
Oh yes, they can buy their own BTOs with their families and no more dormitories for them !!
      A good solution !!??

@@dianalee6065 paid citizenship. Singapore is starting to sink from overpopulation and over consumptions. Rising sea levels and global warming is the problem when you increase your carbon footprint with increase pollutions from cars ,cruise liners ,barges ,ferries and airplanes per square foot. Singapore is not Canada and do not house 90% of its populations in high density flats.

@@gha9543 Dear G Ha, totally agree with you!!!
Whenever I visit the National Art Gallery, I have that nostalgic romantic thought - how beautiful it must've been when our forefathers paid for their respective tongkangs/ dhow/ to sail to this island.
After paying theur passage they also paid by blood, sweat and tears for us to be what we are today.
Due to this man called LKY who made our forefathers' dreams come true. Now SOME of our forefathers' decendants are standing tall and feel the entitlements - we should have ....my right .... by using fingers to complain on social medias as long as there's no need to lift fingers to work towards SG numerous complicated issues.
At that time, our forefathers did pay for their citizenship though not monetary!!
Through their painful efforts, we are now attracting people from all over the world ! Is this success is causing our many failures in today's world. WE ALL WANT world things to exhibit our achievements!!
Let's not have too many cars on our road - have your heard all those complaints regarding high COE??
Let's have less planes flying - happening now in Covid-19 era - are you hearing cries of layoff and pay reductions!
Perhaps, lets have fewer buildings and reduce HDB density - can you hear generational squabbles leading to divorces etc etc
Shall we look for solutions - remember we are living in this huge mess call THE WORLD.
Everyone has to put their 2-cents contributions. Yes, efforts and not just complaints.
So dear G Ga, fully support efforts.
Majullah Singapura, definitely not gostan-la Singapura!!

People question the high salary of PM and his ministers, compared to the salaries of footballers in top leagues in Europe - where the majority did not even complete their studies - are peanut.
