I'm so excited I found this! I am an artistic gymnast and i struggle with body image issues. ballet is a way for me to reconnect with myself and let the artistry of the dance remind me that my body is beautiful and can do beautiful things. I love waltz of the flowers but I always improvised random steps with bad technique alone in my room whenever I listened to it. I live in a country with forced hijab where women's dancing especially ballet isn't exactly allowed or appreciated so I don't have the opportunity to explore this beautiful world on my own that much. now I can actually put time and energy into learning this beautiful combo and preform it like you did so beautifully! thank you for making this free and I really look forward to starting from the 1st video of this playlist.
I am so happy you are connecting to a sense of beauty in yourself through ballet! So many people struggle with body image issues, and like you, long to feel better in their own skin. This is a big part of why I teach ballet… because I know that embodying the beauty you feel in the movements and music in ballet helps soothe and express the spirit. This is such a simple choreography, you’re a beautiful and expressive dancer and it was a joy to watch you dance to it! To me this is proof that being a “good” dancer is not just about being the most flexible, or doing tricks. Would it be alright for me to use this choreography for a dance competition? I’ve began systematically going through your videos, and have gone through this dance start to finish and will continue including it almost daily in my workout as it’s so beautiful and lovely.
I did P 90x for weight loss exercise about 15 years ago and I wasn’t ready for it and it’s caused permanent damage, after a few rounds of that, I got so tired of working out as it was so masculine and I was so driven that I was unpleasant in the time surrounding my workouts. I stopped exercising regularly for several years and knew I needed to incorporate it back into my life desperately.
I stumbled across a lovely influencer talking about waking up to a morning barre stretch, and a lightbulb went off. The thought of waking up to lovely classical music, and stretching and getting exercise in something feminine and beautiful was so appealing. So I’ve used CZcams to learn ballet as an adult, I incorporate Scottish\Irish, dancing as well, using ballet for targeted area workouts, and HIIT videos from all three types of dancing. It has been wonderful and your content has been an extreme blessing. Thank you!
