    *There was a bit of a UI error it was displaying weird times for converting buildings, I have tried to edit the video to correct it, just to clarify:
    Tier 1 Buildings take 1 turn to convert, tier 2 take 2 turns, tier 3 take 3 turns.

    that is a welcome change in my book. Sure it was fun to puzzle the right amount of ying and yang for the first 15 turns or so but later it got very old very fast. Actually this was often the reason why I did not start a cathay campaign. I was like..." ah no I have to deal with this crap again all the time..."

      For it is actually more challenging and fun in the later game.. If i didnt get a harmony a get like -8000 upkeep.. But if i get it.. I get 16000 +upkeep.. That makes the game challengjng and fun to play.. And some easy boring stuff where u like a baby want to get buff no matter what u do

    While I appreciate the province-by-province harmony change, I do still think there should be a global harmony balance mechanic. Cathay's harmony mechanic is all about empire building and empire management, so it means you often need to plan ahead as you expand. This concept is why the Chaos Dwarves are so fun to play

    • @synth712
      @synth712 Před 3 měsíci

      Yes true.. The CA buff the mechanic because the noob player complains..
      That s certainly make game no fun and challenging..

    Ngl this is a straight buff to Cathay gameplay, which already is pretty unchallenging in my opinion. I guess I'll be more comfortable cranking up the ultimate crisis mode as Cathay then

  • @Charlys787
    @Charlys787 Před 11 měsíci +3

    My guess: going balanced / money serves you best.
    If you get more money you need no recruit cost reduction.
    If you don't have the money to build up your buildings your growth is worthless.
    Your lategame armies don't sit around, benefiting from local upkeep reduction.

    i feel like cathay will now grow much faster and will make more armys now with the new harmony system and you no longer have to look that you balance ying and yin out what was very annoying even you where researched tech what give you 2-3 yin or ying and 1 more yin or ying what meant you dont wont to lose the bonus relastions and free 45 growth factionwide and now no longer have to us your head much or look what buldings you have and what armys are leaded i really like the new system and cant wait to try it out

  • @Alej0xXx

    Administration center (Yin) is giving +3 recruit ranks for all heroes all provinces? that's crazy, you can easily recruit lvl 20 heroes early and lvl 40 heros no that long into the campaign. I also see they all give now all provinces/factionwide bonuses, like constructions cost reduction and bigger tarifts increases 25% for each of the other money building and extra sell cargo, seems like an income buff overall for Cathay possibly over the previous Harmony system.

    This doesn't necessarily let you optimize the Cathay campaign, but due to Yuan Bo's dragon form attack animations it makes it very easy for him to knock troops off of garrisoned walls, instantly killing them. I don't know if this is unique just to him, but I have seen it work on Lizardmen and Dark Elves walls, though the lizardman walls thus far seem to be the easiest (and funniest to watch accursed lizardmen go sailing off into space).

    • @MercytheMad
      @MercytheMad  Před 10 měsíci

      I haven't used Yuan Bo's dragon form much, but I am an enjoyer of knocking infantry off walls with other units. I'll give Yuan a go next time and see how he compares. I wander if there is a unit who is "The Best" and knocking infantry off walls? I guess anything with high mass and a large footprint would be best?

    So much better than the old system where it was shared for the whole faction. It being province bound and not affected by lords makes much more sense. It was a nightmare to balance for harmony before when recruiting new army.

    Seems like an upgrade on the old system. Previously there was pretty much no reason to not be in harmony but with this you can adapt region to region and your whole empire don’t get screwed over if you conquer a new settlement or if a hero gets wounded. While I did like the balancing with the techs and would have liked perhaps a separate harmony minigame for just technology I’m overall happy with the changes.

    Thank the stars, no more factionwide harmony to constantly balance every turn and every time you take a settlement, research or recruit an army.
    I was stuck with like 20 Yang armies because Yin becomes the economic powerhouse, better control etc. etc. While Yang was better for growth with building cost reduction etc.

  • @synth712
    @synth712 Před 3 měsíci +1

    They make the cathayan army upkeep way more costly after this buff.. This mechanic is trash.. The old one is better..
    Rather has the normal upkeep and more challenging mechanic than easy mechanic with high upkeep..
    CA is out of his mind

  • @JustSome462
    @JustSome462 Před 11 měsíci +2

    I like it being province based (This way you aren't thrown off balance whenever you capture a building) but imo thematically it makes no sense that going full yin or full yang gives you big bonuses with no drawbacks, Cathay is supposed to be all about harmony.
    I would be fine with it if there was some kind of drawback to not being in harmony but like this it's pretty much just going to be full yin until you hit T5 then harmony, temporarily full yang for a province where you want to recruit a lot
    Edit: Also that Yang growth building is definitely going to get nerfed, factionwide building cost reduction on a T3 settlement is OP, you can get free buildings with 16 of those when factoring in the yin focus 20% building cost reduction, hope it actually makes it to this patch at least so i can enjoy it for a bit
