Your basement door project reminds me of the story about the people who replaced the light bulb in their kitchen with a brighter one and ended up doing a full kitchen remodel. Thank you for the wedding photos. Kim looked absolutely gorgeous and you cleaned up O K too.
My family’s bathroom fix ended up becoming a whole house renovation and adding a third story 😂

No need to apologise - I think having a wedding, and meeting out-of-town family for such a wonderful occasion, is a necessary reason behind realigning priorities for the short term. Congratulations to you and Kim. That said, I love these videos and find it especially lovely seeing all these old tools still in usable condition. Makes a change from "modern" tools which seem to have a limited life. I guess its the debate about being made "properly" with better quality materials versus mass-manufactured tools which use inferior(?) materials but for cheaper cost to the public.

Kaleb you have become a master refinisher of windows, doors and walls, stone mason, tuck pointer, lime mortar mixer etc. etc. etc. Wonderful skills to be able to do and to teach others. Watching you work on your house is just fascinating to me. You know so much that I would just stand there and go duh now what??!! LoL 😂!
The stone wall in the future kitchen is just lovely. I just watched a design show on HGTV and the renovator/designer just put in a stone as a kitchen backsplash and on the fireplace in a CA cabin. Of course she didn't use full stone "bricks" and her stone wasn't as old and authentic as yours. Still the exposed stone is a lovely design feature to have.
Kaleb, as you mentioned, one project sometimes requires you to start several more projects - it's just the way to work with an old structure. However, I am happy to be able to watch time lapses again, even activities such as cleaning up debris after the work is finished. I look forward to the next videos showing the construction progress. Aww,Tuck pointing! Being the wife of a Journeyman Bricklayer, I have my own tuck pointer and a smaller trowel than my hubby’s ( he retired after 40 years). It can be a tedious yet satisfying job when all finished and you step back and look at the wall.😊 we know exactly what you mean when you say one job leads into a series of jobs , we call it “ When a Mouse Wants a Cookie”, a book I used to read to my girls. Congratulations on your beautiful wedding! I’m sure I’m not the only team Caleb & Kim that thought about you 2 on your wedding day. The perfect low 70’s temps and beautiful background of your family’s property! If someone told me 15 years ago that I would care about 2 strangers from a CZcams channel, I would have just laughed ( think Sheldon’s laugh from Big Bang Theory)😂. Thank you for sharing a few of your wedding pictures with us. Your uncle is an amazing photographer. Add your uncle’s talent to the list that every family needs. I live on the west side of Missouri and these extreme temps are effecting anyone with bone and joint problems. We are heading down to my family’s Century farm soon.A long list of To Do for our 200th year celebration. That’s not until 2037 and truthfully our grown children will be the caretakers by then and hopefully still be able to share the vision of honoring our ancestors hard work throughout these years. One step at a time as it can become overwhelming otherwise as you well know. I ❤️ the old workbench! My great grandfathers workbench looked so much like yours! It was in my grandfathers detached garage in Kansas, City, MO and I remember one of my favorite things to do was sneak back into the alley and explore all the old things that my grandfather kept in there. Little did I know I would be the proud caretaker of his family property. I still dream of that workbench; the clamp handle was my favorite thing to play with.
You two are the cutest and sweetest couple. Luv all the progress and the neat tools and antique work bench. Great finds!!

Congrats on your marriage!!!! I hope it is a very long lasting one. For that phone, it should be mounted in the kitchen. Those style of phones were a bit more industrial then the candlestick ones of that time. You would see those in kitchens or saloons or stores and hotels in small western towns of the era. That phone is missing its shelf in the front (you can see the holes). That shelf was used to take notes or to write something (like an order at a grocery store). Yours will look nice with a bit of work. I think these were called picture frame phones due to the picture frame like design around the microphone.

Caleb for security purposes I would recommend switching your deadbolt to one that requires a key on both the inside and outside of the lock. Someone could easily shatter the glass, reach inside and turn the lock.

I inherited some of my English grandfather's wood working tools, though I was only able to keep a few of the hand tools. The cast iron mitre box weighed a ton. The two saws have beautiful carved leaf garlands on the wood handles. Grandfather started his cabinetmaking apprenticeship in 1917, and went on to work in furniture manufacturing. He ended up teaching woodworking in Los Angeles from 1938 until 1963. He kept the wood from the unfinished projects of students who went off to WWII and never returned. Our weather is also nuts; Saturday it was 72 and today the expected high is 97. Glad you are getting things winterized. I won't said 'airtight', as such a thing in an old house never happens, lol.

I look forward to seeing you redo that basement window and finish that wall. When we were in St Louis a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to check out buildings made of the area rocks. Have you ever seen the old Lodge at Babler State Park? It’s very cool and gave me some creepy vibes. It’s not open to the public but we were able to check it out on a tour with the ranger.

.Many years ago I moved to a victorian house which hadn't been lived in for forty years! You remind me of us - we however had to live in the house while we worked on it.There wasn't ANY electric at all in our kitchen plus so many layers of wallpaper( complete with borders) laid over one another it was fascinating to see probably going back to late 1800's
Our friends and family thought we were crazy but we turned it into a beautiful home because the bare bones were all still there.!
Anyway keep going I am sure it's going to be beautiful.!
