As a kid, when I was away from home during school break. It was the first time I felt homesick. She seems homesick and wants to go home. It wasn’t the parents that I missed. It was home, it was my safe place.
I read somewhere that people with Alzheimer's like familiarity and as Betty is sometimes asking to go home do you have any of her furniture from her previous home? I thought maybe you could convert a room in the house to look like her old living room and then when she wants to go home she could be wheeled in there and pretend she's home. She could then come out thinking she's visiting Josh's house and then go back 'home' again when she wants to. Just my thoughts ❤
@@user-mc8di2ch9d It’s not that simple. Sometimes it is better to tell a small white lie than tell the truth and get a person really upset. If someone with Alzheimer’s was asking for their parent it’s probably not wise to tell to their face that the parent is dead even if that is true. I’m not saying to tell that the parent is alive but explain gently that the parent is safe and in a good place.

Yes they do live with Josh.
They have for 10 years. But alzheimers patients often think they're 28 or 32 or something. So home to her is probably sometime 50 years ago or more.
