Me, too - I actually bought TWO sets - and both are hard and dry....WAAAAAH!
@@nuvoclassic oh just checked mine and they are ok, but try one of the cheaper shops for gelato type crayons, kids crayons and they should work the same

I absolutely love these! I found it interesting that you used the collage medium first. I would never have known to do that. Thanks for the ideas! ~Velvet

That folder looked great with the added crayon. I must get mine out and use them more, thanks for sharing.
Lovely backgrounds! I'm thinking (hoping) clear gesso will work also (in place of matte medium)?

Great techniques... thank you for this video 🙂
Thank you for this video!! These crayons had me stumped. So thank you so soo much❤❤❤
Great video. I have about six crayons now I want to get them all. I have not used them much just for coloring the Tim Holtz dolls. I can't wait to work with them this weekend trying out all these wonderful ideas.
Thank you so much for all these great techniques!❤
Thanks!!!
Great video Marly. Enjoyed seeing the different techniques 😊
I enjoyed watching the techniques ❤ Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you very much for this fantastic tutorial! 👌👌
I've been looking at these for quite some time. I may have to "dive in". Looks like a lot of fun. Thank you. Could you tell me what is the surface that you are working on? Also, what is the best paper for these crayons? I paint watercolor on rough/cold press but I also have hot press.
How informative!!! Thank you sooo much! I will get out my crayons and put them to use!! :)
Thank you so much! I love the paper dolls but I like them tinted. I have used the new distressed pencils & crayons but I never get enough color. Again thank you so much for generous sharing ❤
✨🌼❣️Thank you❣️🌼✨
Marlies you make it so interesting and thank you very much, Love the colours you used also ❣️❣️❣️
Great tutorial? I love to see the experiments
🤩🤩
Thank you for this video. I’m curious as to why you prep the paper first. Also when the background is dry can you stamp on it ? Thank you in advance.
Putting the crayon on top of the collage medium makes it easier to move the color around or to remove color. The stamping on top is easy when you use stamps and archival ink. Stamping with the crayons......I will try that out to see the result 👍
These are gorgeous!!!
Thank you for sharing these techniques! I have some of the distress crayons but didn’t know how to use them!!
Do these need to be “set” so they won’t continue to move or smudge???
❤❤❤❤❤
I would dry it 👍 but great question, I will check my papers again today to see if I can reactivate the dry color, so we can learn from it.
I really enjoyed this video. I was just wondering what the reason is you coated the paper with collage medium first and do you have to do that. Thanks for all you do you are really great!😊
The coating is for swiping out the crayons smoothly. You do not have to do that. You can also try it without and see wich result you like best 👍
I loved your crayons video but I have one question. Even after you dry the crayons on the paper, how do you keep the crayon from smearing again? Thank You
I'm still experimenting with that. My advice would be to try out different mediums and see what works best for you.
wow, a baby wipe! who knew!
Love seeing all the different backgrounds, I just got some crayons but haven’t tried them yet, also what alternative can I use if I don’t have collage medium?
You can try using a gel medium or modpodge 👍
Also what size are the tags, did you use a die or just cut them?
@@christinelazarides8916 I have cut the tags by hand.
Just curious. How permanent is the crayon after it is smeared Into the paper? Will it come off onto the recipient’s hands?
That is possible depending what paper & extra mediums you use as your base. Best thing is to try different kind of papers.
Can someone tell me the difference between the distress crayons and the distress watercolor pencils?
Anything else you can use besides the collage medium?
Definitely, you can try modpodge or a gel medium 👍
Why do you coat the paper with collage medium first before you start putting your colors on?
So I will have a smooth surface to smudge and move around the colors 👍
Marleys, will the Distress Matte Medium work the same as using the Collage medium?😊
Yes, I do think so, but best way is to try it out for yourself 👍
@@Marlydesign I knew you were going to suggest that. 😄
THANK YOU for this video. I bought these a couple of months ago and not used them yet. Really didn't know where to start. But now I have a lot of information to work with. Agree with londicawthon6956, feel like in school! Great thing, I'm a 72 year old lady.. (But we're not old) LOL Can't wait to start playing tomorrow. Oh, Question, Do you always coat your all papers when you work with distress crayons? Thanks again for a great video.
So Lovely to read your enthusiastic comment. You can also try all techniques on paper without collage medium and then see how that works and if you like the result.
Maybe this question has already been answered: what kind of paper is best to use ?
I'm using watercolor paper the smooth side. Maybe it is best to try different brands and find out wich you like best.
re paper: You said "maybe it's best to try several kinds & see which you like". ?? The question remains, what paper are you using? maybe we want to try that one which we see works, instead of spending lots of $ on multiple brands to experiment. so ... what are the details on the paper you used in this post? Thanks.
In my experience for this particular paper crafting any watercolor paper will work. However, try what you have on hand first and see how it turns out. Crafting is all about experimenting. What one person likes another may not care for. I found a sale at Michaels and bought some mixed media & water color notebooks and found I reach for the watercolor paper more often. Strathmore is the brand I buy for specialty papers.
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
I would much rather see your face in the introduction, than your hands moving around. Usually “hands” bouncing around turns me off and I skip all videos that start this way. In this instance I was curious about the subject matter so endured the annoying intro. Thanks for the info
Thank you! Thank you! I will have to pull out the crayons I purchased and finally use them.
Thank you! Great video!
