  • The purpose of me requesting they react to songs like these is just to expose them to music they may or may not have heard before, to expand their horizons and to sate my curiosity over whether they will like them or not. As such I don't really care about likes/dislikes on these video postings or even the popularity of my channel or theirs for that matter.
Also nothing is monetized on my channel so I make no money from posting them, they do these for me and I just post them here in case other people are curious what they think of these songs too after they send me them and I have watched them myself. As mentioned this is not their channel, if you wish to visit their channel it can be found listed below.

"He was a punk and lived in the big city
It was in Vienna, in Vienna, where he did everything
He had debts because he drank, but women all loved him anyway
And everybody screamed: "Come and rock me Amadeus!"
He was a superstar, he was popular
He was exalted, because he had flair
He was a virtuoso, he was a rock idol
And everybody screamed: "Come and rock me Amadeus!"
It was around 1780 and it was in Vienna
No plastic money any more, the banks were against him
Everyone knew where the debts came from
He was a ladies' man, women loved his punk
He was a superstar, he was popular
He was too exalted, and that was his flair
He was a virtuoso, he was a rock idol
And everybody's still screaming: "Come and rock me Amadeus!"

Falco's music is an integral part of Austrian culture and it will never be forgotten. He sang many songs in both German and English and was the only Austrian to reach number 1 on the Billboard with a song in German (Rock me Amadeus). Thank you for your great reaction. As a slightly offended American I can't criticize. You have to consider the age, experience and worldliness of some reacters. Americans have to travel thousands of miles to know another culture/language. In Europe, another culture/language is as close as 500 miles or closer. A short drive. Except for Mexico, Americans have to take long flights to find another language. A lot of reactions are without warning or explanation.

It cracks me up when youngsters think they know when color video came out. Color video was out in the 30s kids. For instance the Wizard of Oz came out in the 1939 and the bulk of it is in color. I can only think of two German sung songs that were hits in the United States and those two were by Nena: 99 Luftballons (99 Red Balloons) and the other was by Falco: Der Kommissar - and both songs had English sung versions. The only other two artists who had major success from Germany in the U.S.A. back in the 1980s were the Scorpions- who sang in English and the German-French duo of Milli Vanilli, towards the latter part of the 1980s. Other artists with mild success were: Kraftwerk, Alphaville and Boney M.

He was a punk and lived in the big city

The reason you are hearing a lot of English words is because English is a West Germanic language. Although it is sprinkled with lots of French, Norse, Latin and more, the base language is German. When you see written German it's quite obvious, but the spoken word can be a little harder to recognise. This song was in German with the chorus being the very English expression, "Rock Me" Amadeus. Also, how can you get to your age and not have heard of Mozart. I like this video because you two are so fresh and raw. I actually find it funny the way you pronounced Amadeus and a few other things. Subbed just on this video alone.

"It sounds like french". Americans never stop to amaze me. Probably the majority of them never heard a language different from English in their whole life. Probably just Spanish, because it is spoken by poor immigrants that do jobs that other people won't do.
