This episode will always hit us hard. We are so thankful for your amazing efforts as a lifeguard. You saved that little girl's life. Rest in peace, Terry. We miss you 💙

This episode was very emotional for a couple reasons. When Terry pulled that little girl out of the water I felt the relief.

Rip Terry I loved watching you on the show atleast ur up in heaven looking after ur boy ❤
The suicide worries in this one hit pretty close to home, I’m not going to go into detail, but watching bondi has saved my life more than once. The most recent of these experiences was about a week ago. So extreme thanks to you guys for making the shows.
Never give up, never give in, you are important and loved, please be safe 💕
You are someone's favourite person. Even if you don't think so, I promise that there are so many people that cherish and care about you :) Life isn't easy! Some experience more difficulties than others. But in the end, it is worth it because of all the things that make you happy. It gets better, I promise you. There is no need to rush. Life has funny ways of working itself out.

Much love and respect to the late Terry... Such an awesome genuine dude!!! I found BR during some hard times, watching these wonderful people helped me through it and to this day i am forever grateful ❤❤❤
The rescue of that little girl is one of my 3 favourite rescues you guys have done. Well done guys! Best wishes.
How?
@@NEWCASTLELADZ Sorry, only just got your reply. The guys seeing her drowning quietly, while no one else nearby even noticed. That was amazing! And Terry getting her quickly enough. And she was such a nice little girl too.
First! We miss you terry😢❤RIP
(Random though: I thought "aspergers" was one of those nono terms now.) I can't imagine the pain that little girl's mother would have felt. RIP Terry, thank you for changing so many lives for the better!
It is a no no term now but this was filmed in 2013 when it was a common term
It depends on the person. I (and some other people I know) self-describe as having Asperger's, but may use Autism as a shorthand in job applications. It's now been subsumed into Autism (Formerly Autistic Spectrum Disorder), but people diagnosed prior to that change tend to stick with their original diagnosis.
It is outdated, but this was filmed like a decade ago so many of us aren't too fussed
Why is it a nono term? It's a diagnosis.
I have tears in my eyes listening to Terry talk about his baby 😢😢 R.I.P Terry
I really value and appreciate how kind, supportive, welcoming, and accepting the Bondi Lifeguards are of autistic folks - it really warms my heart as an autistic on the other side of the world. The genuine care and respect demonstrated, and the interest and ingenuity displayed are really what people should be striking for. I know Australia in general has a phenomenal approach to autism (and early intervention for eating disorders, which I know from work 😄), and that's really encouraging and inspiring to see. I'm hoping and taking action to ensure Canada follows your lead in employing "nothing about us without us" and starting to truly support neurodivergents - and autistics in particular. Thank you @BondiRescue for this (and all your instances of) autistic representation and the exemplification of not just inclusion, but belonging as well 🥰
This comment was so heart-warming to read! The lifeguards will always make sure all people feel welcome and included at Bondi 💙🤙
The little girl he grabbed was very similar to a life experience and I learned very young that water has an agenda. I was about 6 but a very good swimmer. There was a long pier, then after that, way out in the lake was a floating pier so of course the thing was to run off the pier, dive/jump in and swim to the floater. A million kids on there and it was just a game of climbing on and push/be pushed off back into the water. One time, someone pushed me off and when I re-surfaced I was SO far away from the floater. This was a lake, not the sea, I have no idea how I got so far away and then I panicked. Finally a lady was swimming by and got me and took me to the beach. I was pretty embarrassed because I KNEW I would swim just forgot how. Then of course the panic from my brother still on the floater that he had lost track of me. He got to the beach and saw me and said "Where have you been?" I was just lying there like a limp fish and said "Oh God, don't ask."
props to you for writing the whole thing
God bless these heros
Thank y'all so much for your hard work and support you do to help people. I was wondering if you can make a beach cam video anytime soon if y'all are not too busy! Have a amazing day
Pure amazing ❤
I miss you Terry aloha 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

I feel like drones can be used here and search water rather choppa
Yes, drones can be used to look but they are not able to perform rescue or gods forbid, recovery. So helicopters are definitely necessary and needed. ~Love, an advanced life support paramedic on medevac.
Today they can be used to spot sharks or investigate people far off shore. Just remember some of these episodes are a decade or more old.
How in the world does a guy afraid of water become a lifeguard? Doesn’t seem to make much sense.
Overcoming your fear and mastering it can be a powerful thing.
wait whos afraid of the water
I was a paramedic in the military, and quite a few of my colleagues were afraid of blood lol. I could never wrap my head around it 😂
@@EnhypenILYCabramatta John.
@@EnhypenILYI don’t know who the OP was referring to, but John (17 year old with Asperger’s) was an honorary lifeguard for a day.
Who the heck let's a 5 year old swim out like that without close supervision.
