bringing in the new year from four locations using Raspberry Pi powered streaming microphones

In this video (er, audio,) we travel between Jamestown, NC, Belle Harbor Queens, New York, London, UK, and Tallin, Estonia, in reverse chronological order, slowly cross-fading between each after 2.5 minutes.
This is made possible with a small network of Raspberry Pi powered streaming microphones that I and a couple of friends run, some cheap microphones and audio interfaces, and Liquidsoap streaming software.
Though I explain a bit about how this works and why we set it up, I didn't want to go into too much detail on this presentation. Perhaps I'll do that at a later date.
