I was taking the train back to my hotel at 2 in the morning ,and saw them washing the station (forgot the station name),but it was satisfying to see them wash with warm steaming water.
I see the Mobile Wash Team ALL the time overnight! Recently saw them working @ 207th Street on the 'A' line! That's the best time to powerwash those stations when there's less people and less trains and it's even more awesome when it's done overnight!
I've only seen them doing this once, but the station was open during it. We all waited on the steps and got on the train at an area they weren't working. As many times as I've been on the subway during the middle of the night, I'm surprised I haven't seen them more. They do a good job tho.
Was watching one of my favourite videos by Nomadic Ambeiance and he is walking around NYC in the rain and I see these trucks always wondered what they do. Thanks for the video.
they cant power wash the inside it has electronic stuff, also everytime the train gets to the last station they clean it then go again till they get to the other last stop, but after a while it gets dirty by the passengers
No. Subway action plan simply did quickie overhaul job on selected stations like wall art, lights nothing particularly useful. Stations being cleaned is a constant job more so by socioeconomic status of neighborhood.
I've been watching this for years I love it its so cool but Noone seems to know it's been like that for years every night they do this at a lot of stations than people mess it up a few hours later
@mtainfo If you work as a transit cleaner for NYCT how does one apply to become part of the mobile wash team? Also is the mobile wash unit a promotional job from transit cleaner?
Omega Gamer I’m talking about trains, not buses. And on that note, they really need to step up maintenance on the borough. Maybe power wash the interiors while you’re at it.
Hey MTA, why not send the wash team to the Grant Avenue subway station on the IND Fulton Street Line, it reeks of urine at every single column and its always dirty. I have not seen it cleaned once and it's looked as dirty, if not, dirtier than it was 3 months ago
@Brian The Explorer like I said, been 3 months, and I use the station more than 2x a day, surely I wouldve noticed something if it had been every 35 days 😪
PokemonSwagg23 Send them to the IRT stations south of Atlantic-Barclays. They could all use a deep clean. Also, don’t stop there. Give them a facelift, two non-consecutive stations at a time.
What, you think they're not replacing old stations? And why do you think replacing it will prevent it from getting dirty? Everything gets dirty, so everything needs to be cleaned. No reason to replace the entire station just because it's dirty...
BenTheMiner - Transit & Games Some of the stations would need a deep clean. However, don’t stop there. Let’s replace the column paint, tiles, and lights while they’re at it. Make the place much more brighter and inviting (Franklin on the 2, 3, 4, and 5 I see dirty tiles at the end of the platform).
That is why, as a railroad buff that I have been telling The Best People Around, that is the transit workers, that they work more harder than they should.
Sure, go get a job with NYCT and sit around doing nothing. Let's see how long you last before you're thrown out. Guess what time it is, it's time for union contract re-negotiation. The MTA will stop at nothing to make these guys look like millionaires doing nothing in the news so they get a bad contract. Sheep like you are the problem, not these guys busting their behinds to clean up after you for a half-decent wage.
Good start but to clean a system this large the efforts have to be doubled in addition all stations should be power cleaned an average of not 35 days but every 15. This is the only way to keep on top of keeping the system clean. Every time a train enters the end of its trip it should have mta cleaning workers to spot inspect and spot clean the cars. It takes a concentrated effort but it will yield benefits, cleaner system reductions of the vermin and a healthier mta system.... just my one cent. Ps. Just too add a half of cent trains are cleaned when they reach there terminals but with more workers it would certainly yield cleaner trains.
@@BenTheMiner just laying out a plan and its imo or my one cent I did not mention that they don't. But I do see by your lack of comment that the mta cleaning department needs to double their efforts. Chambers Street doesn't exist.
It's a conspiracy
Lol
The Mobile wash team at MTA will clean the Chambers Street soon.
😂
Would love a CZcams series on this, following the station cleaning crew around and everything they do
I got you with that no problem. Thanks for the feedback.
I can actually say I’ve saw them do this regularly when I worked nights heavy duty machines were visible

atleast we now know our stations are clean! 👍
or are they
These guys are the unsung hero’s of the subway
It would be nice if they power wash the inside of the train. It's always filthy!
They are regularly cleaned, but it's just careless people and the homeless that carry trash with them that make the conditions worse
The stations are definitely more dirty and that's why they're focusing on that too.
they cant power wash the inside it has electronic stuff, also everytime the train gets to the last station they clean it then go again till they get to the other last stop, but after a while it gets dirty by the passengers
they already clean the surfaces once the train hits it's terminal station, some examples would be 96th Street on the Q and WTC on the E
thanks for this great job! We love you !
Thank you Mobile Wash Team!

Four boroughs, NYC Tranist. You don’t have a subway in Staten Island. Last time I checked, you guys considered that thing on the Island a railway.
