Disney has some strange strategies for keeping its audience by ending its most popular shows.
I think it’s cause a lot of the popular shows involves LGBTQ plus characters and Disney is homophobic and they have to appeal to A bunch of markets in other countries which happen to be homophobic as well it’s a sucky situation all around.

Think the comparison to Amphibia’s ending wasn’t needed given how The Owl House’s themes and Amphibia’s themes are wildly different, so of course their endings are perfect ways to wrap things up.
Going to Amphibia was an escape and Marcy’s selfish decision, it’s good that the girls had to separate themselves. Luz just wants to be understood, and she found a place where she fits in.
Anne wanted to go back to his home, Luz wanted a place to call home. They boch achieved it.
Plus Luz had a pretty good relationship with Amity. Don’t think she could leave her
well tbf luz's thing was also some sort of escapism but her and marcy's goals were completely different. also luz didn't have any attachments in the human realm except for her mom
@Bloob Alternatively, maybe that's why the comparison was useful? Because it makes us think about the differences between the two shows and why the endings were different even though much of the shows' plots could (at first glance) be said to parallel each other.
The opposite's themes in their shows were only secondary to their own's:
Marcy was only friends with Anne and Sasha because she couldn't find friends of her own. And even then, they shared no interest in her interests. Going to Newtopia and becoming Andrias'...scout made her not just live out an escapist fantasy, but to be understood and appreciated for her work.
On the other hand, Luz viewed the Boiling Isles as a clear escape from the Human World and Reality Check Camp; she could've went back anytime she wanted during the first episode, let alone the first season!

The special intro they played before the first broadcast of the finale on Disney Channel was getting me emotional. No surprise ended up crying by the end of the finale.
Been watching this show since before the pandemic and it has meant so much to me. Unfortunate that season 3 happened the way that it did, but glad to see that they had the opportunity to wrap up the story as many cartoons don’t have that luxury these days.

It was a couple minutes of clips from the series that were a few seconds of length each but they replaced the audio with some music. There was different large white words on screen on top of every clip that essentially thanked viewers for watching the show when put together. A mini celebration of the series.
I think it was only broadcast before the first airing as I didn’t see it on the rerun later in the night. It’s on the Disney Channel CZcams channel. It really gives different vibes when watching the finale.

The animation for the last episode is amazing.
The reason there was a map to Titan's Blood is because that's the Whittebanes' old house. I mean, the portal literally leads there, dude. And the reason Flapjack knew where it was is because he was Caleb's palisman.
Hunter's powers are because he absorbed Flapjack.
With Makmark, you, and everyone else making beautiful art and comics, I think it will be really easy to pretend TOH isn't over

This means that hunter was able to absorb his powers and use them to save willow
Presumably absorbing palismen was what gave Belos his powers alongside his extended life

so hunter doesn't just randomly get his powers they were flapjacks powers you can see luz use them against belious in the fight scene and after hunter almost dies and flap jack sacrifices themselves for him hunter gains thoughts powers that flapjack had.

welp, the last season was very short unfortunatly but way better then the svtfoe finale. Even though it felt a bit rushed i´m impressed how good the team worked with the short time they had available. Very good ending i just wish disney would have let them do a full season
It isn't fair to compare the ending of Amphibia to the ending of the Owl House. Yes, both Anne and Luz were thrust into another world, but while Anne was transported to Amphibia against her will, with her initial journey focused on finding a way to return to her own world, Luz made the decision to remain in the Boiling Isles, with Eda giving her the means to return to her own world whenever she wished. That is also why that ending means a lot, as the reason why Luz decided to remain in the Boiling Isles was because she didn't feel at home in her own world.

The Last Problem was (quite unnecessary) retelling of the first episode.
Long story short, it's mostly incomparable with TOH or Amphibia finale. They don't even have similar storybeats.

I didn't like her being the manipulative one. In this she could be MANIPULATED (by Grogar, Tirek or Chrysalis) but NOT MANIPULATIVE.

