Great routine doc. It’s manageable for me. Very balanced routine with the right amount of breaks for my skin so my skin won’t get damaged. My skin needs more breaks from actives. I just can’t see myself putting tretnoin on every night.
I use retin-A on my back and chest every night. I also wash my face and body with benzoyl peroxide every night. I’ve been using retin-a cream 0.1% for a few months every night but I still have clogged pores every night.
Yes, but you have to be careful. Moon Juice Acid Potion is pretty strong for skin not used to glycolic acid. So if you've never used chemical exfoliators, I would not suggest that product. I'm a light/medium brown Black woman, with normal-oily skin. Any irritation can lead to hyperpigmentation. She doesn't address this, and a lot of these derms don't include brown skins in their regimen recommendations. Do a CZcams search. There are Black derms who address using Glycolic Acid. If you're a person who doesn't like to read and follow instructions? You can EASILY burn your skin. I use the Moon Juice Acid Potion. The day before "Exfoliation Night", I don't use ANY products with acids/that exfoliate. The day of, I use a very mild cleanser, let my skin dry and wait about 10 minutes. Moon Juice suggests you "pat" the solution into the skin, using your hands - don't use pads. They waste product and can add "friction" that can irritate the skin. Once the product sinks in and dries? I moisturize with the LA Roche Posay Touleraine moisturizer shown on this video - I love that moisturizer.
