Replacement of the Reservoir Road Railway bridge in Whaley bridge

Replacement of the Reservoir Road Railway bridge in Whaley bridge Peak District taking place 7th and 8th November work all day and night . After weeks of day time road closures to prepare for the replacement of the old railway bridge (age unknown but is constructed in very old style and features rivet fastenings) . a second near by bridge was all so repaired and upgraded but not replaced this is a stone bridge unlike the metal bridge being replaced . the work was part of the Great North Rail Project to modernise the railways