0:25 Where i live they cut the last 7-8 minutes from the finale in favor of putting the credits over luz talking about how the glyphs didnt work anymore. I was so confused because it left several things unanswered as a result. I didnt learn about the future time skip until about a week later when i was recommended a clip from it on youtube.
I will always be in denial about The Owl House ending, but I believe it was said by Dana, or at least eluded to in a tweet that if Disney ever wanted to revive the show for another season or something that Dana would be willing to come back to continue it, or something similar along those lines. I don't remember the whole thing specifically but that's what I could get from it.
Now we just have to wait for Disney to change their mind and have a new enlightened perspective on cartoons as a whole..........................

1 nitpick. I know it would’ve been kinda weird if Luz stayed dead, but like if I was the collector, and the one time I questioned mortality and thought someone was gone forever, THEY CAME BACK EVEN STRONGER, I would think that’s what happens to everyone. Don’t know why he wouldn’t think that to. Also the first time luz and amity truly met each other was when they had a witches duel, so it feels more obvious that she’d remember. (Amity didn’t know who luz was in episode 3, just that it was something that wasn’t an abomination)
Remember, it wasn't Amity, she was a puppet.
Amity is now an explorer just like Indiana Jones and the book she had is artifact of the history of the war between the titans and the archivsts
This is the first show that I really badly don’t want to end. I am so so so sad that it is over. when it first aired I think I was just 15 or 16 and was just coming to terms with my sexuality, seeing Luz and Amity being an actual couple and being there own character helped me feel a lot more represented. Luz herself I related with because I could never really express myself and seeing that she struggled but found people who would support her through it helped me gain a lot more confidence. I never really had a connection with a show than the owl house. I love this show and am so sad that it is over but I am glad that it was made
I love how the first S3 Ep is like the reverse of the normal show think of it Luz was trapped in the demon realm with her friends then in season three is her friends trapped in her home

The main culprit,Discord, got what he wanted and as a punishment got only a pat on the back and the villains who started showing the effects of being affected by heroes' messages and could have been redeemed were thrown under the bus.
Discord himself said that all he cared about was using them as stepping stones for Twilight and nothing more.
MLP was all about good messages and that was not a good one, especially for a finale of the series.

There is a difference when you show the audience that they can be redeemed, and show change on their own, without heroes pestering them to do so. And then Discord walks in and out, free.
...Yeah, that's a good message of the right characters getting redeemed and what shouldn't have.
They did show that Sombra can't be redeemed, though they had to backstab IDW comics for that, that were released years before the finale.

Do you see in what way the ending is different from Owl House, for example?
It shows a new stage, a continuation of their lives, that isn't a repeat of what already happened. They don't show someone else becoming Belos and doing a repeat.
In MLP it's just "Oh well it's a time-loop at this point I guess", because Twiliht become like Celestia, and guess how G5 started.

I'm really not sure how many people picked it up but its actually not a coincidence that the puzzle box was there. Clues in Belos' mind and in the hayride story stongly imply this: flapjack was evelyn's palismon and while she was visiting the human realm (its not explained how this came about in the first place) she met and fell in love with caleb the witch hunter, they knew they had to keep this secret so they would leave each other hidden messages (the last one being the one we see the hex-crew find in Thanks To Them) Flapjack knew where it was because that house belonged to Caleb all those years ago.

The impact on my personal life was incredible while I was figuring out who I was, and it gave me the confidence to come out to my family as Pan. I love the story and the characters so much and against the odds, Dana Terrace and the team managed to wrap the show up beautifully. Goodbye The Owl House ❤

Fun fact in Canada or at least in Quebec the epilogue of the final episode was cut down, Disney really seems to have a deep dislike for this show because I haven't seen any other show have this happen to them.
Probably edited for time due to Canadian standards in that slot, you may be able to look at the complete credits on Disney official CZcams. The original runtime is 55 minutes, so it needs 1 hr 10 min slot if they include commercials.

The Owl House quickly became one of my favorite shows. The lovable characters, the interesting world, the very well thought out magic system. We were robbed when Disney cut Dana’s fantastic show short. Hopefully we can have more in the future
I still think it's hilarious that one of the most important characters in the entire series is voiced by Arin Hanson.

And then the fuckers would post clips of season 3 on CZcams, but not allowing the season itself to be accessible in my country
