- The Gardaí are now testing drivers for drugs. And there's a new resource to help them catch drug drivers: the Drager Drug Test 5000. Now, they'll be able to take oral fluid from drivers to test if they've taken any of cocaine, cannabis, opioids or benzodiazepines. This video depicts a drug driving checkpoint, demonstrating how the Drager 5000 works and the consequences that will happen if you are caught drink driving. @@user-lz5wf yeah, exactly. I personally don’t think smoking weed is bad and I think it should be decriminalised, but smoking it and then putting yourself in control of what is essentially a 2 ton block of metal on wheels that can go 70+ miles an hour is just wrong.
Besides, the police/guards will do this same stuff to people who drive under the influence of alcohol, so why shouldn’t it also apply to weed too when it also impairs someone’s ability to drive a car?
It's a joke....the problem is the sensitivity of thedrugwipe saliva test is too sensitive. I mean what's wrong with treating it the same as alcohol....I wouldn't drive drunk ...nor stoned after a sneaky vape on a Friday night...yet could be positive 72 hours later and potentially be banned for a year.....not a fair system.
Or else the drug wipe 6s saliva kits should be available to the public so we can safely check ourselves.....

Things like this will end up costing the tax payer...loss of income/job, homes in some cases...so people go on benefits...for the sake of a fkg spliff? I can understand heroine etc but long term smokers should be in a different category of competency testing, long time users are not affected the same way newbies are. But hey, brains seem to escape the majority of people in power.

Of course there are some individuals who are exceptions and make weed look bad.
In many countries, drivers at biggest percentage are weed users and are the safest in the world. No need to say that when we say weed user, im talkin only and after you are finished your job.
