I bought a small canister steamer and it works Magic! I also encased my mattress and box spring encasement covers and have had no further problem for 8 months now. Hallelujah!

    You have find where the bug hid also, if you treat the bed and the bed frame, the bugs will run to the window, curtains, and behind picture frames. Encasing the mattress in proper bug resistant product gives the bugs no hiding places. Diatomaceous earth works alone, a lite dusting the areas works, you must think long term and short term treatments.

    Start by cleaning your bed and covering your mattress with a cover made to keep bedbugs from hiding in it. Put wide masking tape around all legs of your bed. Put a layer of Tanglefoot over the masking tape (it's what's on flypaper and farmers smear it on fruit trees to keep bugs from climbing the trunks). Be sure your blankets don't touch the floor. Now you can sleep in peace while you wait for the diatomaceous earth you spread all over the house to do its job.

      Actually bed bugs can go up too 6 months without feeding because they will go dormant if they lose its food source. They tend to only eat once a week so that they are hard to notice at first. When you start getting bit more then once a week you have a major problem. They tend to come out between 1 and 3 in the morning but they will adjust to your sleep cycle. Usually they only come put when you are sleeping but if your spaced out you may see them coming out when your up but that has to do with your co2 levels and what your body is doing

    • @fernandobernardo6324
      @fernandobernardo6324 Před 2 lety +5

      it is not. They aren't cockroaches. They will invade the cleanest place. You just need to travel and bring them in your luggage. Most people don't even have a reaction to the bites and when they find them it's to late. They were eradicated from most countries and now they are back, spreading in big cities and are immune to almost all insecticides, even DDT.

    • @willalwaysbeunknown1
      @willalwaysbeunknown1 Před 2 lety +5

      That is a true statement. My dad used to do pest control and found infestation in the cleanest of homes especially roaches. Just get a 5 pound bag of DE from walmart and put a sock over your hand and dip it in the bag. Hold your breath or wear a facemask and proceed to powder up lol. They have to touch you to get what they want so if you put DE on yourself and cloths they must touch the DE to get you which will kill them in a few days.

      This works. The bed bugs get the powder on their bodies when they come to you to feed on your yummy blood. They dry up and die several hours later. You might get a little dry skin, but the food grade is safe. Avoid inhaling the dust.
      Do not apply insecticides to your skin. People have killed themselves this way. The goal is to kill the bed bugs without killing ourselves.

      Nirma is a detergent ..I hope any detergent with similar to nirma would work.
      It's not dangerous but keep it away from children as this is not lab tested.
      I didn't find any side effects though .
      But I got rid of bugs only when the beds were placed out in sun for a month 🤣 and also we shifted another place and threw all infested clothes and painted the whole house..
      So sop should be...
      Minimize the bugs on over all visible area..
      Then take out furniture all at once and have this treatment of nirma and Dettol keep it in sun for 1-2 days .
      Meanwhile your furniture is out paint your walls and close all gaps if possible..
      Hope everyone gets rid of this useless creatures...
      It's real embarassment..
      Suffered for 10 yrs straight

Other than that spray ton of bed bug spray that actually works find one that hotels and hospital use.
