Gr8 vid, Simon. Gotta say that water color paints are kinda old school when u have the crayons, unless you need a color that the crayons don’t provide. All you need are inks and crayons. Also, the crayons have so many more uses. PLEEZ be careful with that Wagner heat tool. No plastic guard tip on the end. I got burned twice 🥴. Not my fave tool when there are sooo many others to choose from

I love all the cards. I have used Tim Holtz crayons in the past, I loved doing that. then I got into making planner videos. I really wanted to give it a go again with the crayons, using the ones I have and also I picked up more. When I would use the watercolor paper and I woud put the crayon down, I used a baby wipe to move the colors. But I see you prepare the water color paper. Could I only use the clear gesso to prepare water color paper? Is that all you use? Hear from you soon. Thank you. I loved all the cards you decorated! I will give those a go also. Thanks for the inspiration. I only need to know about preparing the water color paper.

Hello Simon! I really liked the card where you used your leaf stencil. My favorite fabric is a black background with florals on top. As opposed to underneath? LOL the closest that I have seen anybody come to this is when Jennifer McGuire used a bunch of different embossing powders and embossed on black cardstock. But, there has to be another way. Maybe a better way? Is this something you could help us with?

This is the 1st time I’ve watched one of your videos!! You have a great presentation style!! Love how you move right along & skip portions of content not necessary to see (like taping down your stencils, for example.) I got EVERY set of distress crayons for my birthday & I have watched TH, some other random videos & just not getting the results I want. My main question to you is: Do you ever use the distress glaze to seal colors after your finished? This is the 1st video I have seen someone seal with gesso before coloring. I believe my problem is I keep expecting them to be pointed like crayola crayons-to get into detailed spots!!! Well, that’s definitely not the case! Here is what I would like to achieve: I have a gorgeous stamp of the Eiffel Tower covered in Flowers and the sentiment says, “Paris in the Spring.” I adore this stamp & want to single in on getting the crayon pigment VIBRANT on the flowers. Used a little pointed sponge & put some on one flower (want lots of different colors) and blended. But I must be getting too much pigment because it does not stay within the line. That would be fine to run together if a background but this is my focal point. Adding water & just dabbing the color in works better but I lose the Vivid color I want. I use a brush to lightly apply distress glaze & love that look! I guess I’m asking what kind of tool or applicator can I use to get precision color in certain areas?
It shows that you are very enthusiastic about what you do-that is refreshing!! I subscribed-so I’ll watch some more of your examples!! Thanks & have a great day!

What brand of black do you use for your stamped images before you watercolor? I love your ideas!

I learn so much from you! Does anybody have any ideas to protect the surface afterwards? Would laminate sheets be an option?

misty basey I don’t protect my cards from water because if it rains... it will get ruined anyways, but if it’s a piece of artwork I would put it behind glass or laminate it like you suggested. :)

Love all your ideas. Thank you. Did you gesso the card stock first on the one that you put texture and the bugs on?

I loved all of your cards....I just could not pick a favorite. I do have a couple of questions. What was in the bottle that you squeezed after applying the paste onto one of the cards? Also, you said something about the backgrounds are still water reactive after it dries. Is there any way I can seal it so it won’t?
