To everyone with installer code problem. I struggled with installer code for two months since my electrician didn't have installer code and didn't get it. Finally I understood to change the land to Albania and then it didn't ask the installer code as compulsory.
After you successfully register it you can choose your own country and time zone and address so it is not a problem that you have chosen firstly wrong country. Finally it works!!! 😊

This is a "missing manual". Unfortunately I received a faulty Shine WiFi dongle. With the help of this video I could prove it. Now I need to follow up with Growatt to get good dongle!! It is just out of box, so I expect it should be straight forward process.
It took me two days of resetting and trying again and again and again until finally it just decided to work. These devices are absolute rubbish when it comes to getting them on-line! For those asking about an installer code...this seems to be a UK account requirement? I just created a new account, and chose France as my home country. When it came to adding the datalogger, I chose the UK as the plant country.
I could never get to the local datalogger web page as in step 2. Not sure if they've pulled that functionality?
In the end...here's what worked for me: Reset device (long press of the button - MUST wait for the flashing red light). Tried the 2.4ghz method first. It failed. Next try the hotspot mode (had to short press the button to enter into hotspot mode again - blue LED)...bingo. I have no idea if that combination is what did it...but probably by fluke it worked. It does only work on 2.4ghz radios though. Most routers will be 2.4 and 5ghz combined so you shouldn't need to add a dedicated radio.
Hi! As many others here also have noted, the installer code can not be left blank. What code can I use, or what do I have to do to get a code? I`m an end user, so I guess I should not apply for an installer account?
Istaller code is not optional and I dont know what it is. What to do?

doesnt help me, problem is my dongle's light is flashing all 3 lights at the same time and it doesnt reset to any one single light, tried pulling and inserting it multiple times. it just doesnt connect at configuration step and says configuration failed (sentence below the diagram or animation is router connection failed)
it is more types of growatt wifi dongles.my one i can not make it work because of the damn installer code :( . Can anyone help, please?

My Growatt 4200MTL Inverter was installed in March 2012. I need a firmware update in order for my Shine WiFi-S to be able to communicate with it. Can you please send me the link to the ShineBus 4.2 software and the firmware update for my inverter? Thank you
my green light is solid, but it doesn't go lighting blue after push the restart bottom. why?

Hi I have 2 inverters one 5kw and one 2kw I have the 5kw one connected and and trying to add a data logger to the 2kw one do I need to set up a new plant or can I add the second logger to the same plant?

Is there any manual or instruction for using the ShinePhone software after it is successfully installed? I can't find anything available. The manufacturer's link to 'User Manual' is blank (no download).
Method 2!! I spent so many hours on method 1 to no end. Method 2 had me connected in 2 minutes.

Hello, you will apologize. Also wanted to install this Growatt dongle with my friend. The application is easy to install and install. Creating the system with 1KW is also easy. My friend has problems. We are surprised that the "Datalogger" supposedly exists in the system. But it is not on a list. We have already asked the manufacturer for help. After entering the serial number and the "CC" code, it does not continue. "Device already exist". Do you have a tip for us? Greetings Ralf.

and right at the beginning my dongle is not flashing red. it is stable blue. this system is so terrible.
OMG... the only thing which is the MOST important info... is what is the Password for the WIFI signal from the dongle???? I can see in the video a Lock Icon, but in your rush to make this video you had already typed it in and NO WHERE in the instructions does it tell you the Password for the WIFI from the dongle. How many message or phone calls does Growatt get about this pretty simple instructions would be helpful!

When I click on the Dongle's "name" I get "Secured". It asks for a network key, which you didn't mention. ???HELP????

@@Tumbleweed5150 well Sawn who posted the video, added in the instruction… the password to the WiFi is suppose to be 12345678 so silly it is not in the installation instructions provided by growatt. They make it so hard to give them a good review on great equipment when they can not supply a simple password instruction

Hi can you just use the dongle unconnected, i within range of phone to monitor, my garage is to far from the house for wifi to connect, thanks.
Hi Nickel, if your inverter is too far away from your WIFI router, you may need a wifi extender or a Growatt ShineLink device.
Will work on other inverters with same connect type?

We have one of the Growatt inverters that we’re using purely for uninterrupted power with the main power grid. No photovoltaic input. Can we still use this Wi-Fi monitoring method just to have some means of remote monitoring and notifications if the mains fail and battery power is low? We run a small medical facility during daylight only and have very unreliable power that can be off for a few days at a time

Hello, do I need to have the dongle plugged in in order for the inverter to work, or will it work regardless of whether the dongle monitor is plugged in or not?

I have tried to connect the ShineWifi-S to a 7000TL3-S inverter
(here the ShineWifi-S is the only option to connect.
After installing, only the green light keeps burning.
So the connection failed.
To re-try making the connection, I should press the key button.
But the key-button on a ShineWifi-S doesn't respond if it is in constand green mode, as is also stated in the manual of the ShineWifi-S.
So, what to do now?
Hi, you could try to press the button one time to change the dongle into solid blue and then try the AP MODE method. Thanks
No matter what method I use. The dongle ends up flashing green.

it says ‘existing datalogger SN’ what does that mean?
It means this dongle has already been added into one account. You could check the datalogger list of your account. If dongle not there, it might be connected with another account
What is wifi password to dongle hot-spot? On my Phone and Computer i need Key to Connect, its Security! Connection doesn't work without The Key and its impossible to Connect to 192.168.10.100.

@@kruzel18 SSID is the serial number of the datalogger. Once you tap the button of the datalogger and the LED change to solid blue, you should be able to find it from your mobile WIFI list.
