Louise Penney is my favorite author! My daughter and I have the whole Three Pines series. She has just finished all 18. I'm about half way through (the stroke slowed me down). Highly recommend them.

Good morning my dear friend, it’s an overcast dreary day here today but I do miss the sun and not the heat. You got so many wonderful things on your outing. None of us really need anything more for our already over the top papers, books for making ephemera but we always run across things that we can’t leave behind. Thanks for sharing your fines. Oh man, how I wish I could have gone with you on that road trip! I had a friend when I lived in Oklahoma who enjoyed thrift stores as much as I do. We’d hit all the ones we could find, then we’d always have breakfast for dinner before we went home, that is, bacon and eggs and hash browns. We very rarely purchased anything, but that’s not why we went to these stores. It was the togetherness and laughter that mattered the most, and the firm trust that if we opened up about a personal issue, it would never go any further. She now lives here in Houston too (an hour away from us, Houston is huge) but my decrepit old body refuses to let me go to thrift stores these days. She also lived in Scotland when we were there, then in Norway, then in Oklahoma, and now in Houston. Oh wow, I just did the math, I’ve known her for 40 years!

Gayle…I already commented but I had to mention Debbie at My Vagabond Style. She has a small series of Collage Fodder videos that are so awesome and addictive. It’s using magazine pages as the background and doodling on them and then fussy cutting them out. I thought you might like to give it a try. I originally saw it done by Laura @TheHalfassCrafter, she is just hilarious. She watched the My Vagabond Style videos too. Hopefully you like this technique. Happy crafting!

You could do strips of the fabric with squares (like two squares width) and make a rainbow journal. With the multi color fabric on the inside.

With the dark ink, maybe you could think of that splatter as an ink splatter instead of a coffee one. I really miss being able to drive so I could go on some junk finding outings. I'm only about an hours drive from El Paso TX, and a half hour from Deming NM. But there's nothing here in Columbus, it's such a tiny town. There's only the Museum gift shop, a mom & pop grocery store and 2 dollar stores.
Family dollar has some good stuff and I buy used books on-line from a used book store. Otherwise it's mostly Amazon.
Sorry for unloading, I'm just very envious of all your options for great stuff.

Hey Gayle, when you were at the Rusty Bucket Antiques in Three Forks the owner Tina mentioned someone she know that makes junk journals. Do you remember? That was me! I was in there Saturday and she told me about you! I love that store for old books!
I think you only need to wipe the poly stamps when new. They have a "film" on them when mfg but not the rubber stamps. My little corner punches, I hold them upside down to see and make sure the corner of the paper is positioned just right. Not a pro but just fèw tips i have learned. Beautiful fabrics !

Good afternoon Gayle! WOW! Lots of goodies! Makes me want to go shopping. I'm glad it's garage sale season. Tim Holtz gets a large amount of his images from the public domain and places like The Graphics Fairy so it's not uncommon for others to have some of the same images. You can tell when someone has copied exactly his entire sheet of stamps, that's a no-no. He does not own the image 'Book No. 710' It's like the digital designers, if you use a lot of digitals you'll see the same images over and over because they are all using the same resources they just use the images differently. With AI there is more variety now. BROCANTE is french for Flea Market or Second Hand 😊♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

If you turn the corner maker over, you can see if the paper is sitting in it right. I had a problem with it from time to time because my paper was not always all the way in it right.

Do you mean a writing board, Lori? If so, I make them when a journal is very lumpy bumpy. Often a Bohemian journal will need one. ❤

Been missing you. My 89 yr old mom has been in and out of the hospital or a SNF for the last 7+ weeks. She is coming home tomorrow and I will be staying nights with her. She did loose her balance today at the SNF getting out of the shower but thankfully they caught her before she went all the way down. She did scrape her arm and has some skin abrasions. Not sure if I’m going to be able to do this on my own. I’m 70 and have osteoporosis so if I fall with her I’m afraid I’ll end with a broken hip. She has great bones..no osteoporosis and doesn’t break anything. This was her 6th fall since Thanksgiving. Say a prayer for me.
I sure will, Barbara! 🙏. Taking care of our aging parents is tough work. My mom lived with us for four years. It was hard for both of us. I’ll be praying for strength, patience and no falls for you, my friend! 🙏❤
