I'm using CapCut and every time I drag a template into the timeline is says "clips to be replaced before you can edit." I have used many video editing software but have no idea what this means, does anyone know?
No disrespect but you need to lookup 'free' because my understanding is that it means 'without cost or payment' and I do need to provide you with anything... that includes an email address! I'll give you a 'like' though

Mate, your previous vid made me give CapCut a go. I’m halfway through an edit and it’s insane! The stuff it does would take forever in premier. Weirdly it also doesn’t heat up my laptop as much as premier even though it’s seemingly doing more advanced stuff. Not even gonna try davinci resolve as CapCut is ridiculous 👏

Ben, I cannot figure out how to MARK a video clip. In FCPX the command is M and that allows a marker to be placed on an audio or video clip. I use this method to sync multiple clips from different sources. Have you found this feature or a work-around? Thank you. @@BenClaremont

For CZcams, when you film horizontally, do you leave the ratio to 16:9? I guess I'm trying to learn when you change it to 9:16 since you don't know if the viewer is watching on a laptop or smartphone. Or do you upload the video with each setting for a laptop and a phone? Thx.

Great intro video. I don't understand where the project is saved while I am working on it. There did not seem to be an option to save the project to a disk. It was only available when I exports for final output. What happens to the project file? What if I want to work on it again after export?

Hi! I'm struggling to find any videos on this issue but I can't freely trim anything on the timeline. It instead snaps to the intervals on the timeline so I can't precisely drag and crop items to where I want to but instead it only lets me trim things to the marked intervals on the timeline?
How do you name an individual clip in capcut on a mac. I had one long video and have cut them into the separate songs and need to put a name so I know each clip by title. Not adding text or title in the clip just the file?
Great free editing software provided your computer has the necessary specs. Something I think every review of software should start with is what’s the minimum requirement.
CapCut does not require high computer specs. You can find the specifics on their website. Regardless I showed 2 ways to work with it, even with a slow computer.

@@BenClaremont If you click on "Adjustment", and then click on the drop down menu on the left, it gives you a LUT option. If you click on that it say "Import Cube and 3DL files".

@@BenClaremont I've just downloaded the LUT from DJI for the Dlog on the pocket 3, and then imported into CapCut, and it definitely works. Great news eh :)
Dear I am really interested about your videos. I am beginer to capcut. When I am adding transitions videos, there is no inbuilt sound in those transitions. Is it normal thing? Should I add sound clips? Or is it a error of my capcut app?

Can someone tell me how I find the Media icon on the top left of the dashboard? I have Audio, text etc but I have Import as my first icon and NOT Media as i see in @benclaremont video

Just curious, what do you think about Corel Video Studios?
I find it super easy and fast pace for what I do. Although having text follow object, I have to edit by frames.
Have not used it- do you think it’s better than CapCut or DaVinci in any way?
@BenClaremont I haven't tried Capcut yet (Desktop version), but when it comes to simple, it's very easy to just throw all your clips on the main time line chop them up and export. (Audio and video is combined unless you split)
Second line is for overlays, third is text, 4th is voice and 5th is music.
Basically, it's great for people who want to edit fast and very beginner friendly.
But, I also know some advance tricks.
I would like to ask a question. Where could I buy musics to use for my CZcams. Because only few that are interesting in the free musics of CZcams.
I use Epidemic sound personally.

I haven’t used the mobile versions a lot- but I can say for sure that in general it’s much easier to edit on desktop, and a lot of finer controls like keyframing etc are more suited to desktop.
I recently downloaded Cap Cut on my iMac. Have been learning and practicing. So far, very easy to use, and surprised to see all the features and goodies you get with the free version. I am a Premiere Pro editor, and there is one feature that I haven't found on Cap Cut (if it has it), and that is the ability to import multiple pictures into a project as a sequence to make a timelapse. Is there a way to make every photo just on frame in Cap Cut? I would appreciate your answer, and thanks for your free keyboard shortcuts. I will download it right away!

Great video, thanks. In my version of capcut PC there is no Text Bubbles menu, also no AI characters and no transcribe. I use free. Sometimes though the feature is there. I did try vpn on US living in Europe but unstable. Does anyone has an explenation why some features are so dynamically avalabl?

Yes CapCut does it automatically
I would like to edit my video in resolve and then bring the edited video into capcut or clipchamp and add these effects. Which means i would be exporting my video twice. So what export settings would you recomend in resolve so that when i export again from capcut the video quality does not degrade. Basically i want the editing of resolve and the effects of capcut. Also do suggest any alternate workflow if you using one.
Check out my DaVinci resolve tutorial. Honestly I would just stick to one platform or the other- not both. I’ll try to make a comparison video in the future between the two platforms 👍🏻
@@BenClaremont Adding text effects and other cools effects is so much time efficient in capcut. This is my main complain with mainstream editors like resolve and premiere..just give us effects that look like they belong in this year.

Not in CapCut- but you can edit videos that have already been reframed.

I've been using Powerdirector for years. I keep thinking I'm going to switch but keep coming back to it for all the titling and extras that apps like this one have, because Premiere is too expensive for my no-name level stuff, and it and davinci are resource hogs with steep learning curves. I am playing with CapCut now (thanks to Ben's previous video) and the AI and lower resource needs so far are knocking PD off the stage. I have done crazy fun things with it already.
@@BenClaremont PC only a few years ago unless you had the highest package and that is a pain when I'm on the road. I see my android app forces me to sign in, unlike before

Which version of Capcut did you use? My 'free' version downloaded a month or so ago had a lot of the paid pro effects mixed in with the free ones so you had to be careful eg which transition etc you chose if you wanted the render to remain free.
Hey- I used the only version available on their website (link in description). For me it doesn’t show any of the paid stuff.

