In Europe we have also the WCQ Nationals. And they are a fantastic opportunity because the leading field often already has their qualification so the invites are passed down to the very low places.

The closest card store to me is 50 minuets away. But I still go almost every weekend and still have to call it my locals

I kind of have the same thing. There are some closer but they only do magic. And my original card store I went to was still far like 30-40 minuets far but it ran out of business while I was taking a break. I think from right before pepe I left and then came back during zoodiac.
Atleast you have an official store, in Latvia there are none, and only place where we can play is at a small interest club like place. And closest official tournaments to me are some locals in Lithuania and they are 4 hours away and attendance is 20 people max..................

Damn you guys definitely have it worse. I kept comparing myself to people who have theirs like 20 mins away. My locals has double box tournaments on Saturdays, single box tournaments on Sundays and free tournaments on Fridays.

Europe also has nationals per country. For european players in small countrys or countrys with a low playerbase this is the easyest way to qualify since the top 64 is always qualified. Like a YCS it is usualy a 2 day event
I went 5-1-2 and placed 20th in Ottowa March 3rd.
I have never been to a YCS or WCQ, but am looking to attend future UK events. Do you need to apply/ register or can you just turn up on the day?

So I'd I'm correct, If you get 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th you get an invite? If so than you may be wrong, because I won three tournernemts and still haven't got my invite, although if you have to be a certain age, than that may be why too. I'm a 13 year old kid with great dueling potential, please help me.
i earned my invite in November 2017 and yet konami is really being slow imo as far as updating my name goes on the invite list and i emailed them quite a few times and yet they just ask me the same questions and never reply back tbh idk what to do if they forget to put my name on the invite list per say :(

We really need this kinda video done from an Australian prospective cause its quite limited information and yu-gi-oh has a negative public stigma and how are you supposed to get started without travel if there in cities you have nowhere to stay? How do you circumvent that issue for a person who only got too play in the yugioh gx tournament's at age 10 with the adults when it was popular im at a loss does anyone here know what to do
I'm pretty sure there are YCS events in major cities in Australia, and most major cities have hotels. Most people go that route. It's a big investment, but most people who are good enough are invested to that degree anyway.
David Hoch im glad you're trying to help i really am but you're not from my state or county we have 1 ycs thats it regional tournements are for places close to brisbane like ipswich where ya get mugged and locals doesn't get you no where cause the card stores arent big enough to have a regionals hosted there or anywhere information is so hard too find yu-gi-oh abandoned Australia really when was the last guy from Australia to get into worlds telling us how he got there list some please because popularity and respect for yugioh here is about the same as the size of an asians dick

How can someone even measure their skill nowadays? The format is hella toxic. Its all about who can otk someone the fastest. There's 0 skill in that with todays decks.
Hibari Kyoya you have to have skill to OTK your opponent. I.E building a deck that will OTK your opponent with different combinations of hands.
