Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. To be fair most people couldn't, it requires strength and swimming skills as well as being able to stay aware while staring at the ocean for hours on end lol
@@ThomasSawyers lol true. I worked on the beach before, can swim and dive very well but didn’t have the patience for tourists who lost their brains when they went on vacation and wouldn’t listen to the rules. 3 years was enough for me!

Nah dude, I 100% support H. He's a legend! While I may not have called someone an imbecile..not to their face anyway 🤣😂 I would have reacted the same.. I'm sorry, but "customer service" goes out the window when someone is actively putting not only their, but, potentially, your life in danger too.... especially after telling them couple of times that that isn't a swimming are and actually explaining to them the danger and all of that.. IMO, a lifeguard has duty of care first and foremost THEN "customer service"...🙂

I love the "recon he works at a pool" about the guy in yellow. We live in Canada and my daughter who is 15 just passed her National Lifeguard training on Friday. This rip seems so much more dangerous than a pool LOL

I really don’t understand why the “Dangerous Current” signs don’t just say “No Swimming”…seems like an easy fix that would clear up a lot of confusion
Right, especially with so many foreign tourists who may not understand English well. "No swimming" is much clearer.

@@Tazbev84 But people in so many countries do study basic English. Plus "no" is no in several other languages too. Just "no swimming" and a clear graphic would be much more effective.

We had a secret shopper in our carpet shop, went through all our rugs and left, the result we were the best in the town and they would buy from us 😂

So, my question is what if that guy shows up on the beach, and someone dies because he is distracting the guards? Is the city held liable? Customer service is one thing, but they are here to save lives, not make people happy. Everything should be secondary to that.
Listen some people are the living embodiment of darwinism... Now im terrified of open water..... youll catch me on the sand with a parasol. But in all honesty lifeguards need to be treated better.

What is a spray?
the problem is that all people entering Bondi Beach need a orientation lesson to the risks and dangers; otherwise they cannot enter the beach. This is doable.
Quite honestly, those people who wouldn't listen think got what they deserved. It doesn't just affect your life when you When you behave dangerously and you don't listen to what the people who know the area tell you you're putting their lives at risk. They have the right to be mad. My brother is a forest firefighter and the amount of people who won't listen to evacuation orders and then call and cry to 911 and these firefighters have to put their lives online to go rescue. These people that had ample opportunity to evacuate when it was safe and nobody had to put their lives online. It's unreal and I don't really blame them for being upset. Like they have family and friends they want to go home to too. They have a life they want to continue. And yeah I know that's the job they signed up for but they also didn't sign up for to save people from their stupidity

Do they have signs up that say "Don't swim in this area" ? I see signs that say "Dangerous currents" but that is informational, not instructional. People who are from outside Australia may not realize that.

I understand the need for a mystery shopper but this guy is rude and annoying.
That's his entire job.
He's intended to be exceptionally annoying and frustrating, to find out how the lifeguards will react to that situation.
What Waverly Council do not want is a lifeguard who will flatten an exceptionally annoying punter.
What possible need for a mystery shopper distracting them from the jobs? It's absurd
there's no doubt that if you want to change behaviour, calling people idiots is not the right approach. If they were told to wear a seatbelt, I am sure they would because they would understand the consequences. So, to not heed the advice of a lifeguard to save a life is being a full blown idiot

A sign indicating “Strong Currents” does not really communicate clearly that there is no swimming in that area. They should also be in different languages, not everyone speaks English.
