Welcome to my Channel,
My name is James and I live full time in my tiny van, however this is not just a van life channel. I enjoy travel, food and drink and making videos 🙂
When I turned 50 I decided I'd had enough of the rat race and working long hours just to pay rent and bills, life was passing me by and I needed a drastic change.

Where is Helen?
Helen has a responsible full time job and two children so unfortunately she can't join me on every trip. I really wish she could.
What equipment do you use?
My vlogging camera is a GoPro Hero 9 but I also use my pixel 6a phone and Lumix G80 camera for other footage
For editing, I used Premiere Pro on an old laptop but I'm saving to buy a more powerful computer.
Do you have children?
Yes I have a 6yr old daughter who lives with her mum but I see her quite a lot. I don't usually put her on the vlogs and if I do, I block out her face for privacy reasons. I also have a grown up son.
How do you fund your lifestyle?
I don't need as much to live these days since going full time van life but I receive a small percentage of income from the ads that CZcams put on the videos.
Why the sponsored videos?
I only accept sponsorship from companies I use and trust, this is my fulltime job and my income, it's how I support my family. (I have Patreon if you prefer videos with no ads).

I tried to retire to Lanzarote aged 58 when my youngest went off to college
I stayed 2 years and it was pretty idyllic like your recent videos
But I missed my own culture in Ireland and most of all I missed my 3 kids and grandkids
They visited a couple times a year but it still pulled my heart strings missing them
The duty free fags and brandy and wine at a euro a litre were very enticing
A neighbour told me many ex pats retired to the sun and died of alcoholism
I decided to come home to rainy Ireland
But you two establish what is important...each other
I'd say that dying of alcoholism was more a reflection of the type of person who makes up a high percentage of ex-pats, at least they used to before Brexit. Now anyone retiring there has to put real effort in and actually work hard to become a resident. Very different sort of person. However, the idea that people don't die of alcoholism in Ireland made me raise an eyebrow. My visits there showed me just what a light-weight I am!😄
I would have loved to retire to the North of Tenerife. Gorgeous island in the North. But that's no longer possible. I don't think I'd miss England at all now. And I don't have family to miss and I hate the way it's turned.

Were there in December. Wave pool was open as well. Must have just shut after Christmas. Great place for the whole family. Will hopefully be back again next Christmas.

You definitely went the quieter time of year, we've never bought fast passes, because I'm tight and that way you get a bit of rest in-between steps 👍
Been with the kids to Siam park 3 times before, you definitely picked the right time of year to go, we went in August last time it was crazy busy and scorching hot, with hardly anywhere to shade. And the queues were massive. It's a great place though, enjoyed it every time we've been.

That was fabulous. I'm a total wuss where rides are concerned and would not have been brave enough to do any of them apart from the Lazy River and the wave pool if it had been open. So I had a great time enjoying the high speed rides with you from the dry comfort of my office chair!
I have to say, you make very good content. Your video making is really natural.
I have been to Tenerife twice in December and loved that winter sunshine. Although it's very odd seeing full Christmas decorations and light shows as you wander around the balmy streets and squares at night in summer clothes and flip-flops. It's a great experience in winter. Sorry you had to come back! It's too cold right now. Although at least it's a break from the infernal wet.

Went in October... 53 and loved in. Dragon fav ride but lots of good ones. Out tui hotel included free entry so paid for fast pass which was worth it. Shame with wave pool as that also was superb

Wow, I knew it was a great water park as my son when a few years ago with his swimming club and he said it was a great day out, so jealous I want to go now ! Still a big kid at heart and although it sounds expensive I can remember paying not much less than that in Cyprus a few years ago and Siam park looks 10 times better than the one in Cyprus!
We found it great value as it included food. We would have spent more than that in a pub and cafe/bar
