You do not think it could be that 4-5 border enforcement agents were running at the group so that was why he knew there was an issue and not necessarily he knew there were cigarettes in the bags? What dubber logic that guy has. Granted he may have known but the fact he wanted to distance himself from people who are getting busted for something does not make him an accomplice and it certainly does not point to him knowing exactly what was in the bag or even that he knew ahead that there was something wrong.
@SomethingReallyStrange - 100% agree that is the same thing I thought of as well (about what if I were picking up a friend or family member and had no idea). Also the only reason they got to the car was the security let them... so kinda seemed even more like they baited them to get the car too (but yeah maybe they had a good reason for it... but it just didn't seem so as they seemed similar to all of the other cigarette smugglers).
@SomethingReallyStrange Imagine if it was just an Uber driver
Game Loot I totally agree. I watched another one of these programmes were a British couple were stopped with 36 thousand cigarettes. The officers were really polite and joking with them. Let them go without a warning. These people here were treated badly.
If they went into a Taxi, would they have seized that as well?
All that fuss for tobacco
When We entered Victoria, BC from a cruise ship we didn't have to undergo any border scrutiny as we disembarked for sight-seeing for a day. That scrutiny was done onboard the vessel in advance as cruise ship authorities checked our US citizenship documents. It would have been easy to stay behind in the country but then who the hell would want to do that?
Geez, I speak the same language as that Scot and I can barely understand him… how can someone from a non-English speaking country possibly comprehend any of his questions?
I have been stopped because they thought I was smuggling drugs (I was 15 at the time) turns out it was my medicine lmao
These are not elite officers. I disagree strongly with their approaches.
Marcin Jechorek lmao yeah sure ok that’s why they apologised and I didn’t go to jail 😂
if im on vacation especially abroad im going to have a few thousand in cash on me in separate places for safety, my atm card or check may not work everywhere
Exactly I just commented the same thing.
@@MsNikkieMichelle how is £3000 a lot of money? sure it could be savings or a loan or from other sources
@@mpat100 money laundering across boarders. Hence the limit. I don’t carry cash when traveling abroad I wait till I get to my destination
The thing is to declare your money. You can bring as much as you want in most countries.
@@Soda413 but why does he have to pay tax on it? I dont understand, it could be his savings or a loan he got from someone, its not like it was £50,000, its only £3000 he had
If the government didn’t tax the hell out of things you wouldn’t need so many custom officers
Officer Pete was just jealous. It wasn’t a holiday to celebrate being unemployed it was to celebrate getting through the year.
'He's starting to get a bit angtsy about it' - maybe it's just me, but I would even with nothing on me. I came from Colombia once, and had the TSA (in the US) search through my bags, looking at me all suspiciously, and I felt nervous as hell. They were super intimidating. Even though I had nothing at all. Although, the UK officers might be more chill.

Don’t feel bad. My stuff is always being searched and I’ve been tested for bomb residue many times due the the medications I carry and I take up to 2 liters of fluids on my carry on and several more liters in checked baggage ( I’m on home IV hydration so when I fly they go with). I get patted down and checked for bomb residue. I guess I’m just used to it by now.
I went thru TSA a couple years after 9/11, I hardly ever fly before or since.
So, here I am, Mr. Naive country boy and I am in line. I see ppl taking off shoes, I think, "I forgot about that", then, "damn shoulda wore flip flops".
We get closer and the lady at the x ray machine is super pissy ...
Then I notice her throwing out fluids, and the agents are like on edge about it AND OF COURSE I have these full shampoo bootles.
So to be proactive, I just go over to the trash cans they have scattered around and throw out ALL my fluids. Little, Big, whatever.
THAT makes the TSA gal in the lobby even more aggravated "Why are you throwing all that out??"
Almost aggressive on me, so I just bark back," I have no idea of the carry on rules, I never fly, but I am tired of being in line, Walmart sells everything I need when I land, so..... it all goes in the trash. "
That really ticks her and her TSA buddies off. They come over in a group, before they speak, I say, "guys listen, the managers here put 5 trash cans in this lobby so people can throw their own stuff out and the line moves faster" "I just threw mine out, you want that I should take it out of the trash?"
They didnt like that either.
Now that I'm older and wiser, I just UPS my stuff to the hotel and carry a very small overnight bag. And I wear Jesus sandals.
7:07 They're just very heavy smokers. Probably a few hundred packs a day. Before I quit, I was burning through at least 600 to 700 packs a day
🤣🤣🤣
Wow its amazing that you're still alive and not succumbed to lung cancer
On one flight we had a couple were stopped on the stairs and told to empty their bags which was so wrong, in the open broke all privacy rules there are. The airport customs officer just tipped out the suitcase contents on the floor so everyone could see.
Dam , that's pretty devious to wait until the cigarettes are in the vehicle, then seize the vehicle.
Holiday for 1 night and brings back 70,000 cigarettes? Seems legit.
Just cuz there nervous doesn’t mean there smuggling anything you have to think people might have anxiety issues 🙄
Good point, Katie. I have only flown once, from Illinois to California. I was very nervous, and did not want to fly. I was not impressed with anything, until i arrived back in Chicago. That skyline was magnificent.
I was nervous once when my baggage got searched and the baggage lock broke in SFO, almost missed my flight too lol
Crap. Yes they might and they might not. Most innocent people aren't, you dolt.
@@aislingsibeallyons3416 Since you aren’t leaving your bed, I doubt any airport customs personnel would jump to conclusions about you
@@aislingsibeallyons3416 Anxiety? How do go to the bathroom if you don't leave your bed?
They completely made up a story about the Polish car driver. That was pure prejudice without any evidence whatsoever.
Wondering why the United States doesn’t have a program like this