My 10 year old intel core i3 4th gen processor runs like Windows Movie Maker without a graphics card. Very simple and no hassle editing and exporting in 4k with very low cpu usage. Even though adobe premiere pro handling latest generation core i7 with 16 gb ram and nvidia 4gb graphic card still it takes very long time in exporting
The version of Capcut you are showing is an older version because the new 3.5 version for PC doesn't have the Opacity slider function under the Blender options. The discontinuation of this function makes the software useless to me. Am I missing something and is the opacity slider placed somewhere else in the new version? Please let me know before I uninstall the program. This is a great piece of software but without this option is no good.

I like the features on Capcut, but it is lagging so much that it's unusable to me😔
I have tried all tricks I've read, like "preview - best performance", go down to 540P on proxy, empty the cache, restart and only work on capcut, but it is still so far off, even without the effects on, that it's impossible to work on. I'm using a Macbook M1, about 2 years old, so it should be fine. Plenty of space on HD. Any tips?😬

ANDROID TABLETS VS WINDOWS TABLET EDITING
I am currently looking for an option to video edit on a larger screen, namely an Android tablet or Windows tablet.
However, in my quest, I almost found no video where this sort of comparison is made.
I wanted to know the render speed on PC for the same video, and how fast each is able to reverse and speed up videos in Capcut.
I have no problem seeing Capcut PC and Capcut Android being compared. I only want to know which one performs better for the same amount of money, as I am considering either an Android tablet or a Microsoft tablet.
The only comparison I would like is for the devices to be not more than $1100.
And yes, I know some of you might come in and say it's about the experience and the OS being different, to which I say I don't care; I just want to be able to edit on a bigger tablet/touchscreen, regardless of the OS, because I am comfortable using both.
Some comparable devices I was thinking of:
Windows tablet:
- Dell XPS 13
- Microsoft Surface Pro 9
Android Tablet:
- Samsung Tab S9+
- OnePlus Pad

I’’ thinking of leaving premiere pro for CapCut, but i just find it hard to cut and edit on the CapCut timeline as it’s so very small without any possibility to expand the audio waves which i use alot when editing…
And finally you don’t hear audio playback when moving forward or backward by one frame to let you hear and get the exact point you want to make your cut which is a useful feature in premiere pro for me😌

So its normal for a 2hr video takes 12hr+ and come out 15G large file? Seems too big too long for this 2019 macbook pro
Yes. 2 hour videos are feature film length. That is surprisingly quick & low file size, considering the length.

RE Audio... one of my biggest pet peeves is creators in CZcams not understanding how loud music is vs spoken audio. E.g. I listen to the start of the video, then suddenly my eardrums get blown out by their musical channel intro. I fight to my keyboard to turn down the volume, then their intro ends and I can't hear their spoken audio any longer. SMH. Thanks for addressing the levels and auto-normalize function, etc.
Another pet peeve is the waaaaaaay OVERused term "without further ado" but I digress... ;-)

Hi, is it normal, that CapCut drastically lower the file size? For example; Insta file reframed in Insta Studio has 3.3 Gb (in 4K) and when finally edited in CapCut and upload to ZuoTube the same file has 720 Mb. TIA
Check your export settings- I export HEVC with a high bitrate. Yes the file size drops, but quality is still good 👍🏻
@@BenClaremont thank you for reply. Yes, I am also using HEVC and recommended or High bitrate. The quality stays in 4K, just the file size drops huge. For example similar file (video quality and duration) with American production spport camera and different editing program, files were upload to CZcams in 8-11 Gb.....now justa bit over 1 Gb. But, as long as quality is great.....everything is ok.
Thanks, great intro to CapCut, which I'm taking a look at. Very useful. My only complaint is the way jump cuts are becoming acceptable. Bad visual grammar IMO.
Jump cuts in CapCut? What do you mean?
@@BenClaremont Every time you snip out a pause or stutter or stumble in a continuous talking head video you create a jump cut. It's featured here. I know it's the way it'd done now, but it's (as I said) bad grammar, IMO.
I like the program, but TTS isn’t working for me. The program tries to download the necessary resources but then gives an error. I tried multiple times to no avail. Other stuff like transitions and effects download in no time, so my network connection is working.
What is TTS?

Great, except there is no longer a Media Tab..............running v3.7.0 as updated and there is no way to get to the media Library anymore, what happened?
Hmm, it’s there for me with version 3.7. Perhaps try uninstalling and reinstalling?
You'd think that would work, but tried and no such luck............now I have version 3.8 and still no Media Tab! Submitted ticket for PC issue to folks at CapCut, but their answer was to clear the phone cache and restart the phone.........uh, this problem is for the Desktop version, so got nowhere there............waiting on their next suggestion or any other contributor who might have a working solution.

Tried following your CapCut Beginners Tutorial, but get stuck right off the bat..........I have no such thing as a Media Tab as shown in the video! I'm running v3.8 with all updates and be glad to send a screenshot of my edit window.
Does capcut support m2ts files?
No idea what format that is, but there is one way to find out…

No- but it can edit shots that have already been reframed.
WARNING: How do you get around the legal agreement for capcut that limits its use for "personal use" only? There are lots of cautions out there about the assets that are in the tool that are not licensed for use outside the app.

Have not heard anything about it being banned- regardless you do not need to pay for it anyway.
Capcut also works on Win 7 despite its System Requirements stating Win 10/11 only.
