Ohhhh, yes... Organized Noize, and what they did with the Dungeon Family, will always have an extra special place in my heart! Outkast and Goodie Mob were the lifeblood of my teenage years - thank you for all the joy y'all brought to my life growing up! ❤
The souf got sumthin to say
@@parabellum5503 _Word!_ Glad to see an Atlanta artist like JID carry on that tradition of Southern lyricism... _The Never Story_ one of the best albums of recent years!
RIP Rico ... Your life mattered bruh
Dungeon Family, Soulquarians/Native Tongues, and Justus League all represented in one spot.
The Music Gods are very pleased.
R.I.P to legendary Rico Wade
The roots and outkast was a collaboration since like 94-95… Tariq & Malik with Andre and Big Boi would of been incredible 🙏🏼
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Questlove with Organized Noize would have been 🔥🔥🔥
They shouldve did it in 96...illadelph halflife and atliens era
I was living in the ATL during that time attending the Art Institute of Atlanta and I was also an intern at Bobby Browns studio working as an assistant recording engineer a guy that I was friends with named John Bernasky Wall ended getting a job with organized noise.
Rest is Power Rico..and them guys paved a path..! What a musical legacy..! 🫡🫡🫡🫡
Phonte of Little Brother (with Rapper Big Pooh & 9th Wonder), being apart of the Justus League, is like an extension of Organized Noize & the Dungeon Family.
Wow. Say word. Appreciated
1000%
I’m from New Orleans and we definitely studied every coast! Midwest, NY, Cali and even our own. Much respect to the Bronx, 1520 Sedgwick Ave
Was thinking about this interview today with the guys, I hope Rico gets to realise how him and the rest of O.N. have inspired so many…R.I.P. Bro…
I've never bought an Organized Noise produced album that didn't make my life more enjoyable as well as thought provoking. Much like The Roots...and Phonte. Consistent, top-notch artistry with a message. Much respect and appreciation.
The City Of Atlanta needs to bless these guys with their own street. Real pioneers right here.
I agree especially in East Point they did alot for that area of Atlanta them and Outkast need a street name after them.
Big up to my favorite group "Roots" and also to my cousin Phonte....good to see you Fam.
Atlanta and Georgia always was a hub for musical talent Gladys Night, Curtis Mayfield, Ray Charles, James Brown and many more all the way up to now.
RIP Rico! We love you!
A bboy born in 91,I grew up breaking to the roots and OutKast. Thank y'all so much. Bboy approved
Ray bringing the production swagger to the conversation. Love this joint
Learning about the history, relationships, equipment, and TALENT of music! Thank you all!
1:04:59 WRAS FM 88.5 “Rhythm & Vibes” was the show Questlove was referring to where The Roots and Goodie Mob freestyled for 20 minutes straight. Randall Moore & Talib Shabazz were the hosts.
I remember 88.5 Rhythm & Vibes. In the 1990s the radio show was at Clark Atlanta University. I grew up on the music they played.
@@Mr.Majestic77 incorrect. WRAS-FM 88.5 was Georgia State University's radio station. WRFG-FM 89.3 and Georgia Tech's WREK-FM 91.1 were the only other 2 stations in the city that played hiphop. V103 didn't embrace hiphop in their rotation until the brand new station Hot 97.5 (now Hot 107.9) came to the city in the summer of 1995. Clark Atlanta''s station WCLK has been straight jazz since they came on air.
@@jaycee763 I stand corrected lol. You right. I recorded the music they played on my cassette tape and played on my walkman during my 8th grade year in middle school and my entire high school years. That era of underground Hip-Hop in the 1990s expanded my music content from Kilo Ali, Raheem The Dream, Hitman Sammy Sam and other local artist (legends in their own), Geto Boys, 8Ball & MJG, UGK, NWA, CMW, DJ Quik, The Click to the Dungeon Family, Native Tounges, Wu Tang Clan, Boot Camp Click, Onyx, Brand Nubian, The Roots, Nas, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Krs 1, Public Enemy, Jeru the Damaja, Crooklyn Dodgers, Ill & Al Scatch, The Pharcyde, Souls of Myschef, The Artifacts, The Beatnuts, etc.
… actually it was 88.5 …Talib and Randle … “Rhythm & Vibes” … i use to record the show and take the tapes back to college…
I’ve got the bootleg and the info says 88.5 Rhythm & Vibes radio show - GSU - hosted by Taib Shabaz & Randall Moore. 1995 - Goodie Mob & The Roots (Rahzel, BT & Kamal). 19 min freestyle, 30min interview and then Cee-Lo performs Free.
Rico, Ray & Sleepy, the three headed GOAT. I hope Questo gets into how they were one of the few acts he’d hear & have a fire lit within him while recording Roots classics.
This show keeps getting better and better
“As long as we were diggin, we were reading books and learning”

Organized Noize Icons💯👍
Ain't no way I've been listening to QLS on Pandora for the past year and didn't know the video existed on CZcams. 😂 😂 😂 I thought it was ALL audio! Now I gotta rewatch everything I listened to! 😂
I feel the same. 😂
@@richardpayton9671 I feel like an old man listening to radio when TVs came out. 😂
They just started putting it on youtube
@@derrickzorns6506 Good! I feel better now. 😂 😂 😂 I scrolled down and realized it was a new thing. 😅
the Sleepy Brown family tie with the Brick/Dazz vibe just blew my mind. I keep trying to find the right words to find why the roots in soul and funk can influence some styles so much, and that has got to be a huge piece of the puzzle. To have not just fans and popularity but also have family ties raising you in music, that is amazing history. Cheers to everyone involved and thanks for all the music.
Holy, wholly, holey excited for this. Can't wait🔥
Questlove .... You definitely have to do Ernie Isley and talk to him about his awesome drumming skills! Thanks!😎
Ernie plays the drums too?!
@@xavierlogistics4057 oh yes!!! He started playing drums at age 12... Then the Bass Guitar, and eventually the Guitar! Definitely a funk drummer and guitarist too!
FINALLY!!!!! I’ve been waiting for Questlove to bring Organized Noize to the podcast!
Rest Easy, Rico!! 🙏🏾🕊💐🙏🏾🕊💐

Finally I can watch the interviews. I liked and subscribed as soon as I found it. I hope there will be more to come.
"Mainstream" was so good that Faith Evan's "Don't Cry" used the same beat the same way... at damn near the same time and was still able to be great... Probably my favorite Outkast track!
