      She’s awesome! I’ve used the stuff she recommends, and they work great! I always refer to her.
      My cleaning lady is AWFUL, and I just realized she hasn’t moved even an ottoman in casters and cleaned the floor underneath! I’m going to have to get someone else, or do it myself. I pay her a lot for my house, too, but she’s a friend. 🥲
      Anyone know how to get a nubby flat mop head back on the mop? I washed it, and it’s too tight to get back on. I even used pliers!!

    I appreciate your videos so much! I just took on cleaning a 9,000 sq ft house and the previous cleaning lady said we have to be on hands and knees to scrub floors because that’s how she’s done it for 8 years... I’m grateful for all the mops you show because I think there’s got to be a smarter way than wrecking my knees 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Here's my tip I just taught myself................Swiffer mop and instead of using Swiffer cloths, I substituted microfiber cloths that I buy at Costco. The cloths are a little big, but I think they makes it even better because you get cushion on the sides of the mop head. I use them wet and dry and then throw them in the wash. They clean much better than the "other" cloths. I also use the cloths for dusting and other cleaning. I have a whole bucket of them.

      I know right? They don't tell you that in the stores when you buy them. And they are great for steaming up food, gunk and dog slobber or pee. But as a general rule when it comes to hardwood floors, less is more. Less water, less steam, less chemicals. A damp microfiber mop usually does the trick.

      The only drawback to the O'Cedar mop bucket is that when it is full of water, it tips forward (so you have to be careful when you carry it). It seems the design engineers forgot to check where the balance point of the handle is when the bucket has the water weight added to it!

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Před 3 lety +4

      It's not recommended because the heat will loosen the glue that sticks the vinyl to the floor. The flooring will eventually start picking up on the edges and turn black in the seams and then trip you when you walk.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Před 2 lety +1

      Before buying any mop you can check out the specs online. Most stores and online shops have the descriptions and the sizes so you don't make an error when purchasing. That would be my best suggestion so the answer you get is specific to the mop you are considering.

    Thanks for the video. We are building a new home. We are going to have hardwood floors throughout and the main level of the home is about 2600 sqft. We were recommended the Bona system by the wood flooring store. But my concern is that to do the whole main level will get exhausting spray/mop/spray/mop. Also, buying the refill seems like it would be a constant cost. I’m interested in the steam mops. what do you think would be ideal for whole floor mopping? Or should I consider the Mopnado?

    I bought a Wagner steamer because it had a huge piece for removing wallpaper. Attachments loosen stubborn grunge, window glazing putty, floor adhesive. It has a floor mop piece with washable head but you can easily attach the right size microfiber cloths to the clamps. I started out with a Hoover Floormate ten years ago, still going strong except small breaks to plastic pieces. Recently, my husband bought me a Bissel Crosswave floor scrubber. It. Gets. Floors. DRY as it cleans. I have true hardwood floors and it leaves them almost dry.
    Check your floor warranty for whether it is appropriate to use certain products and cleaners. My steamer took stick on vinyl tiles right up! Can be handy?

    I have the Bissell. 15:26 Can we use it on engineered wood floors?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Před rokem

      Yes, it is generally safe to use a Bissell vacuum on engineered floors, but it's important to take certain precautions to avoid causing damage to the flooring.
      Firstly, make sure that the Bissell vacuum you are using has adjustable suction settings. Engineered floors are typically more delicate than other flooring materials, so using a vacuum with high suction power could potentially cause scratches or damage.
      Secondly, make sure that the Bissell vacuum you are using has a soft-bristled brush roll or attachment. Hard-bristled brush rolls can cause scratches or scuff marks on the surface of the flooring, which can be difficult or expensive to repair.
      Thirdly, before using the Bissell vacuum on your engineered floors, make sure to test it in an inconspicuous area to ensure that it does not cause any damage or leave any marks. If you notice any damage or scratching, stop using the vacuum immediately and consider alternative cleaning methods.
      In general, it's recommended to use a soft-bristled broom or a microfiber mop to clean engineered floors, as these methods are gentle and effective at removing dirt and debris without causing damage. Regular maintenance, such as sweeping or dry mopping, can also help to prevent scratches or damage to the flooring.

      To clean old pecan wood from the 50s, start by dusting it with a soft-bristled brush. Mix a solution of warm water and mild dish soap or wood cleaner, and use a soft sponge or cloth to apply the solution to the wood. For tough stains or buildup, try using a solution of equal parts vinegar and water or a commercial wood cleaner. To remove salt buildup that may be causing a slippery area, mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water, apply it to the area, and rinse with clean water. Finally, protect the wood by applying a coat of wax or polish designed for use on antique or delicate woods. Hope this helps.
